Yes you do need to say more. Quoting the sign at the gates of Auschwitz makes for good propaganda, but facts are facts. Fact: Adolph Hitler and his Party were socialist democrats (National Socialist German Workers Party) NSDAP otherwise known as the NAZI party. Trump and the RepublicanParty are not trying to take away the rights of it's citizens by banning guns... If you know your history, Adolph, Mao, Joseph and Vladimir banned gun ownership from their respective countries citizens and that in turn made it MUCH MUCH easier to have a dictatorship. Not much resistance from unarmed peasants, is there?
And yet resisters and others had guns but dictatorship was not avoided. That comes about because people hate, are looking for others to blame for society's ills and their own and from fear. And many people with guns fell right into line with those who supported dictatorships of any kind and look what guns are doing today in countries al over the world. And please do not get me wrong - I believe in the Second Amendment and its rights - but in moderation - no assault rifles and greater care when allowing gun purchase. Why people object to checking whether someone has been involved in violence or has mental illness is beyond me. What is wrong with that and how many more mas shootings are we going to allow.
At the time the bill of rights were written, they did not have assault weapons, the closest thing was a cannon, and you don't see anything in any amendment string the restrictions of owning a cannon, do you? Simply put, if you can own a cannon, chances are you can own an assault rifle. and 90% of the people in the street are not educated enough to determine what is an assault weapon. an AR15 may look like an AM16A1. But it is not an assault weapon. An M16 A1 IS an assault weapon, the big difference being one is semi auto, meaning you have to pull the trigger for each shot, and the other is auto. One pull n the trigger and it is capable of emptying a whole clip with one Pull of the trigger.
Bob, I am not even sure that one ca own a working cannon. I believe there are restrictions on that and as far as semi assault and assault rifles, one can easily shop on line for the conversion kit or perhaps find someone at one of the many shows that are held. There is simply no use for such a rifle other than to kill someone or someones! I do not believe we are at the point of "come the revolution" and such guns are not healthy for anyone - not the owners nor the targets. And you will never be able to convince me otherwise. You know many people in Israel walk around with a pistol or even with a rifle slung over the shoulder but there is a reason for that and those who have them are well trained in their use.and when to use them.
they have definitely have a reason for that. The military are required to care their weapons at all times, even when off duty. the vast majority of the people that have them here are also trained to use them. There are states that do not have the restrictions for automatic weapons, yet you don't really hear of them getting out of control, do you? You have a Constitutional Right to own and bear arms. that is plain and simple. If is not a right to be taken lightly, there is reasoning behind that right. It is the right to defend yourself against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. I first took that oath on October 22, 1975 and it still holds today.
