READING DAVID’S PRIVATE BLOG?
IF YOUR HEAD IS SPINNING FROM READING DAVID’S BLOG, LEAVE THE PAIN BEHIND AND READ THIS.
The following was seen on David’s blog in answer to "Mikes" question:
Can someone make a motion to remove the 94K from the budget or can a motion be made to pass the budget minus the 94K Golf Course line item?
David’s answer:
The Delegate assembly has broad powers, within the law to make such a change.
Moving to remove a single line item from the Draft Budget is a simple thing.
ACCORDING TO THE UCO BYLAWS,
The proposed budget may be amended by the Officers Committee and the executive board and will be submitted to the Delegate Assembly at their October meeting for CONSIDERATION AND approval.
David is feeding you a morass of unadulterated ambiguous statements in order to make your head spin. Don’t allow yourself to fall for it.
The only power the Delegates have is to vote the budget DOWN or vote for it. (Up or down only)
It is only members of the finance committee, Officers and executive board who can remove a single line item in the budget. It is not as simple as David suggests. The simplest thing to do is to VOTE THE BUDGET DOWN at the delegate assembly.
