The real story of wifi

Now let us see if we can put this wifi issue to bed. WE DO NOT OPPOSE WIFI. WE ONLY OPPOSE THE PROCESS OR LACK THEREOF THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING. WE WISH TO HAVE WIFI DONE IN A PROPER AND ECONOMICALLY THOUGHTFUL AND CAREFUL MANNER.

We have undergone  financial loss or misspent money, budget games, etc under Dave's administration. Ed played his role to perfection. Enough, we say. Questions must be asked and answers must be given, complete and sensible answers before we spend the money. There already is quite a bit set aside for wifi but just because you have a dollar in your pocket does not mean you spend it thoughtlessly and to no avail. We already have spent too much of our funds that way.

Wifi is a great idea when done right. Now here is a fact about its funding. We already are paying $2 a month for wifi. Yes, we are already paying. Now the $3 that Dave keeps pushing on us will be an additional charge on us. Now despite the fact that Dave and company seem to use a different mathematical system, in most people's minds $2 and $3 adds up to $5 Yes, $5. AHA! Something seems to be amiss here. Already we have an evasion of the truth.

No one seems to have the answers about infrastructure, security, ownership version, true quality, approvals by government bodies (should we ever get a government running again- for that, speak to Washington!) How will it be maintained and kept up to date? How will that be paid for? How much more will be asked to pay and should we not make sure it is all the best it can be before we shell out for a crappy job a la the paving? We have a company that has submitted strange numbers, seemingly changing on a whim, very unclear as to final costs and what we are getting for that. Haven't we had enough of this faulty process. Are we not ready for a better one?

So, no, we are not against wifi. We, too, have computers and all sorts of devices, but we also know that we must spend wisely and well. We must get the biggest bang for our buck. No one will be at a great loss without wifi for another year or two while we check it out. Most people who want wifi are paying the $40 a month and/or have the additional devices one can buy to set up your own secure hotspot, so no one is sitting in the proverbial Stone Age.

So now you know the truth and we are always ready to answer your questions. Email me at he blog or anewbeginningatcv@gmail.com. Hear the truth, the whole truth and not half stories and straight lies. And yes, please talk to your delegates and tell them to vote for a better Village, for a better administration , of if you are a delegate yourself, give yourself a gift, and vote for the better choice. Vote Esther.
