MISSION STATEMENT FOR PRESIDENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF UCO

Posted by Esther Sutofsky - President Select

The goal of the Presidency of UCO is to serve the needs and residents of the Village in all ways. It is to supervise and oversee the physical infrastructure of the Village as well as its financial stability. The President must gather and use the abilities of its residents in the pursuit of the above stated duties.

The President must take it upon him/her self to observe the laws as they pertain to the Village and forswear all personal gain or profit, other than knowing that the mission has been fulfilled. The President must take upon him/her self the goal of presiding over an administration which puts aside all personal animosity and makes the best effort to encourage a collegial atmosphere in both the government and the Village in general.

The duties and the responsibilities of the President must be recognized as an awesome and fearsome burden and accepted as such by the President and any others who serve and/or volunteer for UCO. They must all acknowledge that they are there to serve the community as a whole and not themselves in particular nor any single interest group. Only then will UCO have the administration it needs and that the Village deserves

  1. Now that makes sense.
If only the Current administration would follow these guide lines.
Life would be good again in Century Village

  2. Fear not, we are going to put in a administration who will live by these words.

  4. I thought I would use the Comment section of this post to ask a few questions about the following portion of the statement that appears at the top of your blog:
"This is Esther Sutofsky our President Select. This is an Open and Public Blog. We are against the thoughtless Residency rule, We are for the Dump Dave movement, We are against the Wi-Fi initiative." Three parts of the statement leave me a little baffled.

    1. What is a President “Select”? A president-elect is one who has been elected but not yet inaugurated. Under "President Select" in Google, I can find only something in the state of Texas, seemingly unrelated to CV.

    2. For purposes of answering this question, please leave Dorothy Tetro out of it. Is the "thoughtless residency rule" you are against the present one, ANY residency requirement rule, or a particular change in the present rule that was proposed?

    3. Does being "against the Wi-Fi initiative" mean you are against Wi-Fi in the Village period? It sounds this way from the statement or that you are against undertaking it anytime soon. But in places on your blog it seems you ARE for Wi-Fi, and possibly sooner rather than later, but simply feel more information about it needs to be compiled and the "deals" more thoroughly examined.

    4. I have no question on the "Dump Dave" part. That's clear enough even though I disagree.

    Thank you.

  5. Lanny,

    In answer to your questions:

    1. President select for the purpose of Century Village is a qualified person who was selected by a special group of talented, able and intelligent people to run for President of UCO.

    2. We feel the present residency rule in the bylaws is sufficient.

    3. We are against Wi-Fi at this time simply because we do not have the money in our coffers to pay for it now. We want Wi-Fi in the future after it has been investigated thoroughly and we feel confident we have gotten the best system for our money. We do not want any rush job like the road paving fiasco.

    4. Yes, " DUMP DAVE" speaks for itself. We want a President who manages, not one who gets his jollies sitting at a computer all day.

    1. Dear Bob Rivera/AKA Fred Sanford
Thanks for the compliment of reminding me that I am one of the select few who do not need to buy a Halloween costume.

  6. Thank you, Olga, and I see you added "and its rush to judgment" to your Wi-Fi statement, which is clarifying.

  7. Thank you, Olga. I could not have said it better. All Dave wants to do is make up new rules and regulations to go his way, when for the most part we have enough bylaws to work with, as long as we do it honestly and openly. Where the problem arises is when procedures to work with are either corrupted or forgotten, leading to financial and practical calamities such as the paving, the thoughtless and financially moronic emptying of our reserves, the damn poor paving job and now the looming wifi issue. Lanny, if you can ask such questions, I believe it is time foe you to come out in the open and stop trying to present yourself as such a calm and objective mediator between sides of an issue. You are obviously one of Dave's coterie and should say so. Enough with all this opaqueness and subterfuge.

  8. Esther, I have made it clear in past blogs and comments that I like and support Dave Israel. Also, and I have told you this, I don't see myself as a MEDIATOR. A mediator tries to mediate between two parties. You have me pegged wrong if you think this is my intention or I fancy myself as such. Apparently what you would like me to do is become a "hard line" this or a "hard line" that, agreeing with everything that one side does or everything another side does. I'm not built that way, and I don't think most people are. On many issues, I don't know enough to form a reliable opinion. One may say, "Well, go to the meetings and find out!" but it's impossible to go to all meetings about everything, and, frankly, my interests are a little broader than just Century Village. I tend to go by those whom I think from my past experience know the subject matter well and have good judgment; but this, as with non-CV matters, is an evolving thing with me. I don't thing I'm that far out of the mainstream in this. One thing that helps anyone form an opinion is having the issues and the positions on it FRAMED clearly. Thus, my comments on this post.

If my remarks on your blog get under your skin, Esther, I can stay off your blog.

  9. You do not get under my skin nor have we asked you not to post, but after reading your words I still cannot get a read on you. You purport to be an independent man yet how can that be so since if one does not agree with Dave he bans you from his blog and his life. It is his way or the highway. We do not agree 100% on everything on our team, but we are jus that - a team - and welcome opinions and diversity, unlike Dave. Read my postings and you will find a clear delineation of where we stand on issues and on morality in government. More will be forthcoming and most important, read the mission statement and then tell me how Dave can possibly measure up to it s he already has violated many of its precept.

  10. Friends, I have decided to stand as an Independent candidate for president of UCO..
    I will spell properly.
    I will write in sentences.
I will not use words unless I know their meaning. This includes Latin phrases.
I will never use the word kabuki.
I will not use my position as chair of meetings to abuse others.
I will not dismiss those who disagree with me as liars (though I do admit that among the Israel-ites there are more than a few ninnies). I will not call anyone at CV a Nazi or critique their choice of wigs or put the worst possible construction on other people's motives. I do not have "enemies" and will not regard others as enemies.
In short, I will act decently.
I am standing for election because I am the only candidate -- thus far -- who would bring to CV some of the leadership attributes it needs in a president.
