  1. Correction to:"Are We Pulling Together or Apart"
    # UCO Delegates = 349
    # Associations in CV = 309

There is a statement in this article regarding the dismal lack of responsibility relating to the lack of representation at the Delegate Assemblies. This occurs in both low season as well as in high season. An important purpose of permitting Alternate Delegates to represent Associations, is to prevent such a poor representation in May thru September, but unfortunately, indifference and apathy can be found in high season as well. If this Village doesn't wake up soon, and knowledgeable and willing participants don't begin coming forward to volunteer both in UCO and on the Boards of their Associations, Darwinian Socialism will certainly prevail. This is a very valuable one-square mile of property, sparsely populated in aging buildings... a fact to seriously consider.

  2. Wishing that the village will wake up soon is futile. The system is not working the way it was meant to work. It's not difficult to see that the only realistic way to get a system that does work is to first abolish the current non functioning representation and install a better form of governing. That means that the first order of business is to get rid of the people who are supporting the continuation of the status quo. the second order of business is to give everyone living in CV a voice and a vote in affairs.(something we don't have) CV is a town. There is no reason it can't be run like any other town in America where the people have the say in what goes on.The profits derived from CV would serve us better if they were used to initiate a system where the leaders were paid a salary , much like the mayors and commissioners that look out for the interests of residents rather than the enrichment of the owners.
