AHHHH, THE JOYS OF WIFI AND THE INTERNET

Anybody read the papers yesterday and today?Read the stories of the password problem and Heartbleed? And here we sit in the Village bleating about identity fraud when people are gaining access to everything we have that is on line - banks, brokerage accounts, social media sites and more and what is worse - it is going to get worse as the smart appliances get even smarter and control more of our lives.

So what are we rushing into here in the Village. Even if people have learned the basics of the computer and logging on to the 'Net, many are not sophisticated enough to detect trouble on the hoof nor what to do about it. So then what? Are you planning mandatory classes for this? Are you offering voluntary classes when there is a crisis? Should we put this also in the hands of Anitra, but of course list her only as advisory so people say, ahh, ok, she is not really a committee member and breaching the bylaws?

Have any of the six companies you say have responded addressed this issue? Have you even asked them about it or are you all so enamored of your WIFI plans that you have neglected security concerns? Why not another Town Hall  about this and allow questions to be raised and answered, if there are answers. Why not wait till Comcast finishes digesting its new meal as they say they are going more into wireless in the future. Maybe we can grab a good deal from them?

In any case, there must be more transparency in this area. WIFI is great. I know, I use it constantly, but reassurance is even better, the cherry on top. Once again, David Israel, hear the voice of ALL your residents, not just the ones you hang out with or rather the ones who hang on you. Let that cooperation be the beginning of the quest for peace that we have been asking you about and by we, I mean the residents of the Village, not the browbeaten ones, nor the plaintiffs in the suit, the ones you are always bringing up ad infinitum ad nauseum. I am talking about the people in the street, by the pools, the disenfranchised ones who could not vote due to our antiquated voting system. Cooperation- watch a couple of episodes of Sesame Street and you will get the meaning.

     Waiting to hear from you.......
