Term Limits Again, again

There is a Post Editorial that was published Thursday commenting on the need for Term Limits in Palm Beach Gardens City Council. The problem they have is that they have 2 Council people that have been in office for 22 and 25 years each.

Way to much. The reason for this is that the longer these people stay in office the more difficult it is to remove them, and they get hardened in their ways.

Entrenched incumbents just don't amass disproportionate influence, because they are difficult to defeat, and therefore less accountable to voters, they also discourage other politically minded residents from running for office. Not good. I can remember Roberta complaining that she did not have enough candidates and this is a reason why.

We have a similar problem. We had voted YES for the Term Limits for the Executive Board, including the President. But the voting was handled in such a poor manner that it had to be run three times and finally the vote was NO

This cannot be allowed to stand. We must have term limits on our leaders. How else do we get fresh blood with fresh ideas.

Look at where we are now. The President feels that anything he does to push his agenda is OK with the Village. He will brook no dissent. We cannot allow this to go on. The Village is now in a turmoil. The problem is that the Executives have a agenda and are pushing it for all it's worth.

This must be stopped. We must recall them and recall them now!!
