Ducks, Ducks and more Ducks

Birds, Birds, Birds. You want Birds we got them.

All over the Village. The birds you see are called Muscovy Ducks.

They are considered a nuisance, but I don’t think so. When I see one of more of them walking, or I should say waddling across a street I have to stop and laugh. Also, if you have noticed, these Ducks expect you to stop when they are crossing the street in your way.

You can see a bunch of ducks on Duck Island. It is probably mating season. No Humans allowed.

If you go there, you will be attacked. It is funny to talk about. But not funny to have a big angry Male squawk at you, flap his wings and snap his beak.

These Birds seem to nest in our neighborhoods and are contented. If you leave them alone, they will leave you alone.

You should not feed them. You should not feed them bread. This is not good for them, and they will not eat it all. Their bread leavings will attract other varmints, such as Rats, etc.

Cooked and ready to eat, this Duck is known as a Barbary Duck.
