ELECTIONS

The Messenger Club is hosting a candidates forum this Thursday at 3.30 pm in the clubhouse,room C. We are not proposing a slate of candidates as we feel that if given the unvarnished facts the
delegates are competent enough to make their own decisions without being unduly influenced by our opinion or any other persons opinion for that matter.

Many candidates who were notified of the forum by US. mail have eagerly agreed to appear before the residents at the forum while others have not notified us as of this writing.

All candidates for Vice president were recently invited to an interview to be broadcast on channel 63. Some candidates readily accepted and were interviewed . Sadly, some candidates declined.The exposure on channel 63 was limited to a few minutes and was only broadcast a couple of times in the last few days not really giving candidates the opportunity to fully discuss their intentions.

However the Messenger Club forum will give everyone a chance to fully explain their position and respond to concerns from the audience.Statements made by David Israel on his blog indicate his opinion on the best candidates for the positions. His remarks regarding the nominations clearly shows contempt for many potential officers His attempt to promote one candidate over another clearly indicates his belief that the electorate need a little help in forming their own opinion, and gives the feeling that an attempt is being made to stack the administration in his favor.

Resorting to name calling and making ridiculous assertions about the suitability of candidates is reprehensible behavior. The Messenger Club will not stoop to muckraking or smear tactics in our activities.

The Forum hosted by The Messenger Club is intended as an unbiased opportunity for all candidates to promote their platforms and for the electorate to get the facts.

We believe that delegates armed with the facts and the intentions of the nominees will vote with confidence and install officers who have the best interests of the residents in mind.
