Cracks, Cracks,We have cracks

You got to be Cracked to think these cracks are unimportant, frivolous, maybe even irrelevant

The walkways are full of cracks. We are told that $25,000 will fix 50' of the walkways. After we spent over $175,000 on the walkways 2 years ago. I would expect the walkway job, which is light duty (no autos), to last at least 10 years, not 2 years.
Please note the first 10 pictures were taken in front of Dover and show the cracks escalating to cat 2 or 3.

We have residents here who say this is no problem. All we need is bucket of tar and a trowel.- Ha-ha. Others say to fix it will easy (see above about bucket) and then they roll over.

Look for yourselves at the cracks, also note the cracks are growing. There is a Lawsuit active which is trying to get the responsible people to pay for their transgressions, but all we get is insults, snickering and accusations of frivolity.

Notice the first 10 pictures that follow. They were taken at Camden, and shows that the cracks are widening. Who knows they might grow into a full fledge sink hole. I am sure the Cam is aware, but I hear nothing from the Tin Man.

Eruption coming

Is this enough, or do you need more? Your Third Term President calls our complaints frivolous, silly, of no consequence. I think the Cracks keep getting larger and the repair bills keeps getting bigger. Do you think some of our frivolous and irrelevant Cracks will reach the size of a sink hole? What will be the actual cost of repairing this? Will this cost be considered silly, inconsequential?

  1. This is only one area of the walk and there is far more out there. Nor can one really appreciate the unevenness of the walkway unless one is walking and then trips on the raised and cracked area. Some details of the method of fixing this problem are in order, but as usual, all we will get is silence and then a crap job of superficial coverup. Business as usual in our kumbaya UCO.

    2. I WISH FOLKS WOULD GET THEIR FACT RIGHT BEFORE REPLYING TO A COMMENT. FIRST, WHEN WEISS WAS PRESIDENT THERE WERE NO ISSUES AS FAR AS ROADWAYS WERE CONCERNED. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN EACH ASSOCIATION WAS CHARGED ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF UNITS FOR A SCRATCH COAT ON THEIR PARKING AREAS. IF YOU ARE GOING TO PLACE BLAME ON PASSED PRESIDENTS DON'T FORGET MARSHALL.
IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CONSTRUCTION WHAT WAS SAID AT THE TIME OF OUR RREPAVING BY M&M WAS THAT WHAT YOU SEE ARE SAID TO BE REFLECTION CRACKS. THEY ARE THE CRACKS THAT WERE THERE WHEN THE COATING WAS APPLIED. IN ORDER TO ELIMINATE THEM THE ROADS WOULD HAVE TO BE MILLED DOWN TO THE SOIL AND PAVED FROM THE BOTTOM UP. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN AT A COST OF 50 OR 60 MILLION NOT 5 MILLION.

LET US NOT FORGET THAT AT THE TIME OF LOEWENSTEIN AND MARSHALL WE HAD A INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE OF VOLUNTEER PROFESSIONALS. THEY SPENT MOST OF THEIR TIME SURVEYING OUR CAMPUS AND SEEING TO IT THAT WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE WAS DONE. WE HAD ADMINISTRATIONS THAT WERE INTERESTED IN THE VILLAGE NOT IN THEIR OWN AGENDA. WE HAD BOARDS THAT CARED ABOUT THEIR BUILDINGS BECAUSE THEY LIVED HERE AND WANTED THINGS TO WORK WELL. YES, THERE WERE THOSE THAT LIKED TO START HEATED DISCUSSIONS AND THAT WAS O.K. BECAUSE THAT'S WHO WE WERE. BUT REASON PREVAILED. AND GOOD WORKS WERE ACCOMPLISHED.
PLEASE,PEOPLE, LET'S NOT FORGET WHERE WE WERE THEN. IT WAS A KINDER, FRIENDLIER PLACE TO LIVE.

WE NOW HAVE A WHOLE NEW DEMOGRAPHIC LIVING IN OUR VILLAGE AND WE ARE NO LONGER OF ONE MIND. WE NEED TO LISTEN TO EVERYONE WITH DIFFERENT IDEAS IN A RESPECTFUL MANNER AND FLESH OUT WHAT IS BEST FOR ALL NOT JUST FOR A FEW.

NO ONE KNOWS BETTER THAN I THAT LIFE IS SHORT AND THE TIME WE HAVE HERE MUST NOT BE SPENT IN ANGER .

IF WE CANNOT COME TO REASOMABLE CONCLUSIONS NOTHING WILL BE DONE.
