HAVE WE RECEIVED THE ANSWER?

It seems that David Israel has responded to our offer, our challenge, to join with us and the rest of the Village in a cooperative venture. How? Not by words of acceptance but by deed of rejection. and what is more, is that the deed of rejection follows right along with his prior behaviors of secrecy and opaqueness in administration. This is very sad.

Why was there a closed meeting concerning the WIFI issue? Why was it deemed inappropriate for any one in the Village to hear that there were issues already with one of the companies vying for the contract? Is it because David Israel is going to pull another M&M debacle? There is no reason for there EVER to be a closed meeting unless it is in reference to personnel. Other than that, the entire UCO needs to be an open book.

Why, on April 8, after days and weeks of us offering an open hand, when the voices of the Villagers are raised in pleas for  peace and cooperation, did David Israel respond in this manner? Why does he think that he can get away with this again? If he does, it is our fault as we are the ones who need to stop him and Co.

Why, during this time when so much trouble about security and hacking and the presence of trouble in the innards of smart devices, are we plunging ahead with this WIFI? Why do we not let the companies work on this problem and solve it before we dive headlong into the mess? And what about the specifics of issues and possible liability on UCO if there is a major breach or even a minor one in that only a few are robbed of all they have?

It seems that the Canadians wish not to pay for WIFI during the six months they are not here. If that is the case, then how are the costs to be allotted? Will the rest of us, especially those of us who live here all year round, be forced to pay higher fees? And what about people totally opting out? Those who already have a faster and larger WIFI connection are not interested in another one and will want to opt out as well. Why not? If one group can do so, then so can another. And if a person who does not want it gets hacked, what is UCO's liability? What is the liability of all the individuals who voted to allow it - Wifi committee, bid committee, etc?

It seems to me that there are still so many issues that need to be resolved before we rush in and certainly one of the first and immediate means of resolution is to NEVER again hold more closed meetings on this or any other issue. David Israel, once again, put out your hand and agree to a dialogue. Agree to work with others. Learn to accept the fact that there are other voices here in the Village and they differ from yours. These voices need to be heard.

Again - answer our offer, our challenge to you - be a Village resident, not a Village tyrant. Put out your hand and put it where your mouth is. Talk with others. Work with others.Build a Village without anger and conflict.
