It may seem like a small victory, but considering that The Messenger Club was met with blunt, unreasonable denial up until now it's an encouraging sign. We are not sure why there was a sudden change of heart and why all of a sudden Eva Rachevsky decided or was instructed to loosen the reins. It could be that it is due to the Messenger Club sending a letter to her bosses ( signed by 170 residents) demanding answers to the question of her obstructing the club from using the room. Or perhaps it is because the Messenger Club found another venue for meetings in the medical building, where our newspaper was given a spot to be distributed in the lobby.
We are now looking to compel WPRF to permit the CV Messenger newspaper to occupy a spot beside other publications in the clubhouse. We are confident that we will get there if we persist, and persist we will !

That venue is totally outside of WPRF or UCO control.
One may wonder why the Club wanted the use of the party room when they were holding meetings in another room in the clubhouse. The answer is simple. In the first place, The Messenger Club demanded that they be afforded the same privileges as every other club in CV.

Secondly the club wanted to serve refreshments to meeting participants, something that is not allowed in the room where meetings were held. Last but not least the club wants to hold social events and provide entertainment. A good example is the Memorial day event that was forced to find another venue even though the party room was available.
Stay tuned for details about our first meeting to be held in the party room just before the election. It promises to be a barn burner.

Maybe WPRF is starting to recognize the CV MESSENGER CLUB as a force, that's growing with it's membership. RESIDENTS come & get the TRUTH, what's going on in the VILLAGE.
ReplyDeleteThe morons and idiots have a playroom now! Great! Find a room for Phyllis to sober up now.
ReplyDeleteEd Black, you are a fool and a nasty human being. All know this is your alias and so you are simply exposing your nastiness even more. And more so, we will all need a rom to sober up in when we toast you and yours loss.
ReplyDeleteMiserable yenta: The VILLAGE will see no MARCH 4TH, who are the MORONS & IDIOTS are. Old saying (FOOL ME ONCE, SHAME ON YOU, FOOL ME TWICE, SHAME ON ME.)The RESIDENTS are SMARTER than YOU GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR.
ReplyDeleteWe are so fortunate to have a big, important playwright like Neil Moore take time from his big, important work in Canada to think about CV.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I didn't know I'm important.Though I have to admit you are right about the "big"
DeleteWhats a yenta??
ReplyDeleteA Yenta is a gossip - chatterbox. When I was young we called them chiacchierone, the Italian version of a yenta.
DeleteAnonymous who uses the term miserable Yenta is none other than Ed Black. Delegates, please think about this when you vote for UCP VP. Do not allow this foul-mouthed substitute of a live being become a legal entity of UCO.
ReplyDeleteDO NOT VOTE FOR ED BLACK
I can offer two reasons why WPRF capitulated and gave the CV Messenger club the party room for meetings. One, is the determination of Ed Grossman to fight for equal rights for all who pay equal dues. The other is the realization of WPRF of the liability David Israel has become to the reputation of Century Village.

ReplyDeleteRESIDENTS:OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW. We know what we had for SIX (6) YEARS, do we need another TWO (2) YEARS of MISMANAGEMENT. You're the BOSS, they work for YOU, they don't do the JOB, YOU FIRE THEM.
ReplyDeleteIf UCO can FIRE good VOLUNTEERS for no good reason, RESIDENTS & DELEGATES have a good REASON to FIRE the PRESENT ADMINISTRATION.
ReplyDeleteRESIDENTS: Join the growing MOVEMENT OF RESIDENTS to TAKE BACK our VILLAGE, to make the RESIDENTS PROUD that they LIVE IN CENTURY VILLAGE in their RETIREMENT YEARS.
