Rantings

BOB RIVERA’S RANTINGS ON DAVID’S BLOG

Bob Rivera made a statement on David’s blog, that there was no term limits in the USA until after 1945. True, but he neglects to say the Republicans were responsible for eliminating them because they wanted to take the power away from the Democrats.  It’s always about power, and that is the main reason why having termed limits is so important - it keeps the country from becoming a dictatorship.
Bob also states, there is no term limits for Senators and Congressman, and it is STUPID to do so. He suggests we continue to have no term limits for Senators and Congressmen. He wants to keep EXPERIENCED Senators and Congressmen in powers that are presently in the middle of such squabbling; they should all be thrown out. He also claims it is a stupid suggestion to put the Term-Limit  vote on hold until the snowbirds return.  He says each Association has the responsibility to have an alternate delegate present to speak for the snowbirds. Get real Bob. Some associations are lucky to have ONE person taking interest in their association much less an alternate. We cannot deal with Bob’s wish fulfillment fairy tales; we must deal with present day facts.  He also seems to forget that the snowbirds pay FULL dues and are entitled to the same political decision making as the yearly residents.

THIS IS WHY WE MUST HAVE TERM LIMITS

I agree with you, Olga. There is a reason why no president ever held office for three terms except for FDR and even that was an error when one looks back at it thru the prism of time. No term limits encourages corruption and laziness. It is just the nature of things. Fresh air is good to breathe and good to have in situations of control. This push to have a vote before the assembly is full again is just a push to get their agenda thru before it can be shot down. First of all, even snow flakes, let alone snow birds are entitled to a vote as they fees here - remember that taxation and representation issue, Dave and Bob and Elaine etc? Second of all, that suggestion of an alternate? All of you know quite well that some associations have no one in the building during periods of the off season and so cannot appoint an alternate. So much for your supposed idea. Why are you so afraid to wait? Is it because you know you will be shot down? Is it because you know this is wrong and just the allure of power? And when I see and read the almost illiterate and mainly illogical writings purportedly explaining the issues in Dave's favor I get nauseous thinking that is the administration we have in power and finally, that you do not control yourselves and write in the name of the obscene and moronic Anonymous who appears to be a gelding and I am sure is one of you with an alias, I question in horror - and this is who wants to keep running UCO. If you are so dedicated, then run for another office, volunteer time until the next election and you can run again. Where is the harm? It certainly cannot be worse than now when we are short of money, facing encroachment on our property and lives and that fool Elaine keeps chirping that it is not so bad and the best threats and advise you can come up with is to tell Olga to MOVE! Oh please, give us all a break!Grow up, accept the rules and work with them for the betterment of the Village. That is the responsibility of all of us here in the Village, not this inane bickering and stupidity.

  3. Olga, your comments obviously PROVE that you read only what you want to see, or you need a new prescription... or did you happen to skip over the part about Eisenhower???? once again... get your head out and look around.
There are things called History books...check them out.
No one is saying not to include snowbirds...each association has a delegate and an alternate. With this in mind, that is the representative for each association. Should an association not send one or the other to the Delegates meeting, whose fault is that? Should the world stop?
You are making a point that "..each Association has the responsibility to have an alternate delegate present to speak for the snowbirds. Get real Bob. Some associations are lucky to have ONE person taking interest in their association much less an alternate." It's simple....If you don't care, if you don't vote, you shouldn't complain. The only way to get anything done is to get involved.
Oh...by the way, I made the exact statement on this blog...word for word.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Just for your benefit...
I copied and pasted it from the other blog so you could read it again....
maybe you can get it right this time...I'll hold my breath...NOT!
If you look at history, there was no such thing as term limits in the USA until after 1945. Presidents until FDR had not won or really tried for a third term let alone a fourth.
    -
The Republican party rallied and got an amendment passed to limit the President to two terms, thereby cutting their own throats because had Eisenhower wanted to run for a third term, he would have easily won. There are no term limits on senators or congressmen, and frankly, it would be STUPID to do so.
    -
With Century Village the removal of term limits would allow THE VOTER to keep the needed experience and knowledge in place when THE VOTER feels it is the best thing for our village. THE VOTER AKA Delegate is and should be represented for each association in the village. If not the Delegate, then the Alternate.
    -
Should the association choose someone that does not go to the meetings, then they are at fault, not the other associations, hence the next subject which is trying to put a hold on the vote until the "snowbirds" come back. Another Stupid suggestions.
    -
Why do the rest of us have to put everything on hold because they choose not to be here? Once again, each association has a delegate and an alternate. If both are not here in the off season, who's fault is that?
Poor planning on their part doesn't constitute putting the lives of the rest of us on hold. p.s. ....Washington started the tradition of only two terms when he refuse to run for a third....he also turned down being the King...

  5. Bob,
I presume it's because of your dementia that you forgot that the delegates have already voted to keep term limits.
Making another bid to eliminate them is akin to the republicans wanting another election because they lost to Obama.
    Gimme a break!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Bob,
Like Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan could have run for a third term too if we did not have term limits. Problem was he got dementia. Imagine a third term President sitting in the oval office not knowing what day it is.
We got a taste of this recently when David Israel came into a meeting recently and started ranting. "THE MALCONTENTS ARE HERE.
LOOK, THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUEING YOU FOLKS."
You know this is true. You were there.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Bob, do you even realize how demented you sound? Olga is right. The issue was voted on and now you guys want to do it all over again and again? maybe? until you get your way? C'mon. You constantly bring up our history so look at the history - a vote is a vote and in democracy we abide by that vote unless the winning side is criminal or incapable or does not carry out the office responsibilities. Olga's question is right. Since we are all getting on in years and hope we have good years for the remaining time on earth, we avoid the bad thoughts but you know, dementia is a possibility and when it came out officially that Reagan had dementia that was quite frightening. Not that it is certain that one will get it, but still, it is a question and certainly this aggressive ranting behavior on Dave's part is indicative of some type of breakdown, a loss of civil procedures. I, myself, have been the target of one of his ridiculous threatening emails and I am not so sure that the infamous Anonymous is not him either. This constant use of the term Malcontents, capitalized in his mind and on his blog and in his speech emphasis is alarming. In any case, people get tired and stale. A break is a good idea and Dave and cohorts can always work in other capacities for UCO> Noone is denying them that; in fact, it would be appreciated. Then when election time comes around again, run again. In the meanwhile, stop all this stupidity and ranting and raving. It is embarrassing for outsiders to see. Put the energy into solving our issues here with the wi-fi not working out, sidewalks full of deep cracks, faded paint lane markings on the roads and an antagonistic neighbor right in our very heart. Sounds like enough on a plate to me that we do not have to add more.

  8. Sure it was voted on before, the problem was that it was originally with another proposal and it was pointed out by Randall, after it supposedly passed, that they should be separate. First it passed, then it was defeated, which confused many in the assembly, hence it is brought in again for a vote.
As for your comments on Reagan and Obama, think about this...Reagan also inherited a mess, but rather than blame the previous administration, he fixed it.
As a Propagandist, you make Joseph Goebbels proud.

  9. yes Esther, a vote is a vote. kinda like prohibition, and we all know how that turned out.

  10. Oh, you have definitely shown your maturity and sensitivity, comparing me to Goebbels, me who lost over 200 members of an extended family in Lithuania. Thank you very much you putz!
As for why people are confused is that things happen again and again so revoting is like a bad deja vu.And as far as messes are concerned, Obama inherited a mess too and while I liked many things about George II, he did leave a mess for Obama to clean up, with no help from the Repuclicans or the moronic Tea Party members. You must know a lot of them.

  12. Got news for you. One, as usual you are not clear in your writing and two, Olga is also Jewish so I guess you are still an insensitive putz. Why not just leave world figures out of this discussion, if I may call it that. CV does not really rank in the annals of history, be they American or world.Take a chill pill and get with the program. CV is important to those of us who live here but I doubt we will read about it in the history books so enough with Washington, FDR and other presidents. We have only one here right now who is controversial, or at least his platform and regime.

  13. You have the nerve to post on Dave's blog that you can only respond to the comments on Olga's blog and why can't you post independently? Well, first of all, think about your rants, and second of all, how dare you complain when your god does not let those who disagree with him post at all so you guys can go on and on and there is no one answering you. Give me a break.

  15. Master propagandist of the Nazi regime and dictator of its cultural life for twelve years, Joseph Goebbels was born into a strict Catholic, working-class family from Rheydt, in the Rhineland, on 29 October 1897. He was educated at a Roman Catholic school and went on to study history and literature at the University of Heidelberg under Professor Friedrich Gundolf, a Jewish literary historian renowned as a Goethe scholar and a close disciple of the poet Stefan George.
Goebbels had been rejected for military service during World War I because of a crippled foot - the result of contracting polio as a child - and a sense of physical inadequacy tormented him for the rest of his life, reinforced by resentment of the reactions aroused by his diminutive frame, black hair and intellectual background. Bitterly conscious of his deformity and fearful of being regarded as a "bourgeois intellectual," Goebbels overcompensated for his lack of the physical virtues of the strong, healthy, blond, Nordic type by his ideological rectitude and radicalism once he joined the NSDAP in 1922.

The hostility to the intellect of the "little doctor," his contempt for the human race in general and the Jews in particular, and his complete cynicism were an expression of his own intellectual self-hatred and inferiority complexes, his overwhelming need to destroy everything sacred and ignite the same feelings of rage, despair and hatred in his listeners.

At first Goebbels's hyperactive imagination found an outlet in poetry, drama and a bohemian life-style, but apart from his expressionist novel, Michael: ein Deutsches Schicksal in Tagebuchblattern (1926), nothing came of these first literary efforts. It was in the Nazi Party that Goebbels's sharp, clear-sighted intelligence, his oratorical gifts and flair for theatrical effects, his uninhibited opportunism and ideological radicalism blossomed in the service of an insatiable will-to-power.

In 1925 he was made business manager of the NSDAP in the Ruhr district and at the end of the year was already the principal collaborator of Gregor Strasser, leader of the social-revolutionary North German wing of the Party. Goebbels founded and edited the Nationalsozialistischen Briefe (NS Letters) and other publications of the Strasser brothers, sharing their proletarian anti-capitalist outlook and call for a radical revaluation of all values. His National Bolshevik tendencies found expression in his evaluation of Soviet Russia (which he regarded as both nationalist and socialist) as "Germany's natural ally against the devilish temptations and corruption of the West." ( Cont'd....)

  16. It was at this time that Goebbels, who had co-authored the draft programme submitted by the Nazi Left at the Hanover Conference of 1926, called for the expulsion of "petty-bourgeois Adolf Hitler from the National Socialist Party." Goebbels's shrewd political instinct and his opportunism were demonstrated by his switch to Hitler's side in 1926, which was rewarded by his appointment in November of the same year as Nazi district leader for Berlin-Brandenburg.

Placed at the head of a small, conflict-ridden organization, Goebbels rapidly succeeded in taking control and undermining the supremacy of the Strasser brothers in northern Germany and their monopoly of the Party press, founding in 1927 and editing his own weekly newspaper, Der Angriff (The Attack). He designed posters, published his own propaganda, staged impressive parades, organized his bodyguards to participate in street battles, beer-hall brawls and shooting affrays as a means to further his political agitation.

By 1927 the "Marat of Red Berlin, a nightmare and goblin of history" had already become the most feared demagogue of the capital city, exploiting to the full his deep, powerful voice, rhetorical fervour and unscrupulous appeal to primitive instincts. A tireless, tenacious agitator with the gift of paralysing opponents by a guileful combination of venom, slander and insinuation, Goebbels knew how to mobilize the fears of the unemployed masses as the Great Depression hit Germany, playing on the national psyche with "ice-cold calculation."

With the skill of a master propagandist he transformed the Berlin student and pimp, Horst Wessel, into a Nazi martyr, and provided the slogans, the myths and images, the telling aphorisms which rapidly spread the message of National Socialism.

Hitler was deeply impressed by Goebbels's success in turning the small Berlin section of the Party into a powerful organization in North Germany and in 1929 appointed him Reich Propaganda Leader of the NSDAP. Looking back many years later (24 June 1942), Hitler observed: "Dr. Goebbels was gifted with the two things without which the situation in Berlin could not have been mastered: verbal facility and intellect.. . . For Dr. Goebbels, who had not found much in the way of a political organization when he started, had won Berlin in the truest sense of the word."

Hitler had indeed cause to be grateful to his Propaganda Leader, who was the true creator and organizer of the Fuhrer myth, of the image of the Messiah-redeemer, feeding the theatrical element in the Nazi leader while at the same time inducing the self-surrender of the German masses through skilful stage management and manipulation. A cynic, devoid of genuine inner convictions, Goebbels found his mission in selling Hitler to the German public, in projecting himself as his most faithful shield-bearer and orchestrating a pseudo-religious cult of the Fuhrer as the saviour of Germany from Jews, profiteers and Marxists.

    ReplyDelete
  17. As a Reichstag deputy from 1928, he no less cynically gave open voice to his contempt for the Republic, declaring: "We are entering the Reichstag, in order that we may arm ourselves with the weapons of democracy from its arsenal. We shall become Reichstag deputies in order that the Weimar ideology should itself help us to destroy it."

Goebbels's deeply rooted contempt for humanity, his urge to sow confusion, hatred and intoxication, his lust for power and his mastery of the techniques of mass persuasion were given full vent in the election campaigns of 1932, when he played a crucial role in bringing Hitler to the centre of the political stage. He was rewarded on 13 March 1933 with the position of Reich Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda, which gave him total control of the communications media - i.e. radio, press, publishing, cinema and the other arts.

He achieved the Nazi 'co-ordination' of cultural life very quickly, astutely combining propaganda, bribery and terrorism, "cleansing" the arts in the name of the volkisch ideal, subjecting editors and journalists to State control, eliminating all Jews and political opponents from positions of influence. On May 10, 1933 he staged the great ritual "burning of the books" in Berlin, where the works of Jewish, Marxist and other "subversive" authors were publicly burned in huge bonfires.

He became a relentless Jew-baiter, demonizing the stereotyped figure of the "International Jewish Financier" in London and Washington allied with the "Jew-Bolsheviks" in Moscow, as the chief enemy of the Third Reich. At the Party Day of Victory in 1933, Goebbels attacked the "Jewish penetration of the professions" (law, medicine, property, theatre, etc.), claiming that the foreign Jewish boycott of Germany had provoked Nazi "counter-measures."

    ReplyDelete
  18. Goebbels's hatred of the Jews, like his hatred of the privileged and clever, stemmed from a deep-rooted sense of inferiority and internalization of mob values; at the same time it was also opportunist and tactical, based on the need to create a common enemy, to feed popular resentment and to mobilize the masses.

For five years Goebbels chafed at the leash as the Nazi regime sought to consolidate itself and win international recognition. His opportunity came with the [Kristallnacht] Crystal Night pogrom of November 9-10, 1938, which he orchestrated after kindling the flame with a rabble-rousing speech to Party leaders assembled in the Munich Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall) for the annual celebration of the Beer-Hall putsch. Later, Goebbels was one of the chief secret abettors of the "Final Solution," personally supervising the deportation of Jews from Berlin in 1942 and proposing that Jews along with gypsies should be regarded as "unconditionally exterminable."

He combined verbal warnings that, as a result of the war, "the Jews will pay with extermination of their race in Europe and perhaps beyond" with careful avoidance in his propaganda material of discussing the actual treatment of the Jews, i.e., any mention of the extermination camps. Goebbels's anti-Semitism was one factor whichbrought him closer to Hitler, who respected his political judgement as well as his administrative and propagandist skills. His wife Magda and their six children were welcome guests at the Fuhrer's Alpine retreat of Berchtesgaden. In 1938, when Magda tried to divorce him because of his endless love affairs with beautiful actresses, it was Hitler who intervened to straighten out the situation.
During World War II relations between Hitler and Goebbels became more intimate, especially as the war situation deteriorated and the Minister of Propaganda encouraged the German people to ever greater efforts. After the Allies insisted on unconditional surrender, Goebbels turned this to advantage, convincing his audience that there was no choice except victory or destruction. In a famous speech on February 18, 1943 in the Berlin Sportpalast, Goebbels created an atmosphere of wild emotion, winning the agreement of his listeners to mobilization for total war. Playing adroitly on German fears of the "Asiatic hordes," using his all-pervasive control of press, film and radio to maintain morale, inventing mythical "secret weapons" and impregnable fortresses in the mountains where the last stand would be made, Goebbels never lost his nerve or his fighting spirit.

  19. It was his quick thinking and decisive action on the afternoon of July 20, 1944, when he isolated the conspirators in the War Ministry with the help of detachments of loyal troops, which saved the Nazi regime. Shortly afterwards he achieved his ambition to be warlord on the domestic front, following his appointment in July 1944 as General Plenipotentiary for Total War.

Given the widest powers to move and direct the civilian population and even to redistribute manpower within the armed forces, Goebbels imposed an austerity programme and pressed for ever greater civilian sacrifice. But with Germany already close to collapse, it was too late to accomplish anything beyond further dislocations and confusion. As the war neared its end, Goebbels, the supreme opportunist, emerged as the Fuhrer's most loyal follower, spending his last days together with his family, in the Fuhrerbunker under the Chancellery. Convinced that the Nazis had finally burnt all their bridges and increasingly fascinated by the prospect of a final apocalypse, Goebbels's last words on dismissing his associates were: "When we depart, let the earth tremble!"
Following the Fuhrer's suicide, Goebbels disregarded Hitler's political testament, which had appointed him as Reich Chancellor, and decided to follow suit. He had his six children poisoned with a lethal injection by an SS doctor and then himself and his wife Magda shot by an SS orderly on May 1, 1945. With characteristic pathos and egomania he declared not long before his death: "We shall go down in history as the greatest statesmen of all time, or as the greatest criminals."

this is from Jewish Virtual Library. first two words is the comparison. Olga is spreading her propaganda and a master of it like Goebbels would be proud. Even the Jewish Virtual Library says he was a master propagandist.
now if you want to twist it around to make it mean whatever you decide you think it does, then by all means, go on and join the ignorant.
Remember...those who forget history are destined to repeat it.
As I recall, history shows that the Jewish People all over the world made a promise not to forget hence the motto "NEVER AGAIN".
If you want to close your eyes, you'll bump into walls. And by the way, my God's name is Jehovah. Not David, not Olga.
Remember to stay at least two steps behind her in case of sudden stops. We wouldn't want to see you get a ring around your neck.

  21. nope....not a racist
    not anti Semite.
just like history, and see the comparison of the propagandist Olga and one of the greatest propagandist in history.
yes, I am opinionated, but so are many here. I state my opinion and back it up with reality, and the reality is that when it comes to Century Village, I plan on being here for many years. I care about it. I do what I can to make it a better place. I don't go around suing UCO or disrupt meetings. Saying that UCO is broke when it isn't is irresponsible. Suing UCO, which is US, EVERY ONE OF US, is irresponsible. It does nothing but take from Peter to pay Paul... who wins? not US.
As far as I am concerned, anyone that says to a vet "you should have died in the war" deserves NO RESPECT from anyone but the ignorant fools that believe the same way, and the only other ones that I know of that feels that way is that warped church that marches at servicemen's funerals, and guess what...they wouldn't take you.
And while I am at it, let us bring up Officers and/or members of UCO that don't even live here!!!! why aren't by-laws being enforced. That's why I am one of a few circulating a petition to fix this.

  22. I read this blog religiously and have never read where Olga has said "you should have died in the war." She did say she was a peace activist which means to me she was trying to save your ASS BOB.
Yes, I know you are trying hard to get rid of an honest Treasurer because you want david to make Ed Black treasurer. He's the one who put us into the red.
By the way, what makes you think we need to read about that shithead Goebbels.

  23. Bob, please, take a step back and look at what you are doing. Giving a whole lesson about Goebbels? I have read enough about him and his ilk and been on a pilgrimage to Eastern Europe where I saw the mass graves of my people. Why bring the Nazis in here to this dispute? What will you achieve by doing this? There are people in the Village who like Dave and people who do not. Simply because they do not like him does not mean they are malcontents, etc. Freedom of speech, freedom to ask questions, freedom to oppose wars or support a war's purpose, to have a gun or not, to push for an answer and when an answer is not forthcoming to try to get it another way - hence the lawsuit. Why cannot Dave answer the questions that were asked and admit that there was a better way when looking back and he did not see it then. People are forgiving if one admits an error. Doctors are finding that saying they are sorry about care that could have been better are finding that they are not being sued. Dave could do the same thing. Noone is perfect. It is just his intransigence that drives everyone crazy. As far as Ed Black being treasurer, NEVER!!! His methods have led us here and he is too much in a government where he was not elected to be. It seems as if Dave cannot function without his Svengali. Why would anyone run for office if this is what they are going to get from the current party in power? Is that the raison d'tre of all the actions that DAve, you and supporters have taken. And as far as Olga saying what you claim - I have never seen that in writing on any blog. Noone wishes for people to really die, yet the expression drop dead is often said in the heat of the moment - wrong, but said. Please, all of us, drop the venom, drop the hate and engage in sane talk, discussion and acceptance of the right to differ in a proper way.

The real question is why have there been so many Anonymous comments. Now it appears that there are two. One appears to be mentally deficient, reduced to babble and the other seems to have strong opinions about the other anonymous. Please, we need people in the Village who are willing to speak up, say the name. I have heard over and over again that people are afraid what Dave might do to them. Really? Will he call the NSA on you? Will he send the powers of the security force here on you? Will he tell WPRF to withhold your CV card? C'mon, don't give a toothless tiger teeth. Eduardo, since you appear to have been part of the government when the Clubhouse was hit, then you know lots of what went on, why the license was not taken out, why rebuilding took so long and perhaps understand more than many of us the machinations that go on.Tell it like it is, to paraphrase a phrase of my youth. Delegates, if you are reading this, please do not succumb to the threats of Dave about the suit. All they are doing is trying to get answers. Dave can stop the suit if he will openly answer questions and provide hard copies and accounting of what went on with the paving, the WPRF fees, etc. That is all anyone of us has been asking and it is the negativism that has exacerbated the whole situation. Term limits have nothing to do with the suit. It won't go away if term limits are done away with. We need to protect ourselves from incompetency or worse. We need transparency not dynasties of power. Hello - Morsi was just removed; do we have less power and courage than those people who did that? Can we not see our way to getting a righteous and transparent UCO government? Stop telling people to move. That is so childish it is beyond words. Stop predicting doomsday in the Village. I love it here and G-d willing plan to atay here till they carry me out. This is my home, my only home as it is for so many of you. Can we not work together for the sake of the Village, for all our sakes?
