A QUESTION FOR DAVID ISRAEL

      Here is a question posed by Marilyn Pomerantz, a former officer of UCO, and a hard working asset for the Rag when it was the Reporter, before she was thrown under the bus. It asks a question that is concerned actually with the lack of honesty and transparency in the present UCO administration.

"David:  I have been looking for the video of the Officers meeting which took place Thursday, August 27th, 2015.

Where is it?  

Do you not want the people of CV to see what was discussed, what is happening at these meetings?  I think it is important that people hear what is being said, see what committee members are actually attending these meetings and what is happening here in the village with WPRF and all of our other committee meetings. All meetings should be on your blog and on Channel 63."

Can you believe this??

I have been told that the proposed by law amendments were soundly defeated at the Executive Bd today. No shock there when we have puppets of David there for the majority. However, I am given to understand that the demented one stated that since these by law proposals were defeated so soundly THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO BRING THEM BEFORE THE DELEGATE ASSEMBLY.  Is this not grounds for immediate removal from his position on Friday. There certainly has to be a fuss about this, even a riot if need be at the DA on Friday. This cannot go without a response and a strong and determined one at that. help! Does anyone know the best way to proceed?

This  has to be a complete disregard of the By-Laws and a complete disrespect of the DA. This absolutely calls for the recall of this completely out of control person.

First I met him at Publix, where he was mumbling "Cyber Terrorist" over and over again. Like a person completely out of control. Now the Cyber Bully, maybe just plain bully, is trying to abscond with the Delegate Assembly!!

Don't allow it, fellow Delegates! We are the CEO's, we are in charge. UCO should only be advising, but if he don't allow us to advise our sense and Consent, if we allow the President to take over our functions, then all will be lost. 

For sure your resale values will go into the tank. The world will be aware of this power play.

Fire in Dover - updated

Pictures of a fire in Dover this Morning. Nobody hurt, but the Unit was burned out.

Karen Brand, the lady who narrowly escaped the flames in her burning apartment tells me that the smoke alarm did not sound. She was awakened by the smell of smoke. Judging from the devastation in her unit it is obvious she escaped a fiery death by the skin of her teeth. A few more moments and she would have been trapped in her bedroom. It is not only a caution to others to check their smoke alarms but gives rise to the question of how one would escape a fire such as this. Her unit on the third floor has only one exit,  Karen had to run past burning furniture to escape. What would you do if you were trapped and unable to get out the only exit ? What could you do if you are unable to move quickly like  many residents of CV. Why are there no fire escapes ?

Stack the Votes of the Operations Committee

I am again reading the Very Private Blog of David Israel. The Blog that purports to be the Century Village Blog, which is limited to only his friends and Minions.

The complaint that the mumbler has against the By-Law changes that are offered is that they may intrude on his ability to force his rule on the Unit Holders.

He is afraid that if any of these by-Laws are passed or if all of them are passed it will affect the way he is now dictatorially running the Village.

True enough it will. Is there something wrong with tightening up the By-Laws so that what happened at the last Operations Committee meeting could not happen again?. That meeting did not have enough votes for a quorum. So what did the great one offer up. He said we should pick 3 or 4 of his friends, pro-tempore (temporary), so the Vote could move on. He could not wait to stack the Vote. This is not allowed with the proposed By-Law changes.

This is a prime reason why he is against the By-Law Changes.

We Need Term Limits to end this.

More Bits

First off, while shopping in Publix on Haverhill, near the Post Office I ran into a short, rotund bald headed guy.

I said Good Morning, since I recognized him as the UCO President. His reply was "Cyber Terrorist, Cyber terrorist, Cyber Terrorist"

I though  for a minute that the man had lost it. He was mumbling this over and over again. I met him 2-3 times as we worked the aisles.

But no, he was not out of control, yet, that was his way of insulting one of the Unit Owners in CV.

Pathetic.

Now as for the argument that all this divisiveness is ruining the resale value of the units. They, the loyal Minions, feel that our remarks concerning operations as run by UCO is ruining the resale value of our units.

My argument is that if things were run normally and fairly, if things were run normally and sensibly, if only the By-Laws were followed, there would be no need for an opposition, no need for malcontents.

They fault for all this lies square at the doorstep of UCO. If you need some proof look to the people that were fired for no cause. Look to the elected officers that quit because of the way they are treated by the head of the present administration. Look to the attempt to fix the voting by putting in people that are loyal and when the Committees need voting members. Israel wanted to stack the Vote at the vote

This, by the way was turned down, hollered down, by the Officers Committee and visitors. As it should be.

If you are worried about resales values, maybe you are in the wrong place.

After all this is a retirement community.

The Dummies are Coming out!!

THE DUMMIES ARE COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET LIKE COCKROACHES, and the UCO Reporter Rag is  giving them a platform to express their ignorance.

The latest one goes by the name of Hugh Green, who begins by saying a small segment of condominium owners have been on their own quest for justice, which is slowly eating away at our way of life. He later declares if this trend continues we may reach a point where new potential residents will not want to live here because of the adversarial atmosphere that currently permeates the village.   Read the stats in the UCO Rag Mr. Green. More and more people are buying and renting in this village. People are clamoring to move here.  Possibly because as you inferred in your article, they do not give a rat’s ass about the politics in the village. The only thing they know is, it is affordable, convenient and the amenities are fantastic.

Of course, this all could change in the future if people like you continue to support the current administration that is running the village to the ground with its useless spending.

Get a grip Greenie!

Bits and Pieces

Phylis Seigleman has quit her post at UCO as recording Secretary.

Do we wonder why? Well here is the answer.

She quit because she had gotten fed up with the demeaning remarks coming from her President, David Israel. That is what happened. Watch the UCO Operations Committee video and watch Israel throw her under the bus with his snide and demeaning remarks. His specialty has become to insult his employees, to debase them, volunteers or not.

Shameful.

She could have quit partially, because the heat from the CVMessenger complaining that she had no right to remove the CVMessenger newspaper that was left on the door knobs.

In either case it is sad to see a UCO Volunteer quit. Almost as bad and thoughtless as seeing a Volunteer fired for no cause.

About the complaint by the CVMessenger that it is disrespectful to hold a Committee Meeting on the Highest Holiday that the Jewish Faith has, Yom Kippur. Please be advised that the powers in charge, after saying that he could not change this date because of a holiday and that would cause him to change all other meetings that fall on a holiday. Such as Xmas, Good Friday, Easter, etc and what about the Islam holidays? Can't be done. According to this man and it shouldn't be done.

But  common sense finally took hold and he reversed himself and changed his mind.

Pretty much like the dumb remark he made about the Sheffield O situation. On that one he declared that"nothing could be done about it" that is until the CVMessenger brought it to everybody;s attention. And then he called in Mr.Levy to solve the problem.

BARBARA CORNISH NEEDS HELP UNDERSTANDING

It appears Ms Cornish not only has her head in the sand, but she does not understand the inference of my article.  I simply suggested the only way you can rid of a person in office is, TERM LIMITS.   She said, “If you don’t like the people in office, you can’t vote them out. You don’t need term limits.”  Well Barbara, if you read my article correctly, you would have noticed that I did say – you can  vote them out of office as well.  You also neglected  to understand the meaning of what I said, which was the problem with voting a person like David Israel out is  because he controls all the century village  media necessary to run  a campaign with an even playing field.  This leaves any opposing candidate left sucking wind trying to tell the residents why they should vote for them.  It is too bad you do not understand this simple premise.   
You very own husband is trying hard to get a management company. Ask yourself, why that is?

She keeps repeating the same song, which is, if we do not like the president of UCO, we can throw the bum out - in other words; we can vote him out.  Ms Cornish appears to have her head in the sand because voters only have a chance to throw the bum out when they are both playing in the same field.   She does not take into account the fact that candidates running against David Israel do not play in the same field because they are barred from promoting themselves in the UCO Reporter, channel 63, the clubhouse or the pools.  Candidates who oppose David Israel must use their own private funds to make their voices heard - this puts them at a serious disadvantage.  Unfortunately, Ms Cornish does not have the foresight to understand this as she continues to sing her favorite lament. It is for this reason and this reason alone; she must begin to learn a new song:

 “Throw the bum out, SUPPORT TERM LIMITS.”  

Trump and Lunacy

And now we have Trump shamelessly exploiting this issue even more. He’s calling for an end to the 14th Amendment’s birthright principle, which guarantees citizenship to anyone born here, and also for a government program to round up all 11 million illegal immigrants and send them home — an utterly lunatic idea that Trump dismisses as a mere “management” problem. Like lemmings, many of the other G.O.P. presidential hopefuls just followed Trump over that cliff.

This is not funny anymore. This is not entertaining. Donald Trump is not cute. His ugly nativism shamefully plays on people’s fears and ignorance. It ignores bipartisan solutions already on the table, undermines the civic ideals that make our melting pot work in ways no European or Asian country can match (try to become a Japanese) and tampers with the very secret of our sauce — pluralism, that out of many we make one.

So here we are. We have our own jungle growing at the Haverhill entrance. This is not supposed to happen. A Notice of violation was delivered on July 2 . The owner of this property had until July 22 to fix it. That is  20 days to fix the lawn or pay $1000 per day in fines.

So far nothing has happened the owner is ignoring us, or rather ignoring the Palm Beach Planning and Zoning department.

One thing we could do is email the Zoning Commission at bhilker@pbcgov.org and tell him it is time to enforce the notice of Violation.

There are over 7,500 units here in Century Village. There are approximately 15, 000 residents here,

The vote totals were 71. 71  people, total, voted in Israel's private election on his private blog.

Sheffield O and David Israel.

Did you ever take a closer look at David Israel in the Video he made with Terri Parker. The video is about the Sheffield O situation. It seems to me the "We can't do anything about this" President now waxes elegantly. He is trying to infer that he had a major role in this. The fact is he took all of UCO's marbles and went home.

The CVMessenger really got it all started and finished as far as it is finished. With no help from David Israel and friends.

A Friendly Reminder From The Messenger Club Wednesday August 26, Meeting Room C in the clubhouse,  10.00 am A critical meeting Agenda : The proposed amendments to the by-laws A review of the Advisory committee meeting Bus transportation and the actions of David Israel in throwing Lori Torres under the bus. Planning for the protest rally in opposition to Mr Kelly's activities at Sheffield O.

Typical and Predicable.

So what happened at the Advisory Committee meeting yesterday? Not much that was not expected. The whole committee was there, minus 2.

Pretty normal for this committee.

The agenda was the discussion and voting on the By-Law changes that finally reached this committee.

The way it works is this. First the petitioners must meet all the rules for submission. That is, at least a 25 name petition is submitted asking for changes. The names must be vetted. Originally the signers had to be Delegates, then someone read the rules and pointed out they only had to be unit owners. Huh?

Then the petition, passed or not moves to the Executive Committee and then on, eventually reaching the Delegate Assembly.

So what happened?

They got hung up on the term when the by-law action take place. There was a statement in there that changes that occur are to start immediately, that is if Term Limits are passed they become effective now, instantly. Reading the by-laws I don't see that. The change is meant to take place at the beginning of the next election cycle. But the pseudo attorneys on the Board, especially David Israel, all pontificated otherwise. So it was turned down, all of them. But do not despair, the petitioned changes moved on, passed or not.

The only Body the really counts is the Delegate Assembly.

There was a lot of discussion on this particular wording, but the outcome was predicable. These people are against anything that the opposition brings up, no matter how good and good for the Village it is.

These Committee Members must of sensed that their jobs were at jeopardy and so to protect themselves voted it down. Typical and predicable.

I will say that Ms.Gordezter was fair in running this meeting.

Well, it is not over yet.

D.Israel does not want to follow his attorneys' advice. Surprise surprise!!

There is a letter from Israels attorney, which does not copy good, basically he says yes you are part of the UCO Directors and are entitled to the information.

So note again the President of UCO does not want to comply.

I know nothing.

We the proponents of good, honest, transparent Village Government have been talking about the lousy Road job for over a year now.

But now Mr.Fausto declares it an emergency. The poor Road job has all of a sudden become an Emergency. Therefore the Bid Committee is by passed. As a matter of fact all the usual constraints  to prevent poor management can now be ignored.

But the worst part is that the VP in charge of overseeing says I know nothing about this.

What are we to do?

I want it my way!

He has tried everything he could think of. He has call Al, our cop to hold down the objectionable ones. That didn't work. He called the off duty PBSO cops to monitor the Delegates behavior, that didn't work. We paid for that. Now he is talking trash on his Very Private Blog. How is that going to work for you?

Talk about bullying, who is the bullied now?

What never crosses his mind is to sit down and discuss the problems of the village, in a orderly and sane manner, and see if we can solve some of them. No that is out of the question. He wants it HIS way or the highway.

A regular debate, a Town Hall meeting with freely inviting comments, all subjects, no shouting down allowed is what is needed here, at least as a first step. Do you think that is in the makeup of the the Enlightened one?

Bullied, but who?

So his slickness has orchestrated a Vote for and against the investigation into By-Law changes. So what. There are something like 15,000 residents here and over 7000 units so the total votes so far total 40! So what? Also the VPB allows only 100 commenters, what about the rest of us?

Further there is a post on the VPB, aka The Very private blog, that says poor Mr. Israel is the subject of bullying. Oh yea? Since it is his choice to yell in the DA at speakers, to demand their removal, even to to call the cops on him. I ask who is being bullied?

I am the head of UCO, The President of UCO. Hear me roar!!

I think the leader of the free Village should promote a free and open discussion, a debate, if you will, on these proposals. If these proposals are really important, and they are, then proponents and opponents should be able to speak about it publicly at the pools, in the streets and believe it or not at the Very Private Clubhouse.

The choice as to who says what, when and most importantly where is not up to only his nibs. It should be all open and free!

The Fox is on the Attack!!

So lets see here. Fatally flawed by complicated inconsistencies. This is the way the Wizard in office 101 in the UCO Building talks about the try to change the UCO By-Laws so that they make sense. There is nothing complicated about it at all. 

What is a wonderment that this was tried before by, of all people, Ms. Gordetzer. She went so far as to hire an attorney to over see it at a cost of $6000. What happened? Nothing. What happened to the $6000? Nothing. It is gone.

So where are we to-day The protagonists, those that oppose by-law changes are sitting in judgement. Can you believe it. The Gordetzer's and the Israel's are in charge of seeing that these by-laws that are being submitted reach the Delegate Assembly. This is like putting the foxes in charge of the Hen House.

The last time this was brought up it was cabashed, and if left up to the team of Gordetzer and Israel they will try to cabash it again.

Come on Aug 20th, at the UCO office at 10AM and let your thoughts and ideas be heard!!

How can this happen?

When Fausto first showed up on the UCO scene we all thought that he was going to be a ray of sunshine in the murk. But NO he wasn't and isn't. Before long you began to see that he was taken in by the embrace of His Honor David Israel

So then he, if he did not began to Look like the Great One, he began to sound like him.

He began to utter the Party Line, and pretty soon you would have trouble telling apart who was who.

His greatest claim to fame was that he is the President of the only Club in the Village that is incorporated. Not True!

I began to think that Israel had Fausto join UCO so that when election time comes maybe he, Fausto, can swing his Club's votes toward David Israel.

Now since we see what kind of VP Fausto is making. How he does not have the knowledge for the jobs he has. The knowledge that he readily admits he does have. For example the Stripping contract. An area of which he is in charge of he admits to having no knowledge as to the cost, the total Contract price. Also he is not the President of the only Incorporated Club in the Village. There are 2 more, one of which is Residents for Justice.

So Mr.Fausto, so far you are a disappointment. You cannot be taken in by the aura of D.Israel. You must be your own man.

Term Limits will not solve this problem,but will help.

Rest in Peace

MAY HE REST IN PEACE

It is now time for the residents of Century Village to adorn themselves in their finest attire and attend the funeral of Mr. Ed Black.  Mr. Black, is a man who has made one too many mistakes in the operation of the village.   He has reached an  end in his career and needs to be put to rest.  His latest failure, the security contract should be the last time he has any responsibility in chairing or being on any committee in UCO.  When he submitted the Kent security contract to the delegates,  he did it with such urgency, they were forced to accept it before they had a chance to review it properly and vote on it.  As a result, Kent Security turned out to be an entire failure.  A failure Mr. Black refuses to accept.  He blames the failure on not having the time to supervise Kent because he was too busy with his other duties.  He could easily have asked any member on the security committee to assist him, but he did not. He chose to use a lame excuse, which resulted in the guards not having adequate training.  Mr. Black lacks the ability of a person needed to head a UCO committee.  He should resign voluntarily or be forced to resign.  This is the second most crucial time Mr. Black failed in his duty to represent the residents. The last time was when he pushed the delegates to vote for the road paving which was a five million dollar wasteful disaster. It is now time for Mr. Black to relieve himself of all duties and put himself to rest.

Smoking or Not.

The Loss of our Cam.

So what is really going on behind the Ted Herrie situation?

First off most of this information is from Ted himself. Some of it from people who spoke or questioned Ted and these are his answers.

Number one, his resignation, or firing. occurred at least a week before the DA. So, and rightly so, it was asked why wasn't the DA advised?

In the second place Ted himself complained about the politicking going on all around him. This was very disconcerting, and probably at the very least annoying. As we all know.

Even his leaving was treated politically. The letter of resignation was probably asked for by Israel so that he could prove that Ted quit and that he could use it to refute the opposition. So was he fired?

So it looks as if Ted left without giving fair notice. I don't think so. He probably quit in person at least a week or more before his letter was posted. So in fact he gave the required 2 weeks notice.

As far as Yellow Journalism is concerned. It is the kettle calling the tea pot black. We, on the blogs, have only told the truths as we know it. The Yellow Journalism tag belongs to David Israel and his Reporter!

Schadenfreude (a feeling of enjoyment that comes from seeing or hearing about the troubles of other people.)

So here is a little post by the friendly and polite St.David Israel. Please note the the Great One is using Esther's term for the Rag's output, yellow Journalism. He is again snipping at the opposition and is showing us his knack for schadenfreude. Personally I liked him better in his silent mode!

Silence from UCO.

We rail and yell, sometimes wring our hands over the wrongs we see here in Century Village. Most of these wrongs can be traced right back to St.David Israel. Right now, I guess, we could call him the silent one.

Because no matter what I write on this blog, or What Esther Writes on her blog, http://estherblogspot.blogspot.com/ or what Neal writes in his weekly newspaper, http://www.centuryvillagemessengerclub.com/  the Great one is above it all. He says nothing. His actions speak louder than his words. No words, but plenty of Nefarious action.

There is no refute from the UCO Boss or from his minions (blind followers). All is blissfully silent.

So maybe that is not a bad things, maybe it is good. Good for us in that we are not harangued by lies, innuendos, schadenfreude and downright misstatements.

We are not driven to distraction by his people saying things that are blatantly untrue. Watching the arrogance and overreach that comes from, so far, his successful determination for a lifelong Presidency.

But this will end. This must end.

Did you ever wonder why the Sheffield O situation was bubbling and simmering for 3 years before it became an outcry. Thanks to the CVMessenger and it headline. CV is a Homeless Hotel we are all aware of what is going on. But for 3 years or more UCO, specifically the President, was aware, His remarks about what UCO could do about this was "nothing can be done".

Yeah, nothing. until it became public then he ran to Daddy, Mr Levy, to help in the solution.

So far not much has happened.

Or how about the firings of Volunteers. How about the firing of Howie Silver for having the audacity to sign a petition to remove Israel. What is right and fair about that? And of course when Howie brought it up at the last Delegates Assembly, the Great President was immutably silent. But I will say it. He fires mostly for political reason. If you oppose him then the chances are you will be fired.

This also will change. This must change. And you, my readers, must and will change it!!

We need a public advocate for CV. I think we have one in the CVMessenger. What do you think?

Ted Herrie quits his job as CV CAM for a smaller, less aggravating job. He was disappointed that this change was not announced at the DA. Was he fired? Or was he annoyed enough by the VP's.  He is leaving at the end of the month? We wish him all the best. This is from Ted himself.

Date of the Advisory board meeting to consider the 5 by-law changes is 8/20 in the UCO Meeting Room. The last time we tried this the  board got lost in the minutiae and nothing was accomplished. This time we hope for better. All should attend.

What are the changes proposed?
a. Term Limits for the President, and Executive Board members.
b. Term Limits for all officers
c. No elected officer should be involved in the management of any media. Reporter, channel 63,
d. No officer, executive board member shall have exofficio (look it up) privileges. Which means no more than 1 vote on any issue.
e. No officer, exec bd member shall more than 1 vote per issue.

The music at the Wellington East Pool is via efforts by our Public Advocate, Ed Grossman. He set the WI-Fi. If we get Pandora's Music it will be by the loan of a PC by yours truly.

More Bits and Pieces

In answer to Bettie Lee
So Bettie Lee has propounded that you need 51% to make your building smoke free. I am guessing that the rules she applies are those rules that Ms Bleckman see fit to apply. It is her assessment that the Board of Directors can make no rules. That if they do they are not applicable or forcible unless a majority of the unit owners says so. And if that occurs then the people that live there now do not have to obey the rules. They are automatically Grandfathered in. The rules are only for new residents. Which means a  smoke free building is not smoke free until all the smokers move or pass away.
Ridiculous!

Lost Vice Presidents (AWOL)
So where are the 2 VP's? They don't make meetings. Excuses are made for them at meetings, generally by the Chair. But what is the matter here. I know that, with the approval of St.David Israel, they have more than one job. Is that the reason? Perhaps it is as I have mentioned before. If you are the editor of the Reporter do that job well, not half way.

The Transportation Committee
The transportation Committee is fiddling with the Bus schedules (not my words, but Israel's). Because of this the Committee is getting complaints from the regular users. And I am getting complaints from one of my readers that the victim, or the unit owner complaining is not really blind and has no right to complain. I say what does the fact that this person has a seeing eye dog and is registered as vision impaired have to do with his complaint?

Bits and Pieces

No Smoking anywhere in our Building.
It seems as if a Condo Association has passed a rule that there is to be No Smoking in the building. However the unit Holders will not follow this rules. Surprise, suprise!

CAM Resigns.
The rumor has it. Ted Herrie, our CAM, has resigned. He reported directly to St.Israel. Could that be the reason?

Delegate Timer
The DA Timer could show a little compassion when ringing the timer bell. If we all see a CV Citizen reading a prepared script and is having trouble we can all wait for him to finish!

Bus Schedules
The plea, by a regular bus rider should not be ignored. This resident read a complaint that the Bus Committee's constant changing and fiddling with the bus schedules was making things worse.

Even the President agrees. The fiddling is being done by the Bus Committee. The fiddling which changes the schedule of buses is unsettling and sometimes makes it worse. Sometimes the bus is overloaded. Sometime it is not.  It forces riders to figure out when the regular bus is coming. It forces the regular Bus Riders to constantly be on the lookout for changes to their regular bus.

This should stop!

Road Stripping
The UCO by laws are quite clear. All expenses, all contracts over $1000 must be voted on by the Delegate Assembly. So why not the road lane painting This contract ran over $10,000? The chair of the Committee did not seem to understand the by-law. Contracts over $1000 must be approved by the Delegate Assembly.

Is this another sign of the arrogance and boorish behavior of the UCO administration?

Security
We voted, that is the Delegate Assembly voted, to give Kent Security a 60 day notice of contract termination. This was done because they did not live up to the terms of their Security contract. Even after repeated reminders of this, they still ignored all our request for proper action.

By-Laws ignored and Overreach!

The UCO By-Laws specifically state that all non budgeted expenses over $1000 must be approved by the Delegate Assembly.

So why has the painting of the roadways contract been approved with no advice or approval before hand of the Delegate Assembly? The expense was in excess of $1000, way in excess.

The reason given was that it was an emergency! Can you imagine the slow failure of the roadway stripping is an emergency?

This is clearly another overreach by the UCO Administration, specifically the President, St.David Israel.

Do you think that the By-Laws exist for all but David Israel? He can ignore as he wills? He can flaunt his power at any time and for any reason. Do you think that an emergency of paint fading is a emergency?

This should not be allowed!

We need Term Limits!!!

Elections revisited

So you toe the party Line and rewards will flow your way.

Donald Foster aka don ho ho has bee promoted and appointed to Chair the Election Committee. This sounds fine except for the following facts.

Don Foster is the #2 man at the UCO reporter. When Joy Vestal is not there, which is very frequent, since she also holds a position within the UCO Administration, he is in charge. So we have a Election Committee chairman also in virtual charge of a major media outlet, the UCO Reporter.

Don Foster has been appointed to the Finance Committee, so their goes the rule of 1 bite at the apple. Foster can vote or decide at the Election Committee and on the Finance Committee.

Don Foster is a major contributor of articles that are published in the Reporter. The last issue he had no less than 3 articles. How many did the opposition have?

So we begin to see a plan here. Looking at the coming election we can see that St.David Israel is placing his people in positions of power. He wants his people in position to be the final arbitrator on who does what as far as the Election and Electioneering is concern.

I am warning all of us that this is not good for the Village. It is as if we are all back in Germany in 1930. The only people to stop this are the Delegates.

Repairs Cancelled?

Let me ask this. What is going on at all the repairs and non-repairs at WPRF?

Is the Billiard Room open or not?
Is the Pickle Ball Court open or not?
Is the Guest Pool and Deck open or not?

First they tell us this facilities are under repair. Now they tell us or at least on the Private Blog says all announcements for these facilities are cancelled. So are the pools, decks and Courts open or not??

Room to Electioneer.

So what is the matter here?

We have a election coming. But there are rules in place. Rules that are set by St.David Israel and his followers that preclude any body from electioneering anywhere in the Village. I mean you can not hold a meeting at any of the pools, you can not hold  a meeting in any of the many rooms in the Club House. You need permission. Which you will not get, especially, if you are from the opposition.

You can not advertise your meeting on Channel 63. You will not get space on the UCO Reporter. You are ruled out for any access any where in the Village. These rules are set by the UCO Administration, specifically the President himself.

So I ask what is fair and just about that. How does one electioneer in Century Village. It wasn't always that way. There was a time when you could have meetings any where in the Village. But not now. Not any more. Not for the last 5 years!

Not since David Israel took charge! So I ask you why did he do that? Why squash all the Opposition? I'll tell you why. It has to do with his desire to protect his legacy and that he wants to be President for life!!

Imagine President for Life!!

Petitions, UCO and Delays

So the CVMessenger had its Town Meeting Wednesday. It was attended by 53 people that wanted the facts. What bothered me is that unless you go to one of the CVMessenger meetings or read the Blogs you have no way of getting the facts. You hear nothing of  intelligence coming from the UCO Administration.

One of the things that was discussed was the need for By-Law changes. There is a need for a By-Law that says you cannot be in charge of a media outlet, channel 63, the UCO Reporter, and be on a Board that controls these outlets. Another was a rule that says you can only get 1 bite at the apple. That meaning you cannot be  a voting member on more than 1 committee at a time. And of course for the second time a Term Limits by-Law.

But worse yet. The rules, that are set up by St.David Israel,, are such that getting these By-Law changes and additions are virtually impossible.

The rules require that the form of the By-Laws Petitions be submitted separately and one at a time. And that the Petitions be actually signed. (Mail in ballots are not allowed). You cannot combine them. If you do not follow these rules your petition will be returned to you for redoing. These causes delay after delay. Petitions delayed is Petitions denied. Justice delayed is Justice denied.

So the CVMessenger is starting a Petition, or rather Petitions to address these issues. The DA will not see it presented for a Vote for at least 3-4 months from now, if then.

Is that fair? Is that just? The will of the DA is not going to see this brought for a vote until maybe November or December.

So if you are against these changes. One, of which is Term Limits, then the longer the delay the better. But for the good the Village, not so.

Term Limits Redux

The following is a compendium of why we should NOT have term Limits. Reading it carefully tell us that this argument wants to keep our elected officials in office for as long as possible. This is based on the hope, erroneously, that the longer a person stays in office the smarter he gets.

So without Term Limits we have the possibility of anarchy. Which is where we are now. THis must be stopped. Term Limits is one way to stop it. I am for  Term Limits!

The other side of this argument, and the the more likely, is that the longer in office leads to the likelihood of corruption, power hunger, overreach and eventually dictatorship.

Which is what we have now.

The argument that says if you want to run against the incumbent, then run for election doesn't make sense against this argument. The incumbent always has much more chances of getting elected that the challenger.

If a government body consistently has to break in new members and teach them the ropes, this cuts down on the amount of time that can be spent on real work. It also ensures we will have new, ambitious people entering the Administration. We have plenty of these!
