If you are a devout carnivore, get ready to raise your own cow.

Scientists are preparing to serve up LAB-GROWN BEEF. Of course, it won’t be as juicy or flavorful as real meat but think how many housing developments Mr. Waldman can build when all that farm land becomes available. He won’t have to fight Century Village residents nor any perpetuity clause. He will have plenty of land to build on, and then maybe we can make him an offer he can’t refuse. We can buy his golf course on the cheap, turn it into a cow farm and raise our own Century Village home grown beef – it would pay for itself.  Think of the profit we would make by selling our excess REAL COW BEEF to McDonald’s.  

In the future, when you pull up to McDonald’s, the clerk will ask you, McLab or McCow?

 

 Note: Before all you faithful carnivores become vegans, scientists do not expect the LAB BURGER to be available for two decades.

 

Work together to find a reasonable resolution to the Golf Course development

Century Village seems to have more than its share of disputes.  These disputes breed a dispute mentality and that, in turn, breeds more disputes.  Maybe it is time to stop fighting and work together for a reasonable compromise on at least one dispute.

Maybe if we can resolve one dispute as good neighbors and begin a pattern for some of the other issues that lower our joy of living here and make the type of legal actions we all read about more acceptable than they should be on our home.

We should end the legal action associated with the golf course development and work toward a mutually agreeable set of land covenants that would bind the developer to reasonable actions that both sides accept after negotiation and compromise.

Eventually the County Commissioners will agree to some type of development rather than encouraging the developer to allow the land to be taken, for example, for non-payment of taxes that might happen if all development is refused.

I suggest a negotiating committee be formed with four people from units that directly face the property and two people from the CV community.  If necessary, a facilitator or mediator be retained and paid partially by CV and partially by the developer.

The result would be a set of land covenants that both sides aggree would replace the existing restrictions on any development.

We could begin the negotiations by urging:

1.  the present fence be relocated to be a minimum of 25 feet from any CV unit.

2.  Retail development be restricted to the area near Haverhill Rd. with the balance to be used for lower traffic facilities such as an extended care facility.

3.  No access from CV to and from the developed property is to be built or used unless CV agrees to a secure staffed gate with security equal to the present CV gates.

4.  The boundary between the two properties should be lighted and landscaped by the developer .

This is a fair start.  The critical item is that CV agrees to support development with an agreed set of restrictions applied to the land and will work with the developer to gain the necessary approval from the County Commissioners.

This is better than continuing an expensive fight we will ultimately loose.

Nice to say

Welcome to Paradise

It is nice to say that this can happen and that can happen relative to the governing and functioning of our domain, -- the so-called Paradise called Century Village. So, stand up and be counted, -- be heard; do something constructive and meaningful; make it a better place to live every day. It is alright to say all that and other good things, BUT . . . . .

Unfortunately, the true history of Century Village is that should you decide to disagree with decisions made by the gang of power brokers at UCO, and you take a stand because you firmly believe that you’re right, -- it becomes necessary to have to fight those in ultimate power and control. And, they do in fact have all of this power and control, and having their egos brought forth from one regime to the next, -- they’ll eventually beat you. One way or another, their egotistical army will beat you, and the one of two things happens, -- either you move out of CV or you expire, because history says that they’ll never leave you alone. They’ll slander and libel you, harass and intimidate you, refuse any and all requests that you may have, prevent you from volunteering your services, AND THAT WILL BE FOREVER! This is the basic history and foundation that has been established by the UCO dynasties.

What we really need is to clean house. Yes, start with the President. Everybody gone, or at least all of those who wear arm-bands, earlaps and black boots. Have people governing who want to project to the people what UCO really stands for, -- their real purpose, -- and NOT to ignore the people’s creativity in moving forth to be replaced by a group of people with tunnel vision. The dictatorship must be eradicated.

CV is over-wrought with too many people with intolerable EGO; those that seek ultimate POWER and those who want to CONTROL everything. And then, there is one more word that enters all of this line of thought: MONEY, -- follow the money trail and if you’re a good sleuth, -- you may become shocked out of your pants. What these very same people DON’T want is responsibility. That is a no-no!

Eliminating term limits just says, "..keep the same old cronies, -- who cares, -- so long as it doesn’t affect my pocketbook. You want to steal by fudging contracts, -- that’s okay too, so long as you don’t steal too much".

Sounds like a real downer, pessimistic and negative. Well, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck . . . . . Take a good look around. Observe what goes on at meetings – open and closed – look at people huddled in corners, and at Delegates’ carnivals. It’s disgusting, if not altogether disgraceful. Take a look at a President who studies big words to impress you, does nothing all day but utilize his computer, and does not know how to interact with people who supposedly look up to him for leadership. A President who make no decisions!! 

Does any of this action or more clearly, non-action make any sense? All of the President’s needed decisions are passed on to either UCO’s attorney, the President’s inner group of trusted cohorts, or the Officers. The people are trying to speak, I think, but for the reasons stated above, and the President’s castle protected by a moat deluged with a gang of hypnotized, mean-spirited insiders, -- their voices remain silent. The commoners, those who know that too many things are wrong, -- want to say and/or do something, but are afraid. It can be heard in low whispers – "I’m President of my Association, and if I say something, they’ll hurt me and my Association. I’M AFRAID … please don’t mention my name".

I literally get sick to my stomach, together with a pounding headache, when I think of what these governing people have done and not done for this Village. The reputation of the Village goes, little by little, down, down and down. Now, with so many renters and transient people, and a whole new and different kind of condo buyer, the Board of Directors and its’ Officers have completely lost sight of changes that need to be made on a constant basis to coincide with the times. The President should have been leading the charge to convince each Association to abide by requirements of their Condo documents. He has totally failed to take the required initiative. He continues to play . . . with his computer. HE AND HIS SYSTEM HAVE FAILED!

Sitting down and discussing numerous issues with the President and his back-room chief aid, who makes the decisions for him, is like trying to hear a muffled fart in a hurricane. People out there, LISTEN UP! - - - you, all of you, the people, can make anything happen. UNITE, and you’ll know and feel this enormous wave of power. YOU can make change!

Texting and Driving and the Price paid

Texting and driving, a little toddler, Xzavier Davis-Bilbo loved to scramble around the house and yard. Nicknamed "X," the boy imitated plays from his hometown Green Bay Packers. Then tragedy struck.

Walking across the street with his older sister, he was struck by an oncoming car and is now paralyzed, living in a wheelchair, breathing through a ventilator. He was hit by a driver who was texting, her face so buried in her phone that she didn’t stop at the Stop sign, and was speeding, in a school zone.

Hotel Century Village?

Who Makes the Rules here? Hotel or Village?

Century Village was established as a retirement community which has changed over the years, much of it for the better. However, one thing that remained true from the beginning was that this is a community of owners and if there are renters, they are to be vetted carefully. This was for the safety, financial and physical, of the association and the community at large. I am sure it was not perfect, but for the most part it worked.

Now we have an ongoing situation about which many people are aware and no one seems to be doing anything about it. Dave Israel and UCO know about it and have done diddly all about it, passing on the responsibility to others (leaving us wondering again about just what he does here) and the president of the Dover Association obsesses about doors and windows but does nothing about the woman who owns several apartments in the association and then rents them out as a day to day hotel offering.

 The renters come in and could care less about the rules and regulations of the Village and use the facilities like a resort. The Village gets nothing out of this arrangement and in fact, loses much by it. The Dover president knows all about this, Dave knows all about this, and it is an open secret in the Village so who has the hell WILL do something about it?

There is another issue with a renter in the Village who sublet to a creep and again, no one does anything.  Dave Israel and minions, delegates of the Village - this is more than a simple quality of life; it is a question of the very fabric of the Village. Step up, do something. You asked for the responsibility of your positions, so is it for the glory of saying I am the..... or is it for the real responsibility of making and keeping our Village the way it could and should be?

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, There's always Tomorrow

These are the dog days of summer, the months of August  and September when the fewest people are here so things are pretty quiet, but do not make an error in thinking that we have been talking in vain. People are answering on the blog, sending emails and calling from the North about what has been going on and what can be done. There is a growing dissatisfaction with the status quo in the Village and that is all to the good. The more active the public, the more responsive the government has to be. It must hear their issues, not just the issues in the minds of the governing committees. Yes, they are volunteers, but they also are fulfilled by their volunteering and that is good, but they also have a responsibility to their electorate.

Dave and cohorts, please hear this and understand this. Noone wishes you harm; people are not ungrateful for whatever they appreciate in what you did, but people are not satisfied with one sop for many years. Enough with the computer stuff and onward with more vital issues. Remember, there are still many people here who do not have computers or even if they do, do not know how to use them for much more that straight emailing. So what should you concern yourself with?

Let us see....hmmm....Comcast and its lousy record, incompetents who don't know what they are doing and never answer the phones anyway, never bothering to show up when they make an appointment.....Reflection Bay and the jerk Waldman who has a heart of stone and a forked tongue and here  is where your stupid stubbornness in not working with the Pro Active Committee is biting you in your.... Now when you realize that you should have joined forces with them, others remember your words and still vote no......real updates and doings on security within the Village.....proper responses to people without the sneers and the yelling....and how about changing your blog's name to Dave's blog instead of the misnomer OUR VILLAGE. Excuse me? Out means all of us and that sure ain't the way it works now, is it?

Once again, put away your pride and stubbornness and reach out to people. You just might like it. Hear other people than just your yesmen.

Dictators do fall

And we are not Spitting into the Wind

Eduardo, thank you for your compliment, much appreciated. You are right. Sometimes it feels as if we are spitting into the wind but the songs of history tell us otherwise. Dictators do fall, be it in ancient times or now. Sometimes they are replaced by other dictators but our goal here is to open the government to the people of the Village and be transparent with no secret or sweetheart dealings, no playing secret agent man or anything like that. I also do not feel nor felt intimidated by him at the Assembly. I actually thought it quite funny and one day all others will realize what an empty bag he and his cohorts actually are in that all they can do is try to shout down and shut down. He does intimidate many, true, but if we can get together and get people interested in running and/or voting for others than his sycophants then maybe we can open a breach and start the process. Let us hope. Let us campaign for people and votes. Let us support the honest and open people for an honest and open government and make sure that we thank Dave for his oft mentioned computer advocacy since that is all he seems to be praised for - quite telling, is it not?

Oh-Oh Rising temperatures

The Temperature is Rising - not a good sign

Just thinking about the meeting and reading the blog can make one concerned for our future. We love this Village. We love its green spaces, the water views, the Clubhouse shows and library, the Okeechobee library, the convenience of shopping and the lovely people we have met here. The list can go on ad infinitum but the point is that we have a wonderful home here, for many of us our only home and we have no wish to pack up again even if the wherewithal to do it was there. Yes, outside the Village has gotten a bit rougher lately but I still cannot figure out why. I have a mean thought in my head that someone is urging this on for his own benefit but for legal purposes I will not say a name, but dirty tricks have been around  for a long time. An example: leaving the golf course to go to wrack and ruin and then calling it a blight that must be fixed for the betterment of the community around it. Excuse me, but that is like the man who kills his parents and then asks for mercy from the court because he is an orphan. Some people have been urging a compromise, but can there be any with someone who was mean enough to put an ugly fence right up in our faces. Can you imagine the horror for a Holocaust survivor in any of these buildings who now looks out and once again is surrounded by a fence?! We have already been sold out by people from the Village who for one reason or another worked for RB and against us here in the Village and we  certainly were betrayed by the fools who backed the RB simply because their leader did and now are saying OOPS!

In any case, it is not good for us to give the Post something to write about on a slow news day as it puts us in a bad light so please stop exaggerating about fears and weapons. Do what you wish or feel you need to do and keep mouths shut. Put up lighting, change a lock, fix a lock, lock your door on the car and then go on with life. Call the Sheriff if you see something. A concerted but quiet effort should make a difference.

Now if we could only make a difference in the political world of the Village but I think not as long as Dave is president. He does not respond to positive criticism, has a vile temper, needs to learn how to run a proper meeting and some other words besides briefly and "you are out of order" so that we can make progress here. I believe he is trying or figuring on outwaiting and outlasting his opponents and that thought is scary so we all need to get out there, run, vote for new people and dig for the truth. Noone knew that he admitted lying about Dan Gladstone and no one knew he had to apologize IN WRITING for what he had said, admitting he was incorrect. Why were we not told about this? That is the sign of  a slick kind of politico and we have all had experience with those locally and nationally. Why will he not listen to the Village, look around and see the needs as they truly are. Who in the name of all that's holy will need WiFi if there is no population? Who even knows if it is really secure to use. We have all seen the warnings about public Wi-Fi and most of us have our own connections already, securely. What we need is a secure and safe and well run Village.

And talking about security, I am not sure who it was that spoke out strongly about a wrought iron fence, Ziccardy maybe, but I agree with her. To be pennywise and pound foolish with a standard fence that young and spry kids can easily climb is not really the way to go and she was right in stating that it is for all of us, not only Southhampton.

There is another posting on this site that cries out in frustration at the inertia in the Village and the blindness of those who simply go along as they see power for themselves, like to be with what they think is the in crowd (hello, people, high school is long over), or those who have been cowed by loud voices and/or threats, implicit or explicit. Olga has been fighting this fight for a long time and we owe it to her and to the others who are slowly coming in from the land of frustration to DO SOMETHING and Mr. Malefactor, calling us malcontents all the time and thinking that is the way you win is so childish and only reflects poorly on you. Your intransigence is only making it harder and nigh on to impossible to try to work together for the betterment of all concerned. It is not easy to be president of UCO, and we acknowledge that, but don't let the Darth Vader in you obscure the LIGHT!

Is there anyone out there listening?

 Is anyone out there understanding or caring what the hell is going on?  Of the 7,854 partners, there are but 2 or 3 hundred people who are willing to say something about how we really should be able to exist together.  UCO brought themselves into the picture with Levy, and Levy gave them the reins – “go ahead”, - and ahead they did with EGO, POWER and CONTROL.  What happens here becomes a pathetic entity, everybody want to do things their own way.

Israel then comes into office by the most devious means you can possibly imagine, and has a following of people who will believe in everything he says, even if it’s totally wrong.  He doesn’t care, so long as he is able to get his way, like a spoiled child.  But, this minor, small, powerful group is able to push forward anything that Israel demands.  That is not a democracy; that is a dictatorship with slaves.  Who cares, right?  So long as it doesn’t affect your pocketbook, who cares?  And, that’s Century Village.
You have a man with egotistical views about everything, who wants the ultimate power over everybody; and absolutely has to have control over everything.  And, you followers agree.

Again, you unit owners out there, do you understand what is going on?  This man slanders people, libels people and smiles at you at the same time, and you think that he hasn’t done anything wrong.  I’m really not saying all of this because I want a new president.  What I want is an honest president; a president who represents all of the people, a president who is caring, responsible and understanding; a president who doesn’t lie or consider his chair a throne.  Mr. Israel is certainly not the president that should be governing CV – not by a long shot.

How in the world can you be convinced?  When the reputation of Century Village sinks even lower than it already is, you’ll know why, - and that’s when people move out in droves.  That happened throughout history in every Jewish settlement.  So, why can’t we prevent such a happening?  Well, it’s because you have a man with his followers, who wants to go down in history as the very best president that UCO has ever had.  Are you kidding?  Are you bloody serious?

Why am I against Israel?  I’m not against Israel.  I’m against everything that he stands for.  It’s really not what he does; - it’s what he doesn’t do.  If it wasn’t for Ed Black, another backroom devious character, Israel wouldn’t know what to do next.  He doesn’t know how to talk to people, - he says – “send me an e-mail”, or  "be brief".  He lacks the skills as to how to govern and that is a known fact.

Let’s face facts; Israel was the winner over Dan Gladstone only because Israel got away with spewing venom all over the place in letter form that now is revealed to be falsehoods and extremely damaging to the recipients.  That’s the way he is; he’s that kind of person, and all of his followers who gained from his election in one form or another, are a rowdy bunch who will fade with him until he eventually dies out.  What a sad ending for believers who will eventually know the truth about their false leader.

What the Heck was that?

So this morning I attended my first Delegate Assembly and it certainly was an experience. There were lots of people other than delegates there so I was not out of place. What did confuse me was the running of the meeting. Over and over again the key word was "be brief" or "briefly", even to Mark Pafford which, I must say, was a bit of chutzpah (nerve).What was strange is that when one of Dave's claque got up to speak about term limits, she went on and on and on and on without a reminder to be brief. That did not happen when Olga spoke and I had to wait thru several oral disputes by others till I got my chance to speak. Anyone who displeased Dave was told "you are out of order" making me think that perhaps a lesson or two in Robert's rules of Order might not be out of place or unwarranted. 

Blatant stretching of reality was apparent with oh such vocal wonderings about why were we having a vote again on the issue of term limits when the hypocrites fully seemed to disremember that they had another vote about a month or two after they were told that term limits were voted in. Goose and gander? Remember them? Unfortunately term limits were voted out so it is incumbent upon us that we run for office. We must not let inertia allow the powers that wanna be rule the roost and imitate in their own inimitable way the mannerisms and traits of other minor despots around the world.

I must say, there were people who did seem to know their business. Dorothy, as usual, knew her stuff; Dom presented factually and unemotionally on his list of responsibilities and the new LCAM seemed quite pleasant when he introduced himself.

Dave enjoyed playing secret agent man as he implied that lots of things were going on re the supposed crime wave but he could not talk about it. Really, Dave? Are we three years old and cannot keep a secret or was a suspect in the room and don't flimflam people with the statements that all the info is in the computer back to 2008. Who the hell is going to coordinate the robberies and break ins with the computer info on entries into the Village? And why can't we know if the security firm is going to be clearly instructed to check ids carefully?

All in all, I was pretty disappointed in our Village government. People, we must stand up and be counted. We must be heard. We must not be cowed by threats, fierce and loud voices or rude remarks. So, what the heck was that? A weak form of government, a disappointing one at that. And I must add in one more troublesome anecdote.

When a gentleman called Neil was speaking in a quiet tone urging acceptance of the vote no matter which way it went even though he personally did want term limits, a foul mouthed person next to me said aloud, referring to the speaker, "Jew bastard!" Really? Are we here again? Is that what we have come down to, all this fighting and nastiness, much originating with Czar David and his supporters, but no one innocent? Are we really that backwards or fallen that far back into the sewer? Again, Dave, can we put aside everything and work all together? I am ready and willing - and this is my third unanswered invitation to you, so I guess we all know where you stand. Silence is quite loud at times, ain't it!

Crooked, who me?

I'm not a Crook

Richard Nixon, President of the United States, said “I’m not a crook”.  It was, indeed, proven that he was and he resigned from office.

To all of the followers of David Israel, note well, -- Israel is a crook.  The documents that have surfaced, brought forth by Olga Wolkenstein, reveal that he lied and lied again in order to fix the UCO Presidential election.

Dan Gladstone lost the election by two votes.  David Israel retracted, in writing, his extremely damaging statements about Dan and 1^st Priority Contractors.  IT WAS TOO LATE!  In a written document, Israel apologized over and over again with respect to each and every allegation he made.  Again, it’s like he killed them both, and then said, “I apologize”.

For fear of getting sued, Israel HAD to apologize, because if he didn’t there would have been a monstrous judgment against him for defaming Dan Gladstone and 1^st Priority.

But, you can’t just say “I apologize”.  Extreme damage has been done.  You can’t just ruin someone’s reputation, and kill it for someone to get work in Century Village and other Villages, and say, “I apologize”.

The people who believe in David Israel have been suckered into believing he is a good president.  The truth of the matter is that those very same people say, - okay, we can get rid of him, but name somebody who can replace him.  The at least 50% of the people who voted for Dan Gladstone, who believed for 12 years in only doing the right thing for CV, should beg him to return.  He’s been damaged so badly by Israel, that in all probability he would decline.

Israel  is a very shrewd man, and he knows by his computer skills how to get you if he wants to, but he doesn’t represent anything that CV stands for – THE PEOPLE!  Yes, Mr. Israel fixed a practically dead tie election and he is a crook.  Demand, everyone, that he resign, - get him the hell out of here.

Waste and Interference? Says who?

Dave Israel is ranting and raving again

I just checked the "other"* blog and talk about living in a strange world. We now have Dave Israel, who just made a huge fuss about being able to vote again on the term limit issue but that was because he wanted it his way, is now ranting and raving about the waste and interference of voting again on it! Why? Because he has what he wants and doesn't want to give it up.

 

This is so typical of his behavior and if it wasn't so sad, it would be funny. But it is not funny. There is something seriously wrong with this man and his postings and desires or at least how he presents them. Why is he ranting about this when suddenly we seem to have a crime issue in the Village? Why has he not met with officials and come up with a plan and introduced that plan in a Town Hall? Why wasn't that ridiculous wall issue by Southhampton taken care of long before this? I spotted that problem 10 years ago when we moved in. And why suddenly do we have this issue anyway?

 

There is something off about this so called crime wave. For one, why is he publishing all this info for all to see - so that we should all shake in our boots and say don't change horses in midstream? Why and how could NOONE have noticed large flat screen tvs and huge safes being moved? How could NOONE have seen 15 cars being broken into? How could this crew have known that there was liquor available next door to an apartment they robbed and how could NOONE have heard the ruckus they must have made or seen them as they reeled out on their way and how did they get out with all their loot with NOONE seeing that? Where is the supervision over our security firm? Why have Dave and Ed and all the know- it- alls not made sure that security was beefed up there, residents alerted, not to first find out when it is in the paper? Someone, Dave, fell down on the job. Gee, guess who that might be? And Olga, you are correct in that Dave and Co., seem to control all the outlets.

 

I hereby volunteer to write a column for the paper every month just raising issues around the Village and the world laying no blame on anyone, just discussing and asking questions. Want to bet that I get no takers?

I accept. You can post here on the Public blog rather than Dave's Private blog, when ever you like and pretty much say whatever you want! Gary

 

Just like Dave never contacted me to work together, to try to get people to grow up and work together for the sake of us all? But the answer is not to walk out and give up a vote. Instead it is to vote, to speak up and out, to tell it all in the Delegate Assembly, here on the blog, and anywhere else. Stand outside the Clubhouse and give out a flyer. He cannot stop you there - that is common property and as long as you are up to date on fees and have a CV card, there is nothing that can be done. Hell, I will come and hand out flyers if you have them, as long as my knees hold out. I am just so disgusted with this two timing of Dave and Co.

 

And Dave, please do not send me another threatening email about lawyers and such. There is nothing here to act on - unless you decide to act properly and take care of the real issues of the Village as a caring and concerned President who wants to emulate FDR and be president for ever and ever. At least he did something, though not enough on certain issues.

CENTURY VILLAGE AND THE DANGERS OF IMPERIALISM

 

Our forefathers understood the dangers of imperialism and created a government where no person or group would amass too much power. In Century Village, this is not the case. The power in Century Village is vested in one man; the president of UCO. He owns and controls the blog and  the UCO Reporter. How do I know this? I was told by the co-editors that he alone is allowed to print anything he wants to because he is the President; ask them to verify it,  I have it on tape.  He controls channel 63 by virtue of his right hand man, Ed Black. He controls the Delegate Assembly by virtue of the fact that HE ALONE decides the information allowed on the table entering the Theatre.  No other person is allow to place information on this table without David Israel's permission.

The danger of imperialism is lurking very close. You must act now before it’s too late. YOU MUST VOTE FOR TERM LIMITS FOR ALL OFFICERS OF UCO.

The Truth

THE TRUE STORY BEHIND 1^ST PRIORITY 

In 2009, UCO’S insurance was renewed. The insurance Company UCO used during that time was sold to another Company. When the policy was renewed, the new company made the mistake of writing one policy with a $50,000 limit for mold damage.  The original policy called for EACH association to have a $50,000 limit for mold damage. This error meant, in the event of a hurricane the village would only be covered for a grand total of $50,000 mold damage.

The policy was effective  in January and  Dan Gladstone, insurance chair at the time, did not receive the policies until March of that year.  As a result, when he received them and   discovered the mistake, he immediately notified the insurance Company of their error. The insurance company agreed to issue an endorsement to the policy to correct the mistake. Meanwhile, the hurricane destroyed many units, and because of the error, contractors refused to repair any damage, unless they were guaranteed payment in advance.

While the Insurance Company was putting together the endorsement, Jerry Karpf had his monthly umbrella club meeting and invited a representative of 1^st priority as a guest.  This was the first meeting between Dan Gladstone and 1^st Priority. At that meeting, Dan saw an opportunity to speak to 1^st priority about our problem.   1^st priority agreed to do the work without receiving money up front. They understood the problem and said they would wait for the insurance Company to issue the endorsement to allow each Association to have a total of $50,000 in mold damage.  Dan said OK but insisted all work must have permits. At that time, none of the unit owners had permits for the work needed to repair their units.  (Thirty eight inspections previously failed due to violations.)  1^st priority was told by the inspectors, they were not allowed to begin work until all violations were removed. After the violations were removed the inspectors would issue permits to begin work.   The inspectors gave the responsibility of removing the violations to the unit owners and the Associations. This created a long waiting period in which repair work was held up due to the existing violations. Many unit owners were unaware of the cause of the delay; they became frustrated and blamed Dan. Dan Gladstone went before the Insurance commission to complain about the inspectors not giving permits to the contractors to allow them to begin work. He was told by the commission, “What do you want us to do? Have those contractors to do the work without permits? They have to wait.”  Eventually, the violations were removed, and 1^st priority completed all the work.  The delays caused the unit owners to become frustrated, and they put all the blame on Dan.  David Israel saw the perfect opportunity to capitalize on the owner’s anger and frustrations by using Dan Gladstone as a whipping boy.  The owners quickly forgot about all the work and effort Dan Gladstone put into serving the village for the past ten years. The result was David Israel won that election by only TWO votes.   

Authors note:  1^st priority had previously worked in Palm Beach County and had never encountered any problems. Their reputation was sullied by David Israel and his henchmen that wanted David in power.

 It was because of a threatened lawsuit by 1^st priority that David Israel knew he could not defend that he was forced to write this letter of retraction.

The amazing thing is that  Republican politicians using  shameless scare tactics to keep their own constituents from benefiting from the ACA are, by and large, receiving their own health insurance coverage from the government by virtue of their status as government employees.

And why is it that Americans of every political persuasion are more than willing to entrust their health care coverage to the government as soon as they become eligible for Medicare

It should be easy to point out these staggering inconsistencies to people, but even the most determined efforts are likely to fall on deaf ears for the segment of the population being targeted for these conservative disinformation campaigns.

The sheer cruelty of trying to deny the uninsured access to coverage while offering them no feasible alternative is nearly impossible to fathom.

"FOR THE GOOD OF ALL."

Mr. Rivera has chosen to single out Dorothy Tetro, UCO's Treasurer by making certain claims as to her residency.  At a meeting he came right out and said so.  He makes the statement that it is not personal, but rather for the good of all CV residents to abide by the rules and by HIS interpretation of residency.  If you believe that garbage, he'll tell you another one.

He talks often about how everyone should live by the established By-Laws; he's adamant about that, - "FOR THE GOOD OF ALL." he says.  The Camden "B" Condominium Association documents, where Mr. Rivera resides, state in part:  "TO SHOW NO SIGNS, ADVERTISEMENTS OR NOTICES OF ANY TYPE ON THE COMMON ELEMENTS OR HIS (sic) UNIT ....."

In the rear of Mr. Rivera's unit, on his porch, facing the roadway, he has erected an illuminated moving message sign similar to what you might see on a building at One Time Square, New York.  His moving message sign has red letters, with other colors added for emphasis - some words are even blinking.  The letters are 3" to 4" high and the sign is 2 to 3 feet long.  The moving sign reads in two word segments the following:  "DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE SCARE TACTICS OF THE ANTI-DAVE PEOPLE.  THEY SAY THINGS WITHOUT PROOF.  NEWS FLASH.  IF AN OFFICER OF UCO DOES NOT RESIDE IN CENTURY VILLAGE THEN ACCORDING TO THE BY-LAWS THEY MUST RESIGN.  SIGN THE PETITION REQUIRING PROOF OF RESIDENCY FOR ALL OFFICERS IN DOUBT OF THEIR RESIDENCY.  THANK YOU"

Now, about the By-Laws, Mr. Rivera, - do you practice what you preach, or is it that you couldn't care less about what anyone says?  If anyone demands that you take the moving message sign down because you are violating your own By-Laws, what are you going to do, - BANG, BANG - SHOOT HIM with the gun you admit having?

Century Village has numerous problems, no doubt, but you are its' biggest.  Tell everyone who pushed your buttons - was it Mr. Israel or Mr. Black, - or both?

Mr. Rivera, a number of things have been said of you and about you in great detail on this Blog, including quotes from you, and you haven't responded to a single posting.  The unwritten law of mutual understanding and recognition in the civilized world dictates that if you don't respond to the matters put before you that are duly recorded, - it is normally deemed that all that is said of you and about you is authentic.

And, since you haven't responded to all that is now on record, then you are hereafter known to be a CERTIFIED FAKE.  The sad part about this is that you know it.

Now that you have admitted that you own a gun, - are you a FAKE or a FLAKE?  Because if you are on medication that may indicate that you are a FLAKE, owning a gun may be something people have to worry about.

 David began his history of lies and deceptions while running for president of UCO. His strong need for power promulgated the treacherous actions which led to the defeat of his opponent Dan Gladstone.

Without receiving payment in advance, Ist Priority was the only Company willing to enter Century Village to begin cleanup operations after the hurricane. At that time, no other Company was willing to begin restoration of water damage without first being paid by the insurance company.

Hence, Dan Gladstone's only choice was to allow Ist Priority into the village to begin cleanup. One problem resulted with Ist priority out of many and was blown up out of proportion by David Israel and his gang of supporters in order to defame Ist Priority and his opponent Dan Gladstone.

On , 2009 during a United Civic Organization (" UCO" ) Insurance meeting, I took it upon myself to publish to its President, George Loewenstein and other committee members, then in attendance, a purported memorandum regarding the validity and experience of Ist Priority Restoration Services, Inc.

My memorandum commenced with five(5)" key" questions, to wit:

How and why is UCO First Named Insured?

Why is UCO interfering in Association Insurance Affairs?

Why are so many claims involving potentially unnecessary repairs being filed? What is our risk of being unable to acquire insurance as a result of our escalating claims~ volume?

Why did we select a 5 year old inexperienced firm for such a major project?

My memorandum first states that " 1st Priority Restoration" does not appear to be licensed in Florida. I then go on to state that " 1st Priority Restoration Services, Inc. " appears to be the true name of the firm. I hereby acknowledge that at all times relevant herein, 1st Priority Restoration Services, Inc., was a duly incorporated Florida corporation and I apologize for inferring that the company was not licensed in Florida for not having filed their articles of incorporation with the Florida Secretary of State, Division of Corporations.

My memorandum then states that 1st Priority Restoration Services, Inc.'s web site refers to MC Enterprises of South Florida, Inc. (" MC" ) which is " reminiscent of those who do handyman jobs in CV and advertise in the Reporter under other people's name and license." I further stated that MC is licensed but made no mention of First Priority. What I should have stated is that the corporate address, the President and Vice President of both corporations are identical. Thus, this is NOT reminiscent of persons who perform other " handyman jobs" . I hereby apologize for defaming the activities of 1st Priority Restoration Services, Inc.

My memorandum further states that " I would suspect the Legal ability of either firm to carry out Mold mitigation." I acknowledge that I have no competent substantial evidence of the truthfulness of this statement and apologize for defaming the services rendered by 1st Priority Restoration Services, Inc. mld/or MC Enterprises of South Florida, Inc.

My memorandum further states that " The Corporation filing clearly indicates that 1st. Priority Restoration Services, Inc., was created on September 9. 2004 (within a week after Hurricane Frances had devastated Florida ) specifically, I suspect, to rape Florida Citizens of all those juicy Insurance dollars and Deductible payments." I acknowledge that I have no competent substantial evidence of the truthfulness' of this statement and apologize for defaming the good name of 1st Priority Restoration Services, Inc.

In addition, I acknowledge orally stating at a recent UCO meeting that 1st Priority Restoration Services, Inc. operated under the following entities: (a) First Priority DKI; and (b) First Priority Restoration, Inc. 1 acknowledge that at no time did 1st Priority Restoration Services, Inc. ever operate under the foregoing names and that I have no competent substantial evidence of the truthfulness of my statement. I hereby apologize for defaming the good name of 1st Priority Restoration Services, Inc. and misleading the public as to its work and reputation.

It appears that my memorandum, while only distributed at the UCO meeting, was in fact disseminated to other members within Century Village, Boca Raton. Accordingly, 1 hereby request that those who made copies of my previous Memorandum to make equal or greater numbers of copies of this retraction letter and that they distribute it as they did my Memorandum.

Finally, please consider this correspondence as my formal retraction of all defamatory references to IST Priority Restoration Services, Inc I realize that I was remiss in not checking more carefully to ensure the accuracy of my information, for which I sincerely apologize. I hereby formally state that I have no reservations whatsoever of UCO or any other entity within Century Village or elsewhere from soliciting and utilizing the services of IST Priority Restoration Services, Inc

Hi all

First of all, let me make it clear, I do not want to see housing on the golf course; I would far prefer to have it returned to being a golf course, "in perpetuity".

However, there has to be some limit to the rapacity of the Non-UCO ProActive Committee's unbridled greed for our money!

At Mondays meeting of the Executive Board, a member of the ProActive Committee, which I hasten to point out, is not a UCO committee, by their own choice, made known plans to make a motion at the upcoming meeting of the Delegate Assembly to place in the UCO budget for 2013 a line item of 98 cents per month per unit to continue paying an attorney to fight the developers plan to convert the golf course to residential housing. I hasten to note that this sort of  motion was defeated at last months Delegate Assembly meeting!!

Having already burned through $25,000.00 of unit owner money and an undisclosed sum of donations, the ProActive committee now wants another $92,363.04 in 2013 from our unit owners!!

The developer has millions, we do not!! This hemorrhagic rapacity must stop. Is this to become a Common expense in perpetuity?

If the Proactive Committee wants money, let them canvass for donations from the "true believers" in the miasmic not to be golf course in the sky, and stop trying to make their vendetta a Common expense which we can ill afford.

Delegates, please ask your Unit Owners what they think, before you vote!
