     David Israel has opened up his big guns as he seems to begin an all out war on the financial safety and well being of the Village. He has accused the plaintiffs in the lawsuit of all sorts of dastardly motives, when the truth is that they are trying to get the money for the repaving that we will so desperately need. He tries to pawn off huge gaps in the walkways as mere and unimportant cracks, passes off flooding that occurs to the point that people cannot get out of their homes without boots as mere puddles. Come and see the Waltham and Stratford areas after a heavy downpour. Come and see the "puddles" in the Andover area, "puddles" that were never there before the repaving.

 David Israel, where the hell do you propose to get the necessary funds for these corrections such as you are planning to do in a small section of the walkway by Dover for $25, 000? Multiply that by all the areas that need immediate work and where, where, where?!!! Or perhaps you should leave it alone and then deal with the many lawsuits as people trip and fall, bikes are upended and safety is compromised for the many who skate, powerwalk, etc every day on the perimeter walkway. Would they then be "suing themselves?!

     Part II of the waste of our money - the new RFP for WIFI. Once again some hard questions were asked about the installation and here is David Israel's answer -

"I believe these issues raised after the vendor selection is made, are matters to be determined in contract negotiation."

Again, RFP response from a company to be determined without questions being posed. Another half assed project.

So what is going on? We dont ask questions until after the Vendor is selected. Then we ask the questions and if we don't like the answer, what then?

The TinMan speaks out!

The TinMan is speaking at last. The problem is that he doesn't have his facts straight. How can he say there is a mysterious Law Suit out there suing someone? He know exactly who is being sued and why. He says he could of saved us $700,000, from where?  He says we should not support the malefactors (I am beginning to like that name), this coming from a Administration that has operated as inept and on the borders of Criminality. To say nothing of their Malfeasance. His frivolity, which he seems to take delight in when speaking about the lawsuit, is a stupid move. This is a serious lawsuit and should not be taken lightly. Maybe that is his way of showing bravado.

Did I not predict that the next disaster coming would be the Wi-Fi effort? Don't get me wrong, I want Wi-Fi as much as the next man. I just have not seen any smarts. However this latest RFP shows some smarts and class, so we wait and watch, quietly..  So far that effort seems sane and intelligent, but lets be patient.

The TinMan calls us a Campus, when everybody knows we are a Village, not a University, You have heard the expression "it takes a Village". Just more of his propensity to show us how smart and slick he is.

I want to congratulate Olga for her performance in explaining the Law Suit, and I want to congratulate the Delegates for their polite attention. (I guess the noisy impolite ones were not there) I am wrong there, they were there like birds sitting together on a wire - quiet for change.

I have been and remain interested in our village having Wi

Fi and have attended many Wi Fi Committee meetings. My

looking forward to having Wi  Fi did not cloud my

appreciation for the criticism of the work of the committee

leveled by people who spoke against it. Although I think

that some of these were truly aiming their opposition at the

primary proponent of Wi Fi, David Israel. Still other

criticism of the direction the committee was moving were

to my mind worthy of consideration and helped to abort

the initial search for a vendor

The most recent committee meeting shows how right

the critics were having brought about a new search effort that

should serve us well, as the committee has formulated a

new R.F.P to be presented to new and additional potential

vendors, with a 90 day response time - it has declared it’  

intent to locate an experienced attorney with the expertise

to review any vendor contract - it has designated UCO

Treasurer Howard O’Brien as the contact person on this

project - and it is considering locating a person with the

expertise and experience to serve as Project Manager.

Many of these items were offered by those critics of the

original search as needing to be addressed and now they

are. Still there remains a long way to go. We can’t know

where this new search effort will take us. I for one am 

hoping to see it bring us Wi Fi , but am prepared to listen

again to critics and judge for myself.

Norwich Condominiums to Receive Additional Water Control Valves

In an effort to improve service to customers in the Norwich condominiums, the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department has developed a pilot project to install new water control valves around the community to help isolate breaks for repair. This will reduce the number of residents impacted during water line breaks or other construction. Additional fire hydrants will also be installed and a water line serving Norwich J will be replaced.

Construction will begin the first week of May and continue to the end of July. During this time residents can expect to see construction crews and machinery at construction sites in the area. Crews will excavate water lines where new valves will be installed.

The County Water Department does not expect any water interruptions but will inform residents of any scheduled turnoffs due to construction. All disturbed areas will be restored.

This pilot project is part of the County Water Department's repair and replacement plan. There will be no charges to Century Village residents.

     Thanks to the help of Gary and Gerry, I have been able to set up my own blog where I am able to sound off on whatever comes to mind. It is indeed liberating. I will continue to post on the blog as well so don't worry, David Israel and Co., I will not forget you!

Unbelieveable and yet, True

Here is the original road contract, plus the comments made on the Roads by Dom G. Read it in wonderment and weep.

Notice that Dom complains about the shoddy and poor workmanship and notice also the whole was not paid for at the time, and futhur notice it was signed by D Israel only, three times. There was monies still owed. So what did the TinMan**  do? He immediately paid them in full.

How did this happen? Well the smart ladies of the Tinman will tell you the Delegates did it. And that is true. The Executive Board voted Yea, the Operation Committee voted Yea and for that matter the Tinman garnered as many yea votes as was necessary to get it Past. BUT, and this is the big BUT. Where was the leadership that should have looked after the Village? Where was the Presidents advisory that should of, would of, forestalled this disaster?  No where, that's where!!  Any ration man would of held monies back as a performance bond. But not the Great Tin Man he does not treat his friends in that manner.
