May I suggest that Mrs. Tetro meets with Mr. O'Brien to clarify some of the issues she brings on the other blog. Like most residents I am not an accountant. Some of the issues she raises might be legitimate. I don't know. Her way of going at it mudies the process and leads some to believe that the purpose here is to delay passing of the budget until the snowbirds are gone......but keep on paying. So please, get together and discuss these important matters in a constructive way.  Andre Legault

This is a insane posting by the Great Wizard, The tin man, the cowardly lion, Davis Israel. It frightens me in that it shows how far out of control our President is.

His description of what a Forensic Audit is absolutely correct. The problem he is alluding to, the fact that the Auditors have to be incorporated is not true. He don't understand. The auditors are the Delegates. Ed Grossman and friends are the the Volunteers.

The dictionary description of the Forensic Audit is right on. That is exactly why we want a audit. The great one says if we see stealing that we should go to the PBSO. Not necessarily. When we get the proof we need the state will be called in. In the meantime we will wait and watch and watch and watch...

But while we watch, what exactly is disruptive about opposition? Is the fact that we are against the dictatorial Moves by the Great One disruptive? Is the fact that we can post and reach most of the Voting Delegates disruptive? I don"t thinks so. His iron grip is going to be broken.

What exactly is David Israel and friends afraid of? Are they afraid that their sneaky moves will be recognized for what they are? Just sunshine laws abrogated. What is it about the WiFi effort that Israel keeps bringing it up over and over again? Remember we, the Delegate Assembly, voted it down 2 to 1. Do we have to do it again and again and again...?

Disruption, if any occured, is caused by the inept handing of th DA by its chair. His banging and accusing the Delegates of disruption is caused by the chair itself. His banging and yelling for quiet and order when quiet and order prevails, but the speaker is opposing his views so the gaveleer brings on the disruption.

DEFINITION of 'Forensic Audit' An examination and evaluation of a firm's or individual's financial information for use as evidence in court. A forensic audit can be conducted in order to prosecute a party for fraud, embezzlement or other financial claims.

Apparently, there is a new auditing firm in CV, although I cannot find a Corporation filing in Florida Sunbiz! The team of Grossman, Loewenstein and Tetro, who are elected to do nothing in UCO, want to get their hands into UCO financial matters. A-Ok! Let’s have a look at this “offer”, do you think these three are unbiased actors in this case; of course not, one member of this un-vetted trio has regularly disrupted our Delegate Assembly for over four years, the other two are former officers of UCO, one of whom has no professional accounting experience whatsoever. They can’t seem to understand that they are no longer authorized to perform such “services” for the Village. Worse yet, their demonstrated bias preclude them from performing an “arms length” audit of UCO finances.

This ploy is yet one more disruptive tactic which is out of order from its inception.

Going back to the definition above, if these three "want-to-be" auditors, or anyone else, haveevidence of any sort of crime or fraud; they should know that the place to go, is to the PBSO and thence to the State Attorney for Palm Beach County.

The mob tactics demonstrated at our Delegate Assembly, the Email spamming of our residents, the name calling and condescending drivel published on the INTERNET, needs to be regarded with the disdain it deserves; if you have proof, go to PBSO. Only the combined efforts of our vast majority of reasonable Residents and Delegates can send the simple message that is required, “behave - or be gone”

Finally it must be noted that UCO’s finances have been audited by an independent accounting firm and UCO has received a clean  opinion. I have released this audit for the last two years.

The Balance sheet

MR. O’BRIEN’S BALANCE SHEET

On December 9, 2014 Mr. O’Brien prepared and subsequently distributed financial reports reflecting the various balances on hand “as at December

31, 2014.” 

The Balance Sheet is indicating “Current Year Revenue in Excess of Expense – Not Audited” as $400,437.  In and of itself this is not really that significant (in my opinion) when you compare it to the total budget for the year which is just shy of $6.7 million.

However, Mr. O’ Brien have you included the expenses – large and small – that may or not be known in actuality until January?  Security, Transporta-tion, electricity, telephone and fuel for the buses and cars will not be invoiced until then.

Your December 31^st report “UCO Revenue and Expenses” indicates $350,000 under budget for 2014 in just two major items; Security and Transportation.  Does it not seem likely that most of this $350,000 will accrue to 2014 expense, thereby reducing the plus $400,000 in a significant way?

Mr. O’Brien, please give the residents of Century Village credit for being astute enough to realize that THIS Balance Sheet for the entire year cannot possibly be considered as representing the actual final accounting.

At the very least your report should say ESTIMATED with the assurance to

us that a final report will be distributed at the February Delegate Assembly. 

Remember what Mr. Lincoln said “. . . YOU CANNOT FOOL ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME.”

“CIRCUMVENTING” THE BID COMMITTEE

Rumor has it that that one of the reasons for the large increase in the category labeled “General and Administrative” (please read my post titled “General and Administrative Expense - $856,935) in some way coincides with a desire to perhaps “circumvent” the Bid Committee.

Now, why someone would want to do that is quite a curiosity.  When consideration is being given to engage the services of a contractor, and the anticipated cost is more than $5,000, this committee reviews the Request for Proposal (RFP) and then carefully considers the responses from hopefully at least three vendors.  I say hopefully because some-times it is difficult to get three vendors to respond.

Why anyone would want to “circumvent” this process which has been part of standard operating procedure (SOP) for perhaps the past five years is very peculiar.  Need I say “road paving” as an example of what I am alluding to?

This committee is a very important committee.  The present chair of the committee is Barbara Cornish and prior to that was Dom Guarnagia.  Some time ago one of the present UCO officers informed one of the committee chairs that the committee was “irrelevant”!!   That is not only self-serving but an insult to the work being done; to the time being given by the volunteers on the committee and last but not least to ALL the owners and residents in Century Village.

This nearly $1 million dollar line item in the new budget needs to be itemized and scrutinized; the unit owners deserve no less, after all, they are the ones paying the bills.  We certainly don’t want another road paving fiasco do we?

And, last but not least, remember what Mr. Lincoln said “. . . but, you can’t fool ALL of the people ALL of the time.”

Questions on Admin Expenses

GENERAL & ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSE - $856,935

Oh my!  That’s almost $1 million.   Yes folks, $1 million and no details to be had.

What a nice “slush fund” and place to spend money without anyone knowing.

So, Mr. O’Brien, I’m certainly not implying that anything is being hidden.  However I do believe that it would be only correct and proper for you to provide a full itemization – including the dollars appropriated for each of the line items you have included.    

In the past, this might have included landscaping, taxes, legal, insurance, office supplies, salaries, taxes and many more.  I would suggest that you give the delegates the respect they deserve before having to vote on an issue as important as this one.  It’s not only the TOTAL dollars that count.  I remember often telling everyone – “watch the pennies, the dollars take care of themselves.”

And then, of course, there’s Mr. Lincoln – “BUT, YOU CAN’T FOOL ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME.”

A RESPONSE TO ANDRE LEGAULT

I have no access to the “private” blog.

 

You have suggested that I contact Mr. O’Brien for answers to all my questions.  That is not at all the purpose of my postings.  The purpose of the postings is to call to the attention of all the delegates, all the residents, all the owners that fact that something just doesn’t seem right.

I have my suspicions as to how all of this has come about.  I think I have a very good idea as to who might be behind this thinking.  Putting all the “eggs into one basket” is a very very good way of concealing expenditures.  Let us not forget that I served as UCO Treasurer for five years in total - under two different administrations.  When I was out of office the road re-paving fiasco and the shuffling of money took place. 

Additionally, when sums of money are quoted differently at the drop of a hat; and in the same publication at that, what is one to do?  Not ask questions?  I don’t think so.

So, Mr. Legault, I believed and still do believe that it is important to let as many people as possible know of these discrepancies.  My asking questions and getting answers privately certainly would not accomplish that.

If all is on the up-and-up, why has there not been a public response to any of the questions I have raised?  Not even a public acknowledgment except by persons like yourself.

Questions, Questions, Questions

A QUESTION FOR MR. O’BRIEN

Sir – I have read your proposed budget as printed in the latest edition of the Reporter.  I note that figures differ from the Budget Summary that I have which is dated December 15, 2014.

The first is Reporter income.  The original $135,575 as indicated for 2014 has been decreased to $110,000.

On the other hand, General and Administrative expenses have been increased to $856,935.  The original was $610,560.  The net result of $271,950 has somehow or another appeared as “corrected total” on your spreadsheet.  A detailed explanation is requested.

Let’s continue further.  The grand total of unit owner contributions to UCO this year – 2014 – was $6,699,011 calculated to $71.08 per unit.  The Reporter was self-sufficient and no money was collected from unit owners to support this endeavor.  Channel 63 was listed as a Cable expense.

Your present proposed budget is for a total of $7,145,000 or $75.81 per unit.  The monthly increase per unit now calculates to $4.63 – a far cry from the 20 cents you have published.

I think an explanation is in order.  Abraham Lincoln once said “You can fool some of the people all of the time; all of the people some of the time, BUT, YOU CANNOT FOOL ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME.”

I am also tired , but I do not agree that we have a stable, happy community and healthy community.

If you watched or attended the delegates meeting including the last meeting you would have seen how overwhelming vote turned down his three year push for village wide Wi-Fi.

You now read in the UCO reporter 1/2 of the issue is still pushing for Wi-Fi.

You would see Howard O'Brien dance around his latest 2015  Budget when challenged. You would see him turn down Numerous delegates requests to have a meeting to explain or change the this fairytale budget which adversely affects the village.

You will now read more of the same in this bias UC0  Reporter.

You would have heard David refuse to let me make a perfectly legal motion to do a four year forensic audit for free  and then say" you do not need a motion I agree to let you do the audit.

That was on Friday what you did not see or have not heard that on Monday when I went to Howard our Treasurer he said he knew nothing about it," speak to David" who would not see me.

He sent a message on Tuesday which said " I changed my mind".  Why? Because he is not to be trusted and must have something to hide. We are talking about 3/4 of a million dollars.

This is not a stable community. I do not know if you ever heard of Neville Chamberlin " Peace in Our Times".

Do you know what followed?

There will be no peace in Century Village until  these injustices are corrected.

Reject the Budget, NOW

REJECT THE NEW BUDGET?

Rumor has it that there may be a plan afloat to reject the budget that has been printed in this months’ Reporter.  The purpose of this posting is to present to all a scenario of what might happen were this to occur. The present budget would remain in effect.   This is the budget prepared for 2014 for a period of 12 months.

 We must, of necessity, bear in mind that there are certain major contractual obligations that will become effective at the first of January 2015.  They are increases to both the Cable and Transportation contracts at 5% and 3% respectively.  Where would this money come from?

Additionally, this budget includes the $2 per month that has been added to the monthly fees paid to UCO.  This is the money that was set aside to fund the Wi-Fi project.  The very same project that was defeated at the last Delegate Assembly; the very same money that, according to the minutes of the meeting, was approved to be added to the general reserve fund.  The very same project that was put on the “back burner”. We could use this money to fund a potential shortfall in payments to Comcast. Extra dollars would become available due to the dramatic decrease in the price of fuel.  I have no knowledge of the per gallon price Mr. O’Brien used in the preparation of this new 15-month budget.

Additional extra dollars might be obtained by re-thinking the lease/purchase of all or some of the new security cameras.  Do we really want Big Brother watching our every move?

And then, there is what has often been called an austerity budget.  That means, no frills – buy and pay for only what is absolutely necessary.

So folks, this is what is called a rock and a hard place and Mr. Lincoln had nothing to do with that.  It is important that you consider all the options, the benefit or detriment or necessity for each and every service and purchase.

$$ in the Reserve Fund?

HOW MANY $$ ARE SET ASIDE IN “RESERVE” FUNDS?

Once again, I direct your attention to the latest edition of the UCO Reporter.

Let us begin on Page A2 – Minutes of the Delegate Meeting – December 5, 2014, “Treasurer’s Report . . . . balance sheet showing assets . . . includes funded reserves of $1,448,000. . . “

Now we move on to Page A7 – Treasurers Column – 3rd paragraph right hand side “. . . and a $700,000 Infrastructure Reserve . . .”

One figure is half of the whole. Or perhaps the whole is twice as much as the actual. So, which is it? How are the residents to know? Where is this money? In sweeps accounts, in CD’s, where? Is this real money or anticipated funds? The figure somehow or another relates to the 2015 budget so perhaps it is not yet money in the bank (so to speak).

We can look also at Page A3 – State of the Village by David Israel – 3rd paragraph left hand side

“. . . our Reserves are steadily accruing . . .”

Again, OK, accruing where? From where? And once again, where is this money? Or perhaps I should say “show me the money”.

“Assuming” that the 2014 reserves are fully funded and adding to that figure all money collected for Wi-Fi as well as the balance that had accrued to December 31, 2013, the total (according to my calculations) should be $1,109,350 plus a very small additional amount for interest earned.

So there you have it. Three different numbers for the same line item. So, Mr. O’Brien, perhaps you would be good enough to provide a detailed listing advising all details of the reserves as mentioned above.

I think we all know by now just what Mr. Lincoln would say, so I don’t think it is necessary to repeat it.

Where did the WiFi money go?

Wi-Fi MONEY – WHERE AND WHY?

I call your attention to the most recent edition of the UCO Reporter. Let us begin on Page A2 – Meeting Minutes.  In the third column you can read as follows beginning on the sixth line:

“. . . Jean Dowling made a motion to put Wi-Fi money back into the General Reserve Account.  Motion seconded by Honey Sager.  Vote was taken, 116 in favor, motion passed.”

Now, I direct your attention to Page A7, Mr. O’Brien’s column specifically.  The last paragraph in the first column from the centerfold at the bottom of the page. 

“. . . The delegates also voted to keep the Wi-Fi funds intact rather than transfer them to the Infrastructure Reserve.  These funds will be held in its current bank account until such time when the Delegate Assembly approves Century Village Wi-Fi or votes to cease the efforts to install Century Village Wi-Fi.”

Are not these two statements in disagreement with one another?  To further confuse matters toward the end of his column, Mr. O’Brien says

“. . . The budget was prepared with an expectation of transferring approximately $377,000 of collected Wi-Fi funds to the Infra-structure Reserve.  This will not be accomplished.  The shortfall of the Reserve will only INCREASE by this amount.”

Please note that the emphasis on increase is mine. So – where is the Wi-Fi money – General Reserve Account per minutes of the meeting or Wi-Fi specific accounts?

Read Below Minutes of the WiFi Committee written by D.Israel and Ed Black

Discussion of Comcast Hot-Spot deployments and the two and three year contracts. This along with their building by building approach is denying us a major Doorway fee. Rogue Associations allowing Comcast to "divide & conquer" Then we discussed the "Broadband Services" concept which would bring Cable TV, High speed Wi-Fi Internet and a professional income producing Web-Site for CV. A Doorway fee could be negotiated, as we have competition between major providers, EG. Comcast, AT&T.. . Etc. Create new Committee; Broadband Services Committee.
Hugh will be approached to Chair new Committee, after Officers approve.

Bring in CSI to prepare overarching RFP.

These are the minutes from the recent WiFi Meeting. First off who do we  have competing for our business. AT&T, Comcast and who else? There are no other providers in Florida. I know this and the Sneaky Wizard knows this.

Secondly, what are they talking about a major doorway fee, which I am denying by using Comcast Business in my Condo. Are they for real. Are we going into the WiFi business? I see Ed Black's manipulated hands in here!

What is it about the Delegate Assembly votes. Don't they count? We, the DA, voted down the WiFi effort and the Wizard is putting it back up again for consideration. We said NO. Get it, NO WiFi. What is it about NO he doesn't understand?

We also said put the WiFi money saved back into the reserves. Has this been done? We also advised the President to not use CSI. Their efforts in Boca are hardly a success. But NO he still wants to use them. What is going on here? They are his favorite and only vendor. Why is that? Is there a fudicary connection there?

What is it with this Guy? We say NO he says YES, over and over until he sneaks it by us and gets what he wants.

This time he is not going to get away with it.

And his remark that the DA votes on WiFi was led by a misguided few is absolutely false. Do you consider a vote of 78  against WiFi, and 152 for, a vote by a misguided few? The misguided few are Israel and Black.

We read his minutes and I think he is out of his mind.  Are we going into the WiFi business. Who Okays the use of CSI to develop our Web site income producing sites. Is he nuts.

We must get this guy out. He is out of control. A Doorway fee? Comast is dividing and conquering? Is he kidding? This is a retiree community not a business. We are all retired.

I think the Wizard has his dirty hands in everything. Especially the writting of the minutes.

In any case, this looks grandiose and too big for most of the people. Do the Snow Birds need it?

Even the existing TV cable system is too much for many residents. Chelle Konyk Esq. who did our cable contract said that she could have done it by herself (within the $14,000 fee contract) without the $300,000 payment for CSI !!!???

Some interesting facts about Xmas

At the 2014 Oscars, they celebrated the 75th anniversary of the release of the "Wizard of Oz" by having Pink sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", with highlights from the film in the background. But what few people realized, while listening to that incredible performer singing that unforgettable song, is that the music is deeply embedded in the Jewish experience.

It is no accident, for example, that the greatest Christmas songs of all time were written by Jews. For example, "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" was written by Johnny Marks and "White Christmas" was penned by a Jewish liturgical singer's (cantor) son, Irving Berlin.

But perhaps the most poignant song emerging out of the mass exodus from Europe was "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". The lyrics were written by Yip Harburg. He was the youngest of four children born to Russian Jewish immigrants. His real name was Isidore Hochberg and he grew up in a Yiddish speaking, Orthodox Jewish home in New York. The music was written by Harold Arlen, a cantor's son. His real name was Hyman Arluck and his parents were from Lithuania.

Together, Hochberg and Arluck wrote "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", which was voted the 20th century's number one song by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

In writing it, the two men reached deep into their immigrant Jewish consciousness - framed by the pogroms of the past and the Holocaust about to happen - and wrote an unforgettable melody set to near prophetic words.

Read the lyrics in their Jewish context and suddenly the words are no longer about wizards and Oz, but about Jewish survival:

The Jews of Europe could not fly. They could not escape beyond the rainbow. Harburg was almost prescient when he talked about wanting to fly like a bluebird away from the "chimney tops". In the post-Auschwitz era, chimney tops have taken on a whole different meaning than the one they had at the beginning of 1939.
Pink's mom is Judith Kugel. She's Jewish of Lithuanian background. As Pink was belting the Harburg/Arlen song from the stage at the Academy Awards, I wasn't thinking about the movie. I was thinking about Europe's lost Jews and the immigrants to America.

I was then struck by the irony that for two thousand years the land that the Jews heard of "once in a lullaby" was not America, but Israel. The remarkable thing would be that less than ten years after "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was first published, the exile was over and the State of Israel was reborn. Perhaps the "dreams that you dare to dream really do come true"(Please pass this on to someone who doesn't know.)

Rules and Permissions

The great one, the cowardly Lion, the wonder boy has out did himself with lies and useless rules.

How about the rule the the President of the Camden Group of Condos is not allowed any info on the group. That is if the President of this group asks for UCO's list of Camden Presidents, their Emails and Telephone numbers. She is refused. Does that make any sense?

How about the wonder boy's remarks at the last DA concerning the forensic audit and that he don't need "no stinking vote." Then 2 days later he negates his okay? Does that make sense?

How about when the DA indicates its desire for a roll call vote. What did he do? Nothing!

What about the fact that Dorothy asks many good budgetary questions. Are they to remain unanswered?

There are problems with the budget. There is a sneaky plot underway to remove all Banks accounts except for one. The problem here is that with 1 account they can spend money as they want without any regard to money that is put aside and who is to know?

It seems as if Howard O'Brien is playing tag with the numbers I can read in the Party paper 2 articles about the budget with different numbers. Not good. Who do I believe?

Village problems and the President

So what is going on here? The problems with our Village are getting bigger and bigger. First off, recognize the fact that the President is slowly and surely grabbing all of the Public Voices. He is controlling them. He does this by threats. These threats are not audible but they are known. For instance a threat to take you off a committee. A threat to stop your access through the gates. A sarcastic comment on his private blog. Re: The Uniters Club Dance.

But worst of all is his operations. for instance be it known that David Israel owns the Reporter. Nothing is printed in this paper that does not follow the party line. Nothing is printed on his PRIVATE Blog that does not follow the party line. Nothing is done at the Club House that does not meet with Israel's approval.

And it getting worst still. Look at his attempt to control the Delegate Assembly. His tools are the Gavel, threats and banishment. He is not beyond stating his opinions from the Chair (against Roberts Rules). He will make pronouncements of his power even after the delegates call for a vote. For instance the offer of a Forensic Audit was made and a vote was asked for. Israel said the vote was not necessary, that was Friday. On Monday the Okay was rescinded. Essentially the President lied to our Face.

The problem we have with UCO is that the Budget now calls for a decrease in our UCO dues by $6 per unit. Israel says the Treasurer cannot change that number. Except he has changed the number, twice! This time he says he can not. If the budget has extra money in it, why NOT pass the savings on the unit holders?

Why is he still talking and promoting the WiFi? This is a dead issue per the Delegates.

Why is he talking about Comcast and will happen 5 years from now. Who cares? And what about these rumors that the number of bank accounts are being reduced, eventually to ONE account only. What is the reason for this? From my perspective one account makes it easier to use monies that have been earmarked to be used for something else. Follow the money. Who can follow?

Please note the unhealthy situation that now exists in this Village. The UCO Reporter is controlled, with Bias & Omission articles. Those that are opposing Israel's positions are excluded. So the Messenger Club is not allowed to present it side. If it is opposition, it is silenced.  If a mention is made of a opposition statement it might be only 1/2 truth. The Reporter is controlled, not by UCO, but by D.Israel. Channel 63 i controlled by Israel. The Private blog is controlled by Israel.

Talking about the Uniters Club Dance. There is a problem here. Israel decided that the Messenger Club was behind the charge for the dance. Where he got that from is beyond me. This is just another example of his paranoia. He sees his enemies everywhere. Behind every tree. His enemies are behind ever action that appears to be detrimental to D. Israel policies. Weird and frightening.

I was just reading the online UCO Reporter, and noted the upcoming meetings.

Why, if Wi-Fi is a dead issue, is there a Wi-Fi meeting scheduled for January 30?  Here we go again.............let's keep voting on the same issue until the self proclaimed 'great one' gets what he wants.........just like he did with term limits. What a joke!!  I believe the wi-fi monies that we paid in for the last 2 years should NOT be kept in the general reserve.

Let's give it back to the people it belongs to!  If we leave that money in the general reserves, I can almost guarantee that Mr. Notwonderful will make up a need for it and it will be gone before we can snap our fingers.  Keep your eyes open for some more condo renovations or new Lexus items around the village.

I can only imagine the scene at the UCO office when Ed Grossman CPA. arrived to follow up on his promise of performing a free audit of the books. It had to be something like this.

One of the volunteers enters the office and informs the president that Mr Grossman the CPA is here to see him. What? Replies the President “ It's only Nine O'clock and he's here already ? Hmmph.” “He says you said he could come anytime and see the books” says the volunteer. The President sat for a moment with his hand on his chin thinking of a way out of this , then announced ” I'm not allowing it . I changed my mind”

The volunteer stood, shocked and replied” Do you think you could tell him, I think he would be pretty angry about that”
“No I'm not telling him” said the president” “you tell him “ But I don't want to” cried the volunteer “ look I'm the president , you do what I tell you or you won't be allowed to volunteer anymore, I'll have you relegated to the ranks of the Malcontents, you wouldn't like that now would you ? “

The volunteer stood nervously shuffling her feet.” But what can I tell him? She asked “ I don't know what to say. He's going to want to know why”. “ Why “,said the president . “It's because he's a malcontent, we can't have malcontents in here poking around, and that's reason enough for me” “ Besides I don't like him”. With a quivering lip the volunteer quietly left the room and closed the door.

I can't say this happened this way for sure, I wasn't there, but it had to be something like it.

The 6 Million $ Man

The six million dollar man/scam.

What does six million dollars buy today? A question that many residents of Century Village have to ask themselves.

The promise that Steve Austin (The bionic Man ) could be rebuilt to be better, faster and stronger at a cost of six million dollars was the central theme of the story. The recent re-paving of century Village held the same promise of better and stronger but residents are now faced with a future expense of fifteen million dollars to do it again and get it right. Much like the paving project, Steve Austin was rebuilt under a shadowy secret government agency that operated under the cloak of national security. Luckily they got it right the first time and Steve worked flawlessly , no doubt due to the researchers and technicians who did their homework before embarking on actual construction.

The Six Million Dollar Man TV program did not dwell upon the intricacies of Government expenditures, but the success of the project was largely due to the unsung heroes, experts who examined and questioned every facet in detail before inviting any contractors to take part, specifications were developed and they monitored every phase to ensure that no one was cutting corners .

Steve wouldn't be too happy if he had to limp around on a malfunctioning bionic leg and his bosses wouldn't be happy if they had to go and ask for another fifteen million to fix him. I'm sure they knew quite well that if they got it wrong there would be a lot of hard questions coming their way from irate taxpayers who would not tolerate wasteful spending of their hard earned
dollars. The residents of Century Village are now faced with the prospect of shelling out a lot more of their hard earned money to rectify the glaring mistakes made in paving our beautiful village. The Bionic Man would never allow this waste of money from the pockets of the citizens , Steve is a champion of the common man who worked to bionically defeat wrongdoers and right the wrongs in society.

If he had retired here in Century Village he would vote NO WAY on the proposed budget for 2015 and help us banish the culprits forever. Perhaps we could find him and coax him into running for president of the village in the next election . I mean: he is better, faster and stronger than before. He always defended democracy with a sense of fair play and decency. What more could you ask for in a president ?

I have spoken to many people in the Palm Beach County government and they all said this method was legal, unjust and immoral but that never seemed to stop David Israel and his Crew. 

I ask you what are the odds of all of David Israel's people winning year after year. You just ask Susan Bucher the Supervisor of Elections for Palm Beach County and she will tell you that that would be impossible.

  

Don't Allow David Israel And His Crew To Hijack The UCO Elections. Demand that all counting be done in front of all of the UCO Delegates.

So this is what we are up against. If the the TinMan(no heart, or is he the cowardly Lion-no guts) doesn't like what you are doing he will come down on you with everything he has. And so that is what seemed to happened to the Club Uniters. The great one thought they were raising monies for for Malcontents (is something wrong with this?) and therefore he tried to squash them.

Then a few hours later the correct facts surfaced and he  realized he made a terrible and embarrassing error. He then duly apologized for the error. Which fixed nothing. The harm was already done. To an Innocent party. Apologies don't help.

The point here is he goes off like this frequently. At the committee meetings, at the officers meeting, even at the delegate meeting. When he is the Chair and in charge and supposed to be fair and just.

This is paranoia in its best. We have to get him, and his minions out before something even more serious happens.

Dear Century Village Board of Directors:

It has come to our attention that there has been some discord with the proposed blended budget put forth by UCO.

This letter is to inform you Seacrest Services Inc. will only be paying for the first quarter fees that were on the 2014 budget. There will be no payments made at the new rates proposed until we have confirmation that the budget has been passed by the membership.

This is a unsigned letter from one of the Property Managers, They are trying to clear up the confusion about the 2015 billing against a unpassed Budget - Not allowed!


Yes they are charging the first quarter 2015 equal to the first quarter 2014. Since the blended rate has not been approved  by the Delegates, nor for matter has the  budget - Vote NO on this. So until the delegates pass the Budget and the blended rate, they remain assessments. All illegal if we read our changing By Laws.

What is wrong with the 2014 bill to be paid in 2015 is that it includes $2 per month for the WiFi. This was turned down. There should be no charge for this. So therefore the $2 X 3 months=$6 should not be paid. Reduce the bill accordingly.

Or pay the $6 and your Cam will carry it on your account as a credit. Either way you do not pay the wifi extras or any increase in 2015 dues.

We Still have time to tell them!

At last there is some news about the care and protection of our roads. 

At one of the last discussions about the roads it was pointed out that the $5 Million spent to repair the roads was a waste and the repair jobs would have to be done over again at least at a cost of $5 Million or more. To this end a Lawsuit was set up by Ed Grossman, Myron Solomon, et al. suing UCO for $5 Million for essentially derelict of duty and irresponsibility and a lousy road job.

Now it turns out the Cam not only agrees with us and the Lawsuit, but if asked, Dom G will tell you that the roads have a life expectancy of 15 years, and the expense to repair them properly would be about $15 Million. This is because they now want to do the road repair properly. That is the roads have to be milled (something that should of been done the first time) to be properly prepared. Something we said over and over again.

The plan is now for the UCO officers to advise the Delegates at the January 2 Meeting of all this. To what end I know not, except maybe this is paying for the roads twice, and may be suing our selves is not such a bad idea. How are we going to raise $15 Million? Are we to vote on it? How about some discussion on this before hand. Do I have to tell that this expense is coming out of your pockets! How about some detail on exactly how UCO plans to raise the money.

Worst of all is the altitude of these 2 officers. They say we don't have to tell the Delegate Assembly just yet, there is plenty of time. What's the rush? Time for what?

In the meantime we have not heard from the Great Slippery Chairmen on all this. But we will! 

I see the Cam has, in his report, moved the WiFi money to "On Hold". Has he forgotten the Delegate Assembly voted to put this money back in the reserves? Is this another ploy to resurrect the Israel's WiFi efforts? What is voting the WiFi cache back into the reserves at a vote of 68 to 250 that they don't understand?

I see the fascists are running amok on Israel's private blog. We cannot allow this kind of talk. Israel, who has kept all the opposition off of his blog, should do the same to the Fascists. Not to remove the Fascists is to join them! The one Fascist we have, Peteyboy, is probably aligned with Cheneyboy and a proponent of the torturistas (one who tortures.)

Avoid all this.

Messenger Club Meeting Report

The last Messenger Club meeting was over the top. We keep getting more and more people. This time we practically filled Room C with people. But more striking was that no body left and at 4:30 when the meeting was over no body wanted to leave.

The subject matter was the Forensic Audit offer which was accepted at the Delegate Assembly by the Great Chairman and then, 2 days later he cancelled the approval. The audio of the DA transaction was played for the audience.

The next item under discussion was the budget. Ed Grossman explained why this version of the budget should be voted down, a NO vote is call for at the January 2 Delegate Meeting.

Those of you that handle your Associations finances probably got a bill from UCO with a terrific increase hidden in the General section of the budget. It probably included $6 for WiFi plus a $2.17 increase. Be it known that the WiFi thing was turned down so there should be no more WiFi payments. As for the $2.17 that is an assessment of which UCO cannot do. The assessment is illegal!

We suggest you only pay what you did last year. Do not pay any of the increase. Vote NO on this Budget and hope that the Treasurer will do the right thing and submit a correct and sensible budget.

All the extra monies that the treaurer found should show up in the budget and should be in the reserves. The WiFi monies collected should be in the reserves.

I hope that we are done with Village wide WiFi. It was voted on and turned down by a mighty majority. It should not be brought up again! I repeat as the Great One said, "WiFi is over, it is done!"

At yesterday’s successful Messenger Club meeting, Stewart Richland made a suggestion that we   consider using hand held electronic devices for voting in the delegate assembly. He was absolutely correct. 

The present use of hands up counting is archaic and often creates a dysfunctional vote.   David Israel has suggested the same option as Stewart but as usual Mr. Israel does nothing but TALK, TALK, and TALK.  As a matter of fact, he will make certain to spend our money on things we do not need in order for him to remind us “it will cost money."  He then goes on to say, he will look into it yet; he never does - 

so much for DAVID’S LOOSE LIP’S PROPAGANDA.
