Clouds and Silver Linings

EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING AFTER ALL!

To this time, I have chosen to remain silent on the issue of committee membership.  Specifically, how are members of the committees chosen.
However, I cannot continue to allow others to extol Ed Ross’ qualities and the contributions he might have made had he been permitted to serve without making it clear of how I feel.  Ed’s profession – architecture – his many years of living in Century Village - more than 10 – and his desire to give back to the community he has called his home for a long time are hard to duplicate.
So you might ask, why was he not listed as a member of a UCO committee for more than 5 years.  There is no mystery here.  Others have already given the reasons why.

Ed did apply to a number of committees; Infrastructure, Bids, Advisory, Finance, Operations and others.  From each and every one of them, one person – and one person only – said “no, not on my watch.”  And, by this time I am certain all of you who read these blogs know who that was.  Yes folks, your illustrious leader – the one who appears to suffer with paranoid tendencies and, of course, his trusted aide who seems to believe that money should be spent and spent just as fast as it can be spent.  I am sure you know who I mean so a name is not necessary here either.

So, because of paranoid tendencies everyone, every citizen of Century Village, West Palm Beach is having to deal with cracked roadways, poor drainage, sinkholes and $5 million down the proverbial drain.

Well folks, perhaps there is a happy ending to this story after all – at least for me.  Your loss is my gain.  Unfortunately, that leaves you with the cloud - I  got the silver lining!
