THE SECOND BIGGEST CON

This is SCANDALS, Part 3B.  It is strongly suggested that you peruse through SCANDALS, Parts 3 and 3A to get a real feel for what this Wi-Fi charade is really about.  Insurance, taxes and maintenance are very real issues, to name a few, and need to be discussed at great length before anything at all is decided. Tap your neighbor on the arm and tell him or her that they’ve got to listen and pay attention, because if this Wi-Fi becomes a reality, we’ll all be stuck with the consequences forever.  And, guaranteed, -- we won’t be very happy campers. 

Take the $5,000,000 paving fiasco, for instance.  You cannot take it all back.  It is history; the biggest con job this Village has ever seen.  This was an over-priced paving job that is supposed to last just about 15 years – or maybe 17 years, if you get the professional opinion of paving gurus.  Because of the numerous faults and defects in the job, we’ll be lucky if we don‘t need major resurfacing in many areas in 5 or 6 years.  Will you accept another con job?  Wave your placard if you’d like to buy a “bucket of steam”, or if they can convince you to buy a “short-circuit.”  Then they can convince you to purchase a “left-handed monkey wrench.” 

President Israel, together with his back-room henchman, Black, is known for his cloud, space-man, spy tactics as well as being able to place a shroud over people and hypnotizing them into doing whatever these ill-natured autocrats force upon them.   DON’T LET IT HAPPEN; DON’T BE HERDED, DON’T BE CONNED!  

Israel needs a legacy.  He has been President just shy of four years and he has none.  He needs this Wi-Fi badly.  It’s his baby.  He has nothing else to present to you in his history to indicate that he has been even a mediocre president.  NOTHING!  The only thing that he can boast about is that he knows how to arm-chair his job and play with his computer to spy on people.   What has he done for Century Village in four years for which he can be remembered?   

The Wi-Fi issues have been spoken and written about numerous times before.  Can you really absorb all of it?  It is like reading 5 chapters of a 20 chapter book.  Israel would like you to skip chapters 6 through 19 and go directly to chapter 20, -- sign right here.  Like the paving job, he doesn’t care what happens after it is a done deal.  These backroom, secret dealings MUST STOP. 

But, there are very real issues that need sensible and professional answers before you “sign here.”  For instance, Israel chose “certain” companies to handle the Century Village project and those companies were too small.  And, that was a statement by a well-respected man in the communications industry, Mr. Lawrence Dambra.  Mr. Dambra, at a scheduled meeting, stated that he would agree to do the necessary research and give to Mr. Israel the names of mid-tier qualified companies.  The companies that Israel had chosen did not meet the specifications that were put forth.  Also, they did not include BROADBAND for now or in the future.  Mr. Dambra put a little salt on Mr. Israel’s tail.   

Bringing it further, Israel presented companies that did not have the equipment to complete the job in a certain period of time as required by the specifications.  Mr. Israel again pouted.  

It gets even more interesting.  Israel was pushing DSL, and that company had an approximate $10,000 error in their proposal.  In addition, DSL was NOT a provider of BROADBAND.  Are you getting a clearer picture now?  

It is not particularly what is said about Wi-Fi systems, but what is NOT SAID.  THIS is the SCANDAL.  There are numerous questions that need to be answered before any proposals can be finalized.  It would seem exceedingly clear that Israel does not want any of these questions to surface and he’s afraid that professional responses could jeopardize his chances for Wi-Fi approval.  Don’t you think that there should be written provisions as to how UCO should be able to nullify the contract agreement for various reasons, in other words, a bail-out clause? 

When “Hi-Fi” was first introduced it was “state-of-the-art.”  You have some bucks and you got it.  A little time goes by, and lo-and-behold, you have “STEREO” to take its place.  Your predecessor becomes obsolete.  Some people in the know will tell you that Wi-Fi is in its’ infancy, and you may want to be a little more patient, because in the not too distant future you’re going to see more sophisticated equipment, lower costs, better services, ease of use, less maintenance, and greatly expanded technology.   

We need to touch upon just a few more matters that are important.  A tower for Wi-Fi is needed, and it would be erected on Century Village property, about two miles from Palm Beach International Airport.  You cannot simply say that you need a tower and put it up.  You need permits, -- a permit from the Turnpike Authority, a permit from the county, another permit from the FAA – a minimum of four permits that would be needed.  This part would be very time consuming, and it is very likely that one or more of these permits would not be granted. 

The Bid Committee, in trying to do a thorough job so that many of the major issues could be addressed and perhaps resolved, was not ready at this time to begin any form of negotiations.   However, Israel demands that we go ahead with this business NOW.  Like a bratty child fist pounding – NOW! 

On the Request for Proposal (RFP) form in the hands of a few of Israel’s “friendly” companies, he lists his name as the Century Village contact.  Is this not perhaps a little too egotistical?  Is this not perhaps being a little TOO friendly?  And, you should know that also listed on the RFP as a contact person is the name of Israel’s back-room henchman, Black.  Can you believe this?  Another paving scam brewing right before your very eyes!  Making Black a contact person is like allowing him to take complete charge of a $5,000,000 paving job, and allowing him to borrow close to a million dollars.  It would appear that Israel is setting up another opportunity to give Black a chance to put forth another “scam-like” proposition.  

Now, the secret spy goes to work.  The meeting conducted by Mr. Lawrence Dambra, the paid professional consultant, was Taped by Black, our channel  63 self-professed guru, and according to a reliable source, resulted in a tape with no audio and one that was too dark to view.  This was a “read-my-lips” tape.  Can you possibly believe this?  Israel and his very inner, inner cohorts conjured up such methods and means to isolate themselves from anything that might show them in a bad light.  They don’t want anybody to see and listen to the expert in Wi-Fi, - Mr. Dambra. 

Let’s use just a little logic here.  Rather than have Israel shove Wi-Fi down our throats, i.e., pay for it forever, whether you like it or not, -- let the individual associations get Wi-Fi for their own individual buildings.  The costs involved are within reason according to reliable sources.  The Associations have a right to their own destinies.  A number of Associations have already gone this route and are well satisfied. 

I am sure that, in the not too distant future, Wi-Fi will become like the introduction of talking movies.  It will get better and better and better.  But right now, -- in dollars, -- we really cannot afford Wi-Fi; the great majority of CV unit owners have no use for it; a great many people can’t afford greater expenses (refer to Demographic Data 2011 and Poverty Guidelines 2013 compiled by The Neilson Company); thousands of snow-birds couldn’t care less about it; many people don’t have computers and those who do, don’t know how to use them; the great worry about security by hackers - and this worry is very real (in his blog, Israel admits that part of the Wi-Fi system – security – cannot be guaranteed) and it goes on and on. 

In recent years, -- this is what Century Village is all about, -- SCANDALS, -- over and over again.  Just how bad can it get?  Manipulation and misuse of funds, stealing, fraudulent dealings; dishonest methods, means and procedures; misrepresentations, deception deliberately practiced in order to secure personal gain; and the attempted ruin of a respectable community.  It goes on and on, and like so many communities it will eventually die when “money” becomes a huge factor to consider and people can no longer afford to live under such adverse conditions.  Enter the undesirables and then there will be a mass exodus from this Village. 

What can you do?  Well, step forward and stop the SCANDALS, -- that’s one of the first things that you can do.  Step forward, -- demand to be heard.  Refuse the “be brief” or the “you’re out of order” admonishments, tell the woman with the gavel to “stuff it.”  Scoff at “we’ll get security in here,” and don’t be intimidated by armed deputies.  Tell the president and his knaves that the words “malcontents” and “dissidents” - words that they use to describe persons who have different views of this governmental dictatorship - are far beneath the recitations that should be used by a president who is supposed to respect his constituents and, in turn, be respected by them . 

The Wi-Fi deal is an ongoing SCANDAL; which has been brewing from the very start.  DON’T ALLOW IT TO BECOME THE SECOND BIGGEST CON TO COME BEFORE YOU!

Toys for Tots and Christmas

Toys for Tots, a worthy endeavor, has a collection box set up in the UCO office. We are collecting toys for infants through teenagers. The toys do not have to be  wrapped. The toys will be collected by the Fire & Rescue Heroes just before Christmas and distributed.

It a sad thing to learn that the Great one carries his anger so far that he is trying to infect the Children and their Christmas, You see Phyllis R is banned from blogging on the Nefarious ones' blog because of  imagined slights. insults, non-cooperation from one of his Volunteers. No good turn goes un-punished.

Scandals - Part 8 - Redux

 Scandals Part 8

Prohibited use of the Blog that was originally established for Century Village, except for those chosen people who have been selected as “members”, is a SCANDAL! 

Mr. Israel, otherwise tagged Cue-ball,  has stated numerous times to everyone who had two ears and in writing to everyone who was able to read, -- that THE BLOG is, in fact, “OUR VILLAGE BLOG.”  (once known as the Century Village Blog).  He said, in fact, again and again that anyone can go onto it  and voice whatever they had to say, save harsh language,  was his cry.  JUST ANOTHER BOLD-FACED LIE has surfaced.  LIES, LIES and MORE LIES.  HOW MANY MORE LIES CAN YOU TAKE?   

He, Cue-ball himself, takes a PUBLIC BLOG, which was the “Century Village Blog” and is now, by his own language “OUR VILLAGE BLOG” and, like a fist-pounding Dictator, makes a determination that it is HIS blog, and only HIS.  If I’m not mistaken, that’s what Hitler did in Germany.

 

Cue-ball is prevaricating.  He very secretly maintains that it is HIS PERSONAL BLOG and that a person is supposed to be able to “Leave your comment” in a prepared blog box.  Underneath the “comments” box it says “Comments on this blog are restricted to team members.”  Well now, define a “team member.” 

A small group of inquisitive unit owners decided to see how easy it is to become a so-called “team member.”  Here is what was uncovered:  If you’ve EVER looked cross-eyed at Israel or stuck your tongue out at him … it comes back to you “sorry, you can’t become a ‘’member’.”   

Or, maybe you were seen by the Secret Agent Man or his Chief Back-Room Con Man talking to a “malcontent” or a “dissident”, or some other cute name originated by Israel, … no, you can’t become a “member.” 

Perhaps you voice your opinion at a Delegates’ meeting that the Dictator deems is in opposition to his views, sorry, we’re limited to 100 members . . . but, we’ll keep you on our “waiting member  list” . . . you’re number 292”.

 Or, any one of the Dictator’s very selective group of Blog Administrators, including Black-ball and others who don’t like you because you didn’t wave your placard at a Delegate meeting  when you were supposed to . . . sorry, you can’t become a “team member.” 

How about you want to print something in the UCO Reporter, THAT ISRAEL ALSO FULLY CONTROLS . . . .

Sorry, it can’t be published because you mentioned Israel’s name in a derogatory way, and you can’t become a “team member” of the secret blog clan either. 

Okay, let’s assume that you never did anything that would give the Dictator a reason to prohibit you from becoming a “team member” on the blog that is labeled “OUR VILLAGE BLOG.”  So, you became a so-called “team member” and then you post, or want to post something that irritates Mr. Cue-ball - - you automatically and effective immediately become dis-enrolled . . . scratched from the secret 100 list.  You’ve fallen out of favor with the Dictator.  This recently happened to a now-serving Vice-President.  Hard to believe, but true.

So, Mr. Israel, or if you prefer, Mr. Cue-ball, you’ve created a second blog entitled “OUR VILLAGE – PART 2.”  In your posting, you state that the person making application will need to produce his or her name (which no doubt will be investigated), an address (which no doubt will be verified), a telephone number(s) - (which no doubt will be checked).  And, you cannot sign your blog entry as “Anonymous,” --- that is strictly prohibited (pseudonyms, however, are OK).   

Note well:  Mr. Cue-ball states in writing that you need to have a “membership” in this “OUR VILLAGE – PART 2” which is an extension of “OUR VILLAGE BLOG.”  Refer to paragraphs hereinabove to see if you can become a “member.”  He eventually may want your fingerprints and, I am surprised to know that this is not already required.  He already will have your e-mail address.  

Really now, it’s Israel’s EGO . . . he is self-centered and egotistical without question; it’s Israel’s POWER . . . he is the president and I think that he believes he can do any freaking thing that he wants to, whether it’s legal or illegal, no difference to him; it’s Israel’s CONTROL . . . he has an inner need, like an adult-child, to secretly control everything for his own selfish benefit.

So, one might express,  - - who give a fiddler’s  f---  about the blog that the Dictator secretly declares to be his own?  It is not worth a speck of your time.  THIS blog, I like, because you can willingly express what you have on your mind and you can see it in print without editing, save cursing and swearing, - - and you don’t even have to mention your name if you don’t want to . . . Anonymous is okay. 

Making it extremely difficult or impossible to voice your opinion on “YOUR VILLAGE BLOG” is a SCANDALOUS act of a dictator and his back-room cronies. 

Someone once said, I think it was my Mother:  “What you say means a lot, -- put your mind to it and you can make things happen, -- don’t let things just happen to you.”  I say, “DON’T BE AFRAID, - - YOU CAN TELL ISRAEL, AND HIS GROUP OF BRAINLESS COHORTS WHO CARRY HIS TRAIN, THAT HE CAN’T TELL YOU THAT WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY IS “OUT OF ORDER”, OR “BE BRIEF”, AND FURTHER, THAT YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO VOICE YOUR OPINION ON “OUR VILLAGE BLOG. “  Be prepared, -- he may consult with our UCO lawyer before he answers you, and he’ll chalk it up as a UCO expense.   

This entire administration is a huge SCANDAL.  Don’t  just sit there and be afraid; if you have anything to say, come right out and say it.

     COOKING THE CAMPAIGN 

The UCO nominating committee has set in motion rules to discourage residents from running for office.  

 One resident decided to run for executive board and submitted her written bio to the nomination committee.  The committee refused to accept the bio for the following reasons:

1.  It was not submitted by e-mail.  

2.  It was not considered written in the committees accepted format.

3.  It was not submitted with two proofs of residency.  

These requirements were concocted by the nominations committee and are NOT PART OF THE UCO BYLAWS, which read: 

The function of the Nomination Committee shall be to compile a slate of nominees for the election of a President, four (4) Vice Presidents, a corresponding Secretary, a Recording Secretary, and a treasurer, as well as the regular members of the Executive Board and submit same at the February meeting of the Delegate Assembly. They may submit more than (1) name for any position.  

Nowhere in the bylaws does it require a bio; nevertheless, one that is e-mailed or in a mandated format. In addition, because the amendment to change the residency requirements did not pass, the only legitimate requirement at present is that a person STATES that they reside here more than nine months during the year.  

Is the ownership or knowledge of computers necessary for someone to run for office?  We have many talented, educated and qualified people living within the village who do not own computers and are not computer savvy. Is it wise to discourage these individuals from running for office?  On the other hand, is this a deliberate ploy to discourage new faces with fresh ideas to run for office? Talented individuals should not have to use their energy to get their name placed on the ballot; they should use it to get elected.  

David Israel and his supporters fought hard to eliminate Term Limits because they said they could not get enough people to run for office. And now when we do have people willing to run, they are being nickel and dimed because of the red tape involved.  

TERM LIMITS ARE COMING UP AGAIN IN DECEMBER. DELEGATES YOU WILL HAVE ONE LAST OPPORTUNITY TO PUT THEM BACK IN OUR BYLAWS. THIS WILL BE YOUR FINAL CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT BEFORE THE ELECTION.  

THINK SMART, THINK TERM LIMITS.

 

 

HI FROM THE WORLD OF MAGIC

      So here is a shout out from the world of magic to be found on the west coast of our great country - the original Disneyland. Visiting a grandson who is living his dream of working for Disney, here on a college internship, we have totally enjoyed the visit, though I must say that  a vacation after this would not be a bad idea! It is interesting to watch the face of a grandchild when he realizes that his grandparents cannot walk as far and as fast as they used to and cannot be the energizer bunnies anymore from 7 AM to 11 PM.

     Still, it is great to be here and with him and it is also great to realize that Disney had a great idea. This truly is a world of magic. For days, we have walked the paths and byways of both parks and the Downtown area and have yet to see any negative person. People are smiling, strolling, hurrying to make their Fastpass deadline and gently trying to persuade their little ones that perhaps Space Mountain is not the best choice and maybe the Carousel is. So why is it so magical? What makes it so?

     For almost a week we have wandered along with people of every nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, skin tone, etc. and there has not been one bit of difficulty. Strangers talk on the lines for rides or while waiting for the show to begin, exchange information for continued contact and why? Why  no animosity? Why no pushing and shoving, only "sorry" or No, you go first". And I wonder why we cannot bring this back with us and turn CV back into the magical world it too once was. truly, we have not lost it all, only strayed a bit and we can return.

     What must we do to recover this magic? First, we must recall the theme of the Musketeers  with a bit of change, a la the Newsies. It must be "One for all and none for one." Think about it. If we realize that we are all in this together, then we will all work together and if we realize that a selfish outlook of what can I get out of this, or go away and don't bother me will not work, we will realize that truly none for one is exactly right.

     We have no magic lamp with a genie and no pixie dust to sprinkle. What we do have is the willingness of so many  people to work unselfishly for the Village. What we do have is the desire to weed out the no good, the ogres and the gremlins that have turned us upside down, sprinkle the pixie dust and fairy dust of good thinking, new methods, fair play and positive attitudes, new ways of looking at thing we desire and/or need in the Village and get on with the magic of life here in CV. Together we can do this. Separate and selfishly, we cannot. Meanly and negatively we cannot. With secrets we cannot. With honesty, we can. Which side shall YOU choose?

Vote for Esther. Vote for the Term Limits. Vote for a return to Sanity

CHANGE WE MUST

     More interaction with other residents of the Village and the atmosphere I have been encountering is one of welcoming change, out with the old and in with the fresh and new. I believe that attitude is sweeping the nation with a "throw out the bums" attitude described so well in newspapers and by talking heads on TV. People are tired of hearing the same excuses, getting the same brush offs and not getting any answers to their questions.

     I think it was Con Ed in NYC who used to have the slogan - Dig We Must. Now our slogan is Change We Must. My team and I will be coming in fresh, new brooms to sweep clean. Out with the backroom politics and deals, out with the rushing to contract without proper research and background knowledge, in with the mighty brain power and reserve that we have here in the Village, and out with the, at best, careless us of our funds from UCO. It will take time, as there is much to check and investigate, much to repair, but from day one, and even before, we are thinking and planning.

     So who is this team I refer to? Easy - ALL OF YOU. I am depending on all of you residing in the Village to speak up, volunteer, help us retake our Golden Age. Who is my team now and what role will they play in the new administration? My team consists of all of those willing and able to work - stamp, stuff, give out pins, come to planning sessions, laugh, argue, etc - all with the goal of ousting Dave from his seat of power and installing a new president and team in office. I have heard some rumors, no doubt planted by our own Voldemort, that I am fronting for someone, that I have a puppet master a la Dave and Ed Black.

WRONG!!!! C'est moi, C'est moi. I am my own person, my own master, my own independent soul,and the only people I am fronting for are YOU - THE RESIDENTS OF THE VILLAGE.

     At this point in the campaign rumors may start to float around. We will take the high road and state what we know to be facts - that the paving job was a rip off that did not need to be, that the wifi was shaping up to be another fiscal fiasco as well as a wifi dud - and we have an expert's opinion on that who told Dave the exact same thing - that OUR UCO funds are being expended on armed guards and the right of free speech is being violated right here in our Village, that fear and intimidation, threats of snooping in your life are common everyday practices, that our bid and contract proposal process needs refinement, that the best interests of our Village are not being taken into account.

     So change we must. We must change administrations and keep our hard workers, our good souls and search out and welcome all who wish to work for our Village. Read my Mission Statement and you will understand who and what will make the team. We must change our attitude and work together, help the Associations with advice and guidance so that we keep our residents as they should be - aware of our rules, our status as a 55+ community, our acceptance of diversity and welcoming all who wish to contribute to our Village and improve its quality of life.

     I am well equipped to lead this new administration. My administrative and people skills are well honed from an administrative career in schools. As a principal I had to work within multi million dollar budgets, prioritizing needs, new programs, asking for bids or as we call it here in the Village - RFPs - evaluating proposals, refining those proposals for the biggest and best bang for the buck and for the best company able to fulfill our needs. I had to deal with all segments of a school community, both within and without the school, mesh with our neighborhood and conduct life for the school and its populations in as smooth and conflict free manner as possible. I enjoyed it. I was successful at it. And I can do the same here with your help and wisdom.

 We have much to do so, come, help get us started. Join us.

Death Notice

With great sorrow we regretfully inform you that our friend and neighbor Esther Schor passed away on November 8, 2013.

Esther was born on January 15, 1916, she was 97 years old. She is survived by her daughter Deta, her two grandchildren Lauren and Joshua, and her two great grandchildren Jordana and Ronny.

Esther lived here 38 years and was a 
Wellington A Vice President.

She will be missed.

NICE AND QUIET. WHY?

     It is almost as if we are not in the middle of an important campaign for the soul and future of our home, the Village. Battles seem to be in suspension, some people were halted in their tracks and false accusations have been disproved. WiFi yes, but not now, not till we have more information and funding, amongst other issues; our money is safe and well insured with FDIC contrary to the false accusations of Ed Black who obviously either knows nothing about this area or simply wanted to cause more trouble - how shocking!; and even the silly comments on the other blog seem to have abated.

     Well, now I am not sure what they are planning, but this has been a great time for me. I have been walking the Village and meeting lots of wonderful people engaged in many activities and it is amazing how much they all agree on some topics. They love the Village.

 They wish to remain here for the future. They have questions about how and where and why our funds are expended and who has the permission to do that. And many of them, particularly those of our residents who are on the more senior side of our population, asked about the increases in fund demands and quite a number said to me they were not interested in this Wi-Fi but rather in having the money to buy food! You see, we knew what we were talking about though Dave and cohorts poopoohed this whole issue.

Somehow we must learn to balance the needs of ALL our residents and not simply just state, "Oh, let them leave."    What has been most gratifying and nourishing to the soul is the number of residents, delegates and non delegates who express great dissatisfaction with Dave's administration. They feel he does not have their interests at heart and is only concerned with his agenda.

 They were extremely upset with the armed guards and the fact that UCO paid for them. They were upset about the paving and concerned as to how to prevent such a disaster from taking place again. And they were concerned about the budgeting, how it is done, how it is prioritized and how it gets to the assembly in its final stages. They are greatly concerned about the quality of life in the Village, with ensuring that it remain a senior development with wonderful recreational facilities and a welcoming clubhouse and bus system and want to know how to make sure this happens.


   Obviously, we said - SUPPORT ESTHER.  We will be announcing many venues at which everyone is welcome to come and meet and greet, to ask questions and get answers to the best of my ability. My email has been receiving messages as it becomes more known and it is my greatest pleasure to have gotten to know so many wonderful people.

    So when you see me, ask your question, tell me your concerns, come to the meetings and you will see that Esther is the best choice. No armed guards, no secrets, no false accusations. Only truth in administration, streamlined and refined bid and contract procedures, more input from our residents, a balanced budget, a comfortable and necessary set of reserves for our needs, an open and responsive administration where residents and their questions are welcomed and their needs addressed.

     It has been a great pleasure for me to get to know so many of you, my fellow residents of the Village.

A vote for Esther is a vote for Sensible Government , Honest Government and Government that is concerned about their Governed.

Dear Clarence H,

You asked the question on David's blog. Who was responsible for closing the transponder lane after midnight? The answer is John Gluszak, your latest elected Vice President. This is John's claim to fame. This brainstorm  occurred to him when the powers that be were discussing the robberies  occurring in the Village. John felt it would be safer if we closed the lane after midnight -  Notwithstanding the fact that the majority of robberies were happening in the daytime .
Oh by the way, John was ready to quit the vice presidency when the Officers originally turned down his request.   But he kept pushing and I guess the majority of officers were tired of his nagging so they just gave in and let him have his way.
Inconvenience? What do they care?

Mollie Marshall Thinks having the Gestapo in the clubhouse creates an aura of peace.  Sorry Ms Mollie that is exactly the way Adolph Hitler started out.

When Hitler began his propaganda campaign, he had armed troops in the audience. This was the way he controlled everyone and this is NOT what I want to see happen in Century Village.

Mollie also believes her husband Bob is a saint. I beg to differ with you Mollie. Have you read this blog when we posted a secret agreement YOUR HUSBAND BOB signed with Mark Levy giving Levy the right to put the residents' money in his pocket in the event the clubhouse was unavailable due to a hurricane?

What’s the matter Mollie?  Are you having an attention span problem? This agreement YOUR HUSBAND BOB MARSHALL signed caused us millions of dollars in extras, which were not needed in restoring the clubhouse. And you dare to make this somnambulistic man who wants to run for Vice President of UCO a hero. Give me a break Mollie. Wake up from your fantasy and get real.

 I don’t want an armed camp here in Century Village, and I don’t want your husband as Vice President. I want to get all the vermin out of office and see a sane and sensible person in charge. One who does not want to go back in time but only seeks to move forward.

Who is the Censurer?

You are entitled to Hear the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.

It seems to me that the people that post on the Malfeasance blog absolutely do not see facts as they are. As for Censor and disruption. Who is the Censurer? Is it not the man in the cat bird seat? He repeats and repeats that we are disruptive when the fact is we are not. We  are entitled to express a view and it should be heard by the DA. What the President will do is shut us up by yelling that we are disruptive and your time is up.

Yes the Assembly should hear all sides of a problem, it is almost impossible for our side to expose our side since we are not able to speak at the Assembly.  As for the posters, it seems that they are espousing the Party Line.

But no matter, eventually we get the word out, and the truth will out. The stories (which are true) of  the volunteers at UCO being shouted at, being threatened with firings, and actually being fired for petty infractions,  are all true and the people that work there know it.

Vote the Term Limits in and  we will Get Good, Sensible and Honest Government.

Where is our Money going?

What is the “Sweep Account” into which your money is being placed.  Some have implied that – perhaps these funds are NOT insured.  So – the following is extracted from the BB&T information sheet.

“With ICS…, you can earn interest on funds placed into money market deposit accounts (MMDAs) and access multi-million-dollar FDIC insurance.”

UCO money is deposited into an ICS – this is an acronym for INSURED CASH SWEEP – and I trust this information will put anyone’s mind at ease as to the safety of our funds.

Will I guess David Israel is at it again

 David Israel the president of UCO had called for a special meeting of the Wi Fi And Bid committee to hear a presentation on Wi Fi systems.. From what my husband has told me the person was giving a presentation on Wi Fi in Century Village. He  told everyone present that the two companies that are biding on the installation of Wi Fi were not big enough to handle the installation of Wi Fi in Century Village.and it  probaly would cost over two million dollars to install the wi fi system. After this presenation David Israel said he would sign a contract today for the istallation of WI Fi today.

 Mr. Israel must have a hearing problem he ignored all of the negative information that was given about the problems we would face in Century Village if the Wi Fi system was installed.

 Mr. Israel should take up a collection and get a hearing aid and a new set of glasses so he would be able to hear and see better and not waste more of our money on projects that are falures or that don't work

THE DEPTH TO WHICH PEOPLE SINK

Bully Boy is back and aggravating all of us!    

All of you out there that survived the Holocaust, the gulags, life in Eastern Europe under Communism, protested during the 60's and 70's or even more recent times, for whatever reason, or know somebody who did - think carefully. I know that I am very uncomfortable with an armed guard there, intimidating, as I stand to give an opinion. Evidently somebody died and appointed Dave Israel the arbiter of human rights and the interpretation of the Constitution here in CV for it evidently is  not the same as the rest of the USA outside our gates. Perhaps Dave read Mein Kampf or perhaps it was Das Kapital for his guide to running a government but Dave, it does not hold water here.

Your bullying tactics will not prevail no matter how you try to gloss over it. I have been at the last three delegate assemblies and various committee meetings and there has been no one threatening violence except for you and your paid guards and no one acting out of turn or yelling, simply standing patiently, awaiting their turn to voice their opinion.

The only one who abused that is YOU when you tried to shut down Dorothy, the best Treasurer we have had in a long time and who is honest, not frittering our money to G-d knows where like you and Ed. So your dumb excuses for the guards as stated by Mollie Marshall who wandered all over the place going back years and even to somewhere else do  not stand . Mollie, do yourself a favor and just stick to banging that little gavel. All we are concerned about here is what goes on in our Village. We will let someone else worry about Brown University for now. In fact, why don't you go there and take on the issue?

As for you, Nutjob, there you go spewing forth hate and garbage from your mouth. You need a taste of soap and Dave needs to fess up that he encourages violations of civil rights as well as encouraging bias speech, never mind all the lies. I have an activity for you - take a long walk off a short pier and perhaps the water will cleanse your mind and mouth.

I must say, Dave, that this is the lowest point that I have seen so far. Perhaps the NSA attitude that is causing so much trouble now all over the world has stuck too much to you, wherever you state that you worked - analysis or mailroom. Come back to American values for which so many of our residents have fought in so many wars. Do not make a mockery of it by trying to frighten people into shutting up. And pay up the $400 you spent of OUR MONEY for these deputies.

Dear Readers, I am sorry to have to say this but David Israel has planted the seeds for a catastrophic event. The armed guards at the clubhouse is the beginning of turning verbal discord into an armed war. This is a dangerous situation which may keep people away from the clubhouse.

David's motives for having armed guards in the clubhouse when there has been nothing to suggest any possibility of a Century Village uprising is an indication of a seriously perverted paranoid mind.

 

It will be up to all the delegates to make certain to VOTE FOR TERM LIMITS and rid Century Village of this provocateur president in March when his term expires.

It's frightening to think that Century Village is reverting back to THE THIRD REICH.
The next scene I envision at the clubhouse is David's hired guns pointing to the dissidents and malcontents. If Chapter One is having armed guards in the clubhouse, I hate to see what Chapter Two will bring.

 

Also adding insult to injury, these guards were paid for by the peoples UCO Credit Card. 

 

 Does this mean that if a person gets into a verbal altercation, with David, guns might accidently go off. Can this really happen? We really don't know, but we can only surmise the possibility of something awful happening if David were to continue his charade of hiring armed guards. My one regret is that I was not present to see this show of force.

 

On second thought, maybe it's a good thing, because had I said something David didn't like, he may have given the order to shoot.

VERY FRIGHTENING A MUST TO READ

Sorry, folks, but this posting will have no little funny asides. The topic is too important and terribly frightening to joke around.

     A bully is one who uses voice, body, threats, and others to get his/her way and we have all come across them in life be it at home, neighborhood, school or work. They are nasty people. A prime example of a bully allowed to run amok is a dictator and his bully followers.

     So what does that have to do with us? Well, folks, we have our own bully amongst us and we must do something about it because this bully has taken a very wrong turn on Friday. The delegate assembly was quiet because either the budget was passed or it reverted to the most previous one, in which case the $2 for wifi was still there. There was no point in wasting time on this anymore right now. HOWEVER, contrary to what the ninnies are spouting on Dave's blog - THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WIFI. That whole process of RFP and proposals has to be started from the beginning. Okay, you might say, but this is not scary; this is good. Yes, but read on.

     You might have noticed the extra presence of PBSO officers or deputies in addition to the ones who presented. They stood on either side at the front of the theater by the exits, arms akimbo, poised for action, staring out into the audience of delegates and residents and especially at certain people. These were the people that DAVE had pointed out to them prior to the start of the meeting. Who were these deputies and why were they there? Was there a threat of something going wrong? From where and from whom?
    
     Just read Dave's blog and you will see the horrific gloating of Dave and cohorts about the presence of these deputies and their imagined effect on his opponents. Yes, they believed that the opposition was squashed due to these deputies as THAT WAS THEIR APPARENT PURPOSE. YES! YOUR PRESIDENT, DAVE  ISRAEL, HIRED PAID PHYSICAL BULLIES TO SQUASH OPPOSITION.  Where does it stop? Read history and you will see.I do not know these deputies and most probably they are lovely people, but Dave hired them AND PAID FOR THEM WITH A UCO CHARGE CARD - YES, OUR MONEY.

     We now have our own tinpot dictator who is so desperate to hold onto his power and to ban free speech that he will use physical threats and intimidation to get his own way and keep his power. Why is he so desperate for that? Is there something that he needs to hide or is he just a piece of human trash not fit to be our president? Delegates, do you want to live in the only USA community that lives under a dictator who will stop at nothing to remain in power? Where do we go from here - black shirts, brown shirts, men with armbands, sticks,  clubs and guns? Think about it. Our own funds were used to hire men to use physical force against Dave's opponents. That is horrifying and terribly ominous for the future if we let this go on. And to think that they believe it worked! IT DID NOT!  It was quiet because there was no point right now, nothing to gain arguing against the budget. We had already stopped another fiscally ruinous scheme from taking place.

     Dave, this is to you, personally. You have shown your true colors. You allow hate mongering and nauseatingly prejudiced remarks on your blog, refuse to disavow them, and now have reverted to this - Physical threat in the form of hired thugs. What is next - the hiring of hitmen or men off the street to look even more threatening? And YOU GLOAT OPENLY ABOUT THIS ALONG WITH YOUR NINNIES AND COHORTS!

     SHAME ON YOU! Delegates, we must put a stop to this. We must demand that Dave apologize for this and pay for the deputies with his own funds and swear that he will not try this again. Stand up to him. Disavow his tactics. We do not need to make history this way.

MISSION STATEMENT FOR PRESIDENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF UCO

 The goal of the Presidency of UCO is to serve the needs and residents of the Village in all ways. It is to supervise and oversee the physical infrastructure of the Village as well as its financial stability. The President must gather and use the abilities of its residents in the pursuit of the above stated duties.

    The President must take it upon him/her self to observe the laws as they pertain to the Village and forswear all personal gain or profit, other than knowing that the mission has been fulfilled. The President must take upon him/her self the goal of presiding over an administration which puts aside all personal animosity and makes the best effort to encourage a collegial atmosphere in both the government and the Village in general.
    
     The duties and the responsibilities of the President must be recognized as an awesome and fearsome burden and accepted as such by the President and any others who serve and/or volunteer for UCO. They must all acknowledge that they are there to serve the community as a whole and not themselves in particular nor any single interest group. Only then will UCO have the administration it needs and that the Village deserves

What follows is a transcript of my remarks at the November 1st Delegate Assembly.  These remarks were heard by more than 200 delegates and an undetermined number of interested and concerned residents.  The comments were precipitated by a posting to Mr. Israel’s BLOG by the esteemed and venerated Mr. Ed Black. What? Gary

“On October 31, 2012 the combined UCO reserve balance – excluding an escrow account dedicated to M&M – was less than $30,000.  Cash balances at the end of the year 2012 were healthy, primarily due to the forgiveness of reserve funding.

So – yes – UCO never defaulted on timely payment of invoices.  But, UCO had NO savings.  I believe that it is necessary to plan and save for the future so that one need not have to borrow from Peter to pay Paul; – and, the future includes emergencies – stuff that happens unexpectedly such as a $70,000 “sink hole”.

Others would rely on “loans” “lines of credit”, etc. That folks should be a last ditch resource – one to be used only when you have not planned or thought ahead.

On Mr. Israel’s blog Mr. Black has posted a statement to the fact that your money is NOT FDIC insured.  I can assure you that that is NOT a true fact.  When the total operating balances exceed $250,000 money is transferred – within two days – to the sweep accounts where it is in turn deposited by BB&T – a 5 star bank - into a consortium of banks that participate in this sweeps program.  NO ONE banking institution exceeds the FDIC limit AND our money is liquid and available to us within the same 48 hours as needed.

I would anticipate a retraction and an apology for this false statement which Mr. Israel surely knew was intended to deliberately mislead you.
