UCO's Broadband (read Wi-Fi)

So Dear Readers, read the above. This was handed out by the UCO organization. It shows the Broadband (read Wi-Fi) deal that the Great One has been working on and harping about.

What do you think of this?
The price is $200 per unit that will be returned to UCO for signing. The cost is $61.99 per unit, instead of about $40 per unit, which we pay now.

We are still waiting for the rest of the bidders.

  1. That is one hell of an increase! this is the gret bargain we are getting? Who needs it when there are buildings that have what they want and individuals who have what they want. Over $20 increase and then they make a big deal of cutting off $2 increase for the roads which will have to be paid anyway? What a bunch of hypocrites! Once again, they show how little they care for the Villager, only for what they want.

  2. There are many residents on limited fixed incomes that are just making ends meet at this point in time. This Broadband initiative should not even be contemplated. Those that want such services should pay for them privately. This wouldn't be like the cost of village wide transportation services for the general benefit, it's the efforts of a select few to impose their values and desires on the rest of us. I certainly hope this is fought tooth and nail as was the WiFi initiative fought against and defeated overwhelmingly.

  3. My building has installed Wi-Fi. Each unit pays $6.25 per month. This is far less than what David Israel is attempting to peddle.

    1. Your building is a mess and your "wifi" is just a single low power unit that is unable to do anything more than slow basic internet to a few units. It will be broken within a few weeks at most. Give it up sweetheart.

    2. My building is NOT a mess. We have been on this new style WiFi system for Months now. All is well. THere is no delay, no matter how many of the Units come on. Your remarks are just sour grapes

  4. It amazes me that UCO is advertising the $200 per unit kickback they will be getting from Comcast. Unbridled arrogance! Why not ask Comcast to reduce the monthly payment? Why not simply renew the cable service contract? We must ask ourselves: where will the kickback funds eventually wind up? And are we seriously going to lock ourselves in to a TEN YEAR contract? The entire proposal is nothing short of outrageous.
