News from Platnium

Here is an interesting bit of confusing news. Take it for what it is worth.

Hi Gary and Esther,

I thought you might want to post this to the blogs:

The security guards are at Kent Pool today to let people know that as of tomorrow (Friday), everyone must have their ID with them, as the guards will be checking to be sure everyone at all the pools is someone who is allowed at the pools.  As of tomorrow, if you don't have your ID, you will be removed from the pools.

What we, the Residents think, see below

Olga Wolkenstein has left a new comment on your post "News from Platnium":

Asking for an ID at the pools is illegal and an infringement of the rights of free citizens. This practice was tried over ten years ago and stopped for this reason. Legally, you may only ask a resident to show an ID if he/she is creating a disturbance. Because our so-called security is unable to properly enforce our code of ethics, they need to use Gestapo tactics to attempt to keep peace in the village.
DO NOT SHOW YOUR ID IF YOU ARE NOT CREATING A DISTURBANCE AT THE POOLS. STAND YOUR GROUND. THIS IS NOT A CONCENTRATION CAMP. YOU ARE NOT PRISONERS.
We do not need a ID to enter the pools, we only need an ID to enter the clubhouse and the village.

Merry Christmas!

Carole

  2. Another ISSUE to think about PEOPLE & DELEGATES, when the MARCH voting for President & other officers comes. When you vote in March, just don't have a short memory.

  3. I think it's great that they check IDs. I don't want a bunch of free loaders in our pools. Also Olga is wrong. IDs can be asked for in all common areas. Stop trying to relive your glorious youth, Olga.

    1. Dear Anonymous, If you prefer to live in a concentration camp environment, that is your right. I prefer living in a free society. If WPRF decided to put locks on the doors to the pools that required an ID to open, that would be acceptable, but, as long as the pools remain unlocked, I see no reason to request an ID. It's an infringement on my privacy.
