The Democratic Club, as I see it

DEMOCRACY BEGINS AT HOME.

An opinion by
Olga Wolkenstein
The Democratic Club in Century Village supports local and national political candidates.  It does not support candidates running for UCO Office.  I believe this philosophy does not serve the best interest for the village. Politics at home should not be discriminated against by people who claim to be “Democrats," – the very name in which denotes social equality.  The club remains aloof of UCO politics and as a result of this philosophy the powers at UCO have run amuck and put our village at great risk. The Club is mostly comprised of people who have strong political principles,   and they could be a powerful force in making the village a better place to live. If only these 200 or so members came out of the closet, widened their horizons and campaigned for UCO candidates, we might not have the dictatorship we have in the village today.
