I
just checked the "other"* blog and talk about living in a strange
world. We now have Dave Israel, who just made a huge fuss about being able to
vote again on the term limit issue but that was because he wanted it his way,
is now ranting and raving about the waste and interference of voting again on
it! Why? Because he has what he wants and doesn't want to give it up.
This is
so typical of his behavior and if it wasn't so sad, it would be funny. But it
is not funny. There is something seriously wrong with this man and his postings
and desires or at least how he presents them. Why is he ranting about this when
suddenly we seem to have a crime issue in the Village? Why has he not met with
officials and come up with a plan and introduced that plan in a Town Hall? Why
wasn't that ridiculous wall issue by Southhampton taken care of long before
this? I spotted that problem 10 years ago when we moved in. And why suddenly do
we have this issue anyway?
There is something off about this so called crime
wave. For one, why is he publishing all this info for all to see - so that we
should all shake in our boots and say don't change horses in midstream? Why and
how could NOONE have noticed large flat screen tvs and huge safes being moved?
How could NOONE have seen 15 cars being broken into? How could this crew have
known that there was liquor available next door to an apartment they robbed and
how could NOONE have heard the ruckus they must have made or seen them as they
reeled out on their way and how did they get out with all their loot with NOONE
seeing that? Where is the supervision over our security firm? Why have Dave and
Ed and all the know- it- alls not made sure that security was beefed up there,
residents alerted, not to first find out when it is in the paper? Someone,
Dave, fell down on the job. Gee, guess who that might be? And Olga, you are
correct in that Dave and Co., seem to control all the outlets.
I hereby
volunteer to write a column for the paper every month just raising issues
around the Village and the world laying no blame on anyone, just discussing and
asking questions. Want to bet that I get no takers?
I accept. You can post here on the Public blog rather than Dave's Private blog, when ever you like and pretty much say whatever you want! Gary

Just like Dave never
contacted me to work together, to try to get people to grow up and work
together for the sake of us all? But the answer is not to walk out and give up
a vote. Instead it is to vote, to speak up and out, to tell it all in the
Delegate Assembly, here on the blog, and anywhere else. Stand outside the
Clubhouse and give out a flyer. He cannot stop you there - that is common
property and as long as you are up to date on fees and have a CV card, there is
nothing that can be done. Hell, I will come and hand out flyers if you have
them, as long as my knees hold out. I am just so disgusted with this two timing
of Dave and Co.
And Dave, please do not send me another threatening email about
lawyers and such. There is nothing here to act on - unless you decide to act
properly and take care of the real issues of the Village as a caring and
concerned President who wants to emulate FDR and be president for ever and
ever. At least he did something, though not enough on certain issues.

I know, I keep repeating myself Esther but I can't thank you enough for your superb eloquence and insight into the mind of David Israel.
ReplyDeleteWow - my own posting. Thank you and I will try to post as best I can and thank you for your confidence and Olga - thank you. I just said what I thought and felt.
ReplyDeleteSo it has been said that I know the true Dave Israel. I do not really think that is so. What I do think is the sad truth that Dave Israel most probably started out with good intentions in mind. Here he was, retired, with lots of experience and lots of time on his hand so what to do? So he volunteers to work with UCO and gradually works his way up in the system, something he knew from work. Comfortable in his environment and serving the public was something he knew about. He had some ideas that would benefit his new home so why not go all the way to the top? And here is where it all started to go wrong. There was someone else in his desired spot. there was another somebody who also aspired to that position so now what to do? Aha! Dirty tricks department was then called upon, the ends justifying the means as after all it would be for the benefit of CV if Dave were to be president - or so he maintained, along with the coterie of followers he picked up along the way. Some actually were good and some not so much, but they traveled in the same wolf pack, with Dave as Alpha. Poor Dan got in the way and vicious rumors were presented as fact, later to be denied, but as I used to tell my students, it is very difficult to retract the hurt and harm caused by careless and not so careless words and who knew about this apology? Not me! And I bet not you, either. Only after Olga posted did I know about it. Dan, I am so sorry for what you went thru and you know how highly we think of you and on behalf of all the people you helped in those horrendous hurricane seasons a deep debt of gratitude is owed to you.Should you choose to run again I am sure there would be support for you. But getting back to our Dave story....Once the first toe is dipped into dirty water, the insertion of the rest of the foot and body does not seem so bad and it gets easier and suddenly, the man who started out with good aims and goals finds himself mired in muck and perhaps does not know how to extricate himself or may not even want to at that point. And so here we are at a bad crossroads and what to do? Honestly, I don't know. All I know is that politics is the bane of many a good person, even those who may have started out with a clean heart and the soul of a Sir Galahad. I saw it happen in many organizations and saw it ruin many a good person. A little power and......So again, I extend my invitation. Why not have a meeting where people can have a sitdown and hash things out with a civil tone being set and all screamers evicted, at least for a time. Have a neutral mediator agreed to by all. Have a Town Hall meeting chaired by an outsider to all this so all sides will be able to voice opinions in a civilized manner. I am sure there are other suggestions and possibilities but for G-d's sake, let us get on with it. We are facing issues here in the Village from within and without and all we are doing is borrowing Nero's fiddle! We have lost sight of the end goal here - a great place to live and an even better place in the future. Let us get back to it.
