Wi-Fi Committee Report

The UCO Wi-Fi committee has had a meeting. The report is out and as is expected it reflects D.Israel's slant on things and is full of misdirection, errors and misfacts.

First off the author states that 718 makes a Wi-Fi addition a common expense. . More of Israels misfacts.

It is not anymore a common expense than is the Bus Service which had to be mandated by a Judge, or the use of the Pools, some of which are common and some of which are uncommon.

The price that Israel is using is, as is to be expected, overstated. The $1000 price to do the Wi-Fi in a 2 story building runs from $0 too $200, in a 3 story building about $500, in a 4 story building about $750. Of course Israel is only talking about unsecured hot spots. I am talking about secured Wi-Fi.

But look at this there are 309 Associations in the Village. The math is 309 X 1000=$309,000. They have bids at $1 Million and more. So the $309,000 doesn't touch the actual expense

The suggestion that the Delegates pass a resolution that will be binding on all the Associations is beyond ludicrous. The Delegates are only that, Delegates. They cannot talk for their parent Associations. They answer to their parent Associations.

Is this committee an arm of the Israel wannabes Village wide Wi-Fi faction? Is it a captured committee? Is it the job of the Wi-Fi committee to promote Wi-Fi or to investigate and report. Is the committee part of the future DISRAEL LIBRARY fund?

Is it the function of the Wi-Fi Committee to "Write articles and speak at Delegate Assembly meetings to promote". Is this Committee only for the implementation of Wi-Fi? Or are they to investigate the feasibility of a Campus Wide Wi-Fi. Some nerve on the part of the Israel-lights

They have suggested "a visit to Boca Village  had shown dissatisfaction with the implementation. A new visit is planned to see if it has improved." Whats wrong with a report on the dissatisfaction? After all they are going the route that Israel wants to go. Using the vendor the Israel wants,  and this Vendor has been labelled as  too small to do the job.

What we need here is some sunshine, and a some fairness in viewing the needs and costs of Wi-Fi and less selling of the idea. And less advertising of Disraels's ideas

Also it seems that the committee is now considering a Performance Bond to Guarantee a good job. That is a laugh. We have asked for these Bonds before, but the experienced and knowledgeable President never saw the need. So the outcome is the Road situation. The Wi-Fi Situation will go the same way without a performance bond. And with a performance bond probably will never be acted upon.
