Gunga Din Water Carriers

I only hope that mike (small letters) reads my comment.  At one time both Phyllis and I were members of the Dave's blog.  When observations were made about issues we were concerned about and when we had the audacity to challenge Dave, we were "KICKED" off his blog.  We were not part of the select 100 who carried Dave's water. Most that post on Dave's blog should be knick-named Gunga Din.

One of these water-boys, mike is his name, referred to why Phyllis's was leaving UCO as resigning.  If this water boy would have read the reasons for RETIREING, and if he a semblance of.  understanding and compassion, no further comment would have to extended.  mike the water-boy refers Phyllis as "dead wood."

Phyllis does not know mike. To label her as "unnecessary," or "insignificant" is what I would expect from some one who possibly has lived  with these epitaphs most of his life.  Again mike I ask you to present your credentials. Please write a short essay (I know it will be very brief) about your contributions to life at Century Village.

To the gutless person known as "J" who would not own up to his own identity,  to say that Phyllis changes her loyalties like the wind, clearly has no idea what a Vice President does at UCO.  The British have an apropos view on this.  It is called the "Loyal Opposition."  To translate this for "j" this means that a thinking person does not march lock-step with the person in charge.  This is known as expressing your opinion, acting as a "gadfly" challenging the existing system.  Have you ever wondered where some of the good ideas that were adopted  by  UCO originated?    Every sitting President has a cabinet of advisers.  Their main purpose is to afford the leader guidance and alternatives to challenge him when clearer thinking is needed. These advisers are loyal to the organization, they were put into office because of their insight and rational thinking.  This is why good people are always in demand.  In the 1950, many clear thinking observers of the cultural scene challenged the "conformity" of the times.

"j" we have on from this "tickey-tackey" view.  We have a new slate of elected officials for UCO. Based on your myopic position, all you want these officials to do is follow the leader.  No original ideas please.  Historically speaking this mentality did not work out for a number of nations.

To ElaineB.  I have always enjoyed your comments on the blog.  I may not have agreed with some of your points of view, but your writing was always clear, concise and informative.  So with this in mind, I hope you don't mind me lifting a few thoughts from one of your latest posting on the blog and change the play bill slightly.  Her "professional integrity is the bed rock of our Village." She "is not out glad handling, but we know she is there for UCO."  Thank you again Elaine for describing Phyllis Richland as a 14 year leader at UCO and now a happy retiree, anticipating  all those goods things that come to those who wait.
