Wi-Fi Security

Questions about Wi-Fi

At the last Operations Meeting the Committee discussed 911 phones for the pools and Wi-Fi for the Village. After a lengthy discussion it came out that the 911 system does not allow the use of Wi-Fi, it is not secure enough. So why is Wi-Fi secure enough for the Village? Should we not be concerned about Banking, Shopping, Credit Card Usage and Identity Theft, etc.?

  1. You betcha we should be concerned. David sweeps all the negatives about WIFI under the rug. He only touts the positives.

  2. Obviously WiFi in Bocca did not go smoothly. Why would we even want to try for it. I'm not so sure we thoroughly understand what went wrong. Do we need another fiasco lake the paving fiasco? How many areas in WPB or Palm Beach are blanketed with WiFi? David is acting like a teenager who needs the newest gadgets and has no self control. I'd love to have a safe and secure WiFi internet connection, but I am willing to wait until the service has been perfected.
