NOTICE TO CONDO ASSOCIATIONS WITH GAS GRILLS.

According to a spokesperson at the fire Department, before a hurricane, propane gas tanks must be stored separately from gas grills.  If your association has a gas grill, disconnect the tank from the grill and store it in a separate place.

Don't get hung for a dog !
WPRF is  taking on  security at the clubhouse and rec. facilities and UCO is getting some money  deducted from what we already pay for that part of the security contract There's no saving for Cv'ers there .  Why security needs to be split into two separate contracts, one for WPRF and one for the rest of the village is beyond us.
Now when there's a security snafu, the two companies can blame each other for it.
The committee was asked for $453.000.00 for the deal , But someone  tried to sneak in the cost for an extra car with a price tag of $16,000.00. This car would be specifically charged with patrolling the pools, checking everyone's id cards, and writing reports about people breaking the rules. You know;: people drinking lemonade or wearing skimpy bathing suits or whatever. It is a real problem. Sometimes people who aren't supposed to be there actually crash the pools and suck up all the water.
Barbara Cornish objected to buying  another car as the committee previously agreed to turning over the security of the facilities to WPRF on a dollar for dollar basis.  She reminded the committee about the previous agreement that did not include another car, and objected to coughing up the $16,000.00 that WPRF wanted to buy it.Then someone on the committee suggested that the security officers could be supplied with a $9,000.00 golf cart, with headlights so the officers could patrol at night. Why would the golf carts need headlights anyway? No one uses the pools after dark do they ? Someone else thought that it might not be nice for the security officers to be riding around in a golf cart exposed to bad weather. Bad weather ? This is South Florida. what bad weather are they talking about. ? A bit of rain maybe? Heck. let's keep the sixteen grand and get them some bicycles and  raincoats. . That idea got a big PFFT from the rest of the committee and the idea of buying another car hit the skids, saving us the sixteen grand they wanted.
It's a good thing Barbara caught it because it flew over the heads of the rest of the committee.Who were distracted and were excitedly rustling their papers in the thrilling anticipation of participating in another spending spree.
Ed Black was quick to quote the previously agreed  figure after Barbara raised the alarm.  Then David Israel chimed in once the cat was out of the bag and decried purchasing another vehicle.I wonder why neither Israel or Black said a word about it until Barbara complained. Maybe they need another car to go get snacks for the volunteers at UCO.  or something. That errand could be accomplished just as easily with a golf cart too !
They really showed they don't have a lot of moxy in asking for 16 grand for a car. I mean if you're going to try to put one over on the committee you might as well go with some gusto. 100 grand for a nice new sleek Mercedes would be more like it.  You can't buy much of a car for 16 grand,  Why get hung for a dog when you could get hung for a horse?

David Israel's WI-Fl plan puts his hands deeper into your pockets.

Despite clear evidence of overwhelming opposition, David Israel is forging ahead with plans to initiate broadband WI-Fl service in the village. The new plans outlined at a committee meeting calls for increased rates for a package of     internet or telephone   and cable T.V. services.
Atlantic Broadband representatives were queried at the meeting about the scope and the costs of the proposed project. It is clear that an original proposal included the ability to choose TV itself or additional services for each individual association. Those choices were withdrawn because of David’s passion to Wi-Fi the village despite not having the authority as is clearly stated in the bi-lateral agreement. The issue of universal Wi-Fi has been turned down several times by the delegates. In actual fact, it is not up to the delegates as a group to approve universal Wi-F. It falls to each individual owner because of our core documents. A recent Florida case underscores that fact.     A recording of the meeting can be heard by opening our website (www.centuryvillagemessengerclub.com) and clicking on the audio player in the top right corner of the homepage.

Our calculations based on figures presented by Atlantic Broadband reps proposes an additional cost of $25.00 a month per unit over and above the $33.00 fee we pay now for cable TV service. Doing the math puts the total additional cost of the ten-year contract at around $24,000,000.00.
That’s a princely sum of money to lay out for a service that   most residents don't want , and it's a bit disconcerting that David Israel would entertain any idea of initiating WI-Fl or broadband or anything else with an enormous outlay of money without a  legal authority to do so while  subjecting UCO to a possible lawsuit.
An article explaining the plan is published in the latest edition of the CV MESSENGER which is posted on our website.
Opposition for the plan comes from among others the many snowbirds who are opposed to paying extra fees every month for a service they will use only for the few months they are in residence. Then there is the residents who will be compelled to pay but don't own computers, don't know how to use the internet and show little if any interest in it.
Notices that Broadband committee meetings are being cancelled for one reason or another are posted with a not too surprising frequency. Without committee meetings plans are being formulated in the dark with little or no input from residents.
Standing back and allowing David Israel to continue in his crusade for WI-Fl can only lead to higher monthly fees attached to each and every condo in Century Village. Rosy predictions that condo prices will be enhanced by the addition of WI-Fl don't add up when one considers that one of the first things prospective buyers investigate is the cost of monthly fees they will be taking on with the purchase of an unit.
HIGHER CONDO FEES = LOWER PURCHASE APPEAL.
Some associations in Century Village have already installed WI Fl in their buildings at an average cost of $5.00 a month per unit and are not tied into a ten-year contract. Many other Associations have opted out based on prior failed efforts to force this folly upon the village. Many other unit holders are   experiencing difficult financial times and paying for a frill they do not want is a nonsense.     Compared to the $25.00 a unit proposed by David Israel's plans it's not hard to see the fallacy of Israel’s plans
The bottom line is that David Israel has no authority to negotiate a contract. His plan takes away any choice you may have in choosing service, and the increases in fees will be mandatory and universal.

They are spending our $769,000,000

Myron Solomon, an outspoken, no-nonsense kind of guy, attended the recent emergency meeting of the Operations Committee to object to UCO's actions in handing over $769,000.00 to WPRF to replace the broken down air conditioning units on the clubhouse.
He was immediately assailed by the President, David Israel, and threatened with removal from the meeting for speaking his mind. Despite the threats, Myron stood his ground and spoke his piece. His contention that UCO should not be compelled to pay for the new units was pretty much ignored by the committee and his request that the issue be resolved through arbitration was just as readily ignored.
Kudos for Myron for being one of the few people willing to step up and object to what he sees as an unwarranted spending of our money without any consultation, inquiry, discussion  or documentation.
Myron went on to say that the committees' failure to seek arbitration and proceed with their intention to hand over our money without further discussion leaves no alternative other than the launching of a lawsuit to clarify the issue.
You should hear the recording of the meeting by clicking on the link below and play the recording on the audio player on the homepage of our website.
The Messenger Club is currently reviewing the Millenium Agreement. which requires a minimum and the addendum to the long term lease.  Details will be published in a special edition of the CV Messenger which will be published shortly. Stay tuned !

Wi-Fi costs per David Israel

A QUOTE FROM DONALD TRUMP:

“I will be the greatest “JOBS” president that God ever created.”

ARBEIT MACHT FREI was the sign at the entrance to Auschwitz and other labor camps. It means, “Work will make you free.”

Need I say, more?

Trump has many apologists.

How come the question about Trump and his latest pronouncements cause the Trump supporters to feel the need to explain his meanings? What is it about Trump that he can not explain a simple thought simply?

What is it about Trump that causes many of his supporters to support him even though they feel that he needs to be explained and translated?

What is it about Trump and his supporters that ignore the truth of the matter and complain about things that were not said or mentioned?

What is it about Trump that he says one thing, clearly, and his followers immediately take it upon themselves to translate it into another meaning? Some of it wrong and insulting some of it backed off and less so.

What is it about Trump that causes him to say one thing today and tomorrow say the opposite?

What is it about Trump that leaves him to say one thing to-day and then when the opposite turns out to be true he will grab that position and claim it as his own, to the death. Denying all proofs to say otherwise?

What is it about Trump that denies all his lies? That he will deny all proof of his lies even though they are irrefutable?

And more importantly what it about Trump's defenders that drive them to deny all proof of lies or better yet to deny all proof that Trump is lying and has lied? And more, how about the thought that Trump's lies are sooo... big that can he can not be called on to answer for them?

What is it about Trump that causes Good Men to accept his outrageous lies and do nothing?

What is it about Trump supporters that cause them, when under attack, to immediately change the subject and attack Hillary and her Emails?

I think I have heard all I can stand about the Emails!!

Messenger #24

Disrespect for the flag, fans and the American people

For a while there, the great one was allowing me to comment on his blog. But, no more. Only members of his exclusive club can comment. So if I have something to say I will say it here. ITMT I rescind his right to comment here!

So, I do have something to say. First off, as much as I hate it, I agree with Lanny Howe, hit them where it hurts the most, in the pocketbook. These guys have forgotten where all their success comes from.

And while I am at it, I will say the Short man has forgotten where and how his success came from. So that is going to change. Quickly.

No More Delegate Assemblies

So, what has happened to our beloved Delegate Assembly? We have had 4 in a row with nothing happening. We did not even have enough delegates to hold a legal vote.

Ever wonder why?

The reason is obvious enough. The delegates are tired of being pushed around. They are tired of being told what to do and when to do it. Those arrogant statements, which keep coming, has annoyed the delegates enough so that they don't bother to show up. So, without the right number of delegates, we don't have a quorum and so we don't have the right votes available for a vote.

So, what is the solution?

We have to get rid of that arrogant President of UCO. That self-centered President of UCO. That Conceited President of UCO

This has to be done and done soon. The way things are going we will never have a quorum. If he keeps this up we will soon see a loss of the Assembly as a functioning voting body.

Then, what are we going to do?

What is the problem with the lack of information concerning what is going on with our lakes? What is going on with the lack of information concerning our roadways?

Nothing. I keep hollering about the lack of action by UCO on the roads and lakes. This is their mandate to take care of the infractures within Century Village. To see that our quality of life stays as grand as it was at the start.

They are failing miserably at this job!!

We made a big mistake in electing him and his coterie this last election. The next time around it will change.

Is this possible at Century Village, WPB?

Ain’t technology great? Watch this short Video and you will be in wonderment. How could this happen?

Joseph Stalin said,”It’s not who votes.  It is who counts the votes”

STEALING THE ELECTION??? DOES IT HAPPEN ??????
This is a video of ordinary election workers checking the "machines".
You will be glad that you took the time to watch.

This could explain a vote count in a precinct that is higher than the number of people within that precinct.

To Tow or NOT to tow?

So, I see the great one has decided to expand on his querulous answer to towing or not to tow? His answer answered no questions at all. His answer only raised more questions. What is it about this man? Can he not answer a simple question with a simple answer?

His answer raises as many questions as we started out with. Maybe more.

Yikes!!!

Written and Posted by Neil Moore

The frustration of dealing with your HOA board of directors is a common problem across the United States. Here is a list of the most common problems associated with HOA's .

Fraud by Property Management and Condo Board of Directors. This tops the list. There is a constant stream of corrupt officials being caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

Proxy forgery by Board of Directors this is particularly prevalent with absentee HOA board members.

Changes to By-Laws and using forged proxies to approve.  Especially when elected officials do not attend meetings or the board is dominated by a few people

Lack of communication from Board of Directors. We hear this complaint all the time

Lack of transparency by Board of Directors and Property Management. Directors keep residents in the dark for fear of exposure of incompetence or mismanagement.

Misuse of Reserve Funds. commonly employed for "special"projects by officials.

Special Assessments and no explanations. This is used as an excuse to raise condo fees, sometimes to cover shortfalls in the budgeting caused by mismanagement or outright fraud.

The increase of Maintenance fee and no explanations.  The real reasons for raising fees may be unacceptable.

Conflicts of interest with Service Providers.  Service providers have been known to overcharge , especially when they have to kick back to the contract holders.

Conflicts of interest with Superintendents, Property Management . Hiring family members or friends as managers is not a good idea. These positions should be awarded at arms length to avoid underhanded collusion.

No bidding process by Board of Directors in awarding contracts. it gets expensive if contracts are awarded without competition, and leaves the door open for corruption.

Board of Directors refusing to reply to Owner's correspondence. it's either corruption or laziness, either way, it's unacceptable

No notification relating to servicing units ie. fan coil replacement etc. Someone's brother in law might need the extra cash for doing work that is not needed or approved by the owners.

Unauthorized entry without notification. You don't want anyone poking around in your home without your knowledge or consent.

Noise issues and other complaints are not investigated. in many cases, the complaints are lodged against the "in crowd" and are hard to pursue or get any relief.

Manipulations and deceit by Board and their supporting Condo Owners. It may not be just the board members who are incompetent or corrupt, the people supporting them and voting for them may have a stake in the game

Fees attached to the unit for payment with no explanation. This is a great way to get some extra cash to hand off to friends or family members in the form of inflated contracts.

Implementing Rules and Regulations without notification to Owners. Rules are sometimes implemented as a way of punishing or deterring owners from speaking up.

Abuse of Power of Condo Board Members and Property Management

The reason there is apathy among Condo Owners. Fear of retribution from Board of Directors. It can be anything from a refusal to include owners in decision making or membership on committees to outright harassment.

Smear campaigns if a Condo Owner complains. then ostracizing  or ridiculing are among the ways directors deter owners from attending meetings. labeling outspoken people as troublemakers or in the case of Century Village " malcontents ' is another tactic commonly employed by unscrupulous directors.Discrimination and slander go hand in hand with smear tactics.

Owners feel Powerless and have  no easy way to protect their rights. it can be expensive and time-consuming  to assert your rights through the courts. Owners either don't have the money or don't want to get involved in a long and contentious lawsuit.

Harassment and defamation of character. When you can't defend the issue , attacking  the character of the person raising it is a good way to avoid the complaint.

If any of this sounds familiar to you, you can take small comfort in knowing that you are not alone. The problems listed here are very prevalent among condo owners,The only way it can change is for honest and well-meaning people to get involved and monitor the activities of the board, then speak up and to listen when others raise issues that affect  you.

None of this applies to Wellington A, for sure!

And then there is the towing situation!!
