POLITICS IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR AMERICAN TRADITION, YET SOME PEOPLE SEE FIT TO ATTEMPT TO DESTROY IT. 

There is a devious plan afoot to thwart the campaign for the Presidency of UCO.

Some people believe that a private club in Century Village should not allow a political candidate to speak to its members.

This means when a candidate is running for UCO office, they would be shut out from introducing themselves to the membership, and would remain unknown. This leaves a huge void in the election process and is an obvious ploy to keep the present candidates in office. These individuals who want the same President, Officers and Executive board members to remain in office year after year are the majority who has, in the past, not shown the courage to challenge David Israel.

The few officers and executive board members who HAVE had the courage to challenge David Israel believe we need new blood in the village and are willing to support free election speeches and term limits.  

When the vote to keep term limits was presented to the delegates, David’s followers stated term limits should be abolished because we could not get enough people to run for office. These same people now want to keep fresh candidates from running effectively and possibly elected.  Are they afraid the members may find the new candidates better qualified than the stale people in office?  

I urge all Clubs in Century Village to allow candidates running for UCO Office to have an opportunity to speak to your members.

I also urge all delegates to VOTE FOR TERM LIMITS when it comes to the delegate assembly.
